It's such a pleasure to go into a store where every single staff member is friendly, knowledgable and willing to go above and beyond to make certain you are happy with your purchase, or your overall experience, regardless of you purchasing anything or not. MacDermott's prices may be on the higher end than other mens clothing stores, but then, there is no comparison to the type of clothing you're buying there to whatever you might find at some shop in the mall. Whether you want something striking or classic, fashion forward or conservative; your individual needs AND wants regarding clothing will be fulfilled. It's not about 'just paying for a label'. These gentlemen know how to fit men, how to style men and what will make each man look like a million. MacDermott's is the only store worth mentioning as far as men's clothes go in Kelowna.

Most of the sales staff are very friendly and helpful but there is one guy who acts like a used car sales man. He constantly tries to push me to buy things I don't want and has a fake kind of friendliness. Their prices are much higher than what I normally pay at boutiques in the United States. I asked them why their prices are so much higher despite the current exchange rate and he got annoyed. He arrogantly denied that his prices were higher than the US and said that all Hugo Boss boutiques are required to have the exact same prices world-wide. I told him I could prove otherwise with receipts that I have from the US and various approved websites. He was quick to interrupt me and then say that he has been all around the world and that Canada has cheaper prices on Hugo Boss than most other places. For example, he said in Europe, they are far more expensive. I agree that the prices can be higher in Europe BUT he had just said a few minutes prior that all Hugo Boss boutiques are required to have the same prices world-wide...lol. On 2 different occasions, I asked them to order me something from the official Hugo Boss website. They told me that they don't do custom orders and only have what is in the store. LAZY! Lately, I have been going to the US and buying a years worth of clothing all at once. With the money I save, the trip always pays for itself.

Wrong sizes, dirty and stained pants, couldn't find our orders and worst of all the staff really made it clear we were bothering them by asking for their service! It had everything in it- passport, Id, wallet, money etc. Someone had found it on the beach and taken it to Freeride, who then turned it into the police, and even tracked me down on Facebook in order to contact my employer to contact me so I'd know to go to police. I had to do extra work to find out who freerides was as they hadn't left contact info to take credit for their amazingly generous efforts on my behalf. Of course, visiting their store after this I was very delighted to have an excuse to purchase truly chic high quality shoes, bikini, and T-shirt. Recently, we were in having a suit rental fitted for our son for upcoming graduation. The staff are not only welcoming and kind but so incredibly knowledgeable. The experience was amazing and we could not have asked for better service, while still fun and insightful.
