Fantastic experience with great service and really interesting flavors. This spot is on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list.
Ambiance was upscale, intimate, with mostly locals hanging out and having a good meal. It felt like a fusion of a French+Japanese dining experience.
I ordered the Omakase (€43), which came with 4 small/medium plates, and the dessert. Just the Omakase was enough to fill me up plenty, especially with the unlimited bread.
The staff can help you choose a glass of wine or two that pairs well with the dishes.
Everything from the flavors to the textures to the sauces were all great. Highlights for me included the raw scallops in the first course, a first for me. And the pork belly at the end. Succulent, with a deliciously crispy skin. The kim chi was a nice touch on that dish, and the sauce was divine.
Dessert was beautiful. I got the sweet potato ice cream with a base of chocolate cake (translated as "sponge cake", but it felt more like a brownie?). With nutmeg cream on top.
Service was courteous and they spoke English well enough to help me as my French was awful, lol. Service tended to be slow, or maybe it felt slow by my American standards. They were full that night and the staff did look like they could use one or two more servers to help out. Just getting the bill and paying it took over 20 minutes, I think. That said, I don't blame the staff; they were great.
