I just happened to be at this shopping centre one day waiting for something from another shop and…read morethought I would just browse in this store while I waited. They actually have quite a lot of stuff and if it's not good enough they can't sell it so it always checked items for sale. Mostly clothes and some minor bric a brac, not much furniture really but a little. However I did manage to get some great second hand clothes for my kids. An amazing shirt for my youngest which he wore ALL the time. Absolutely LOVED it! And some really cool Holden pyjamas that were still in great condition. I picked up some really good bargains and walked out with a few items for each child and only spent about $30.00. Kids grow out of clothes so quickly that you can pick up really good second hand stuff that is barely worn. After getting some great bargains here myself I always donate what my kids grow out of back to them to sell to another person looking to get some good pre-loved clothes and save a few dollars.

The Salvo's shop is one of the better opportunity shops out there. I often donate to the cause by…read moreproviding some old clothing and items to them. In terms of variety of what is on sale, it can often vary. The pricing on most items is very reasonable (they could probably even charge more), however it can be a bit of a lucky dip when it comes to what is on offer. Unfortunately (well at least for myself) in recent years, the book collection has significantly been reduced in size. Clothing and furniture remain dominant though, which is a good thing if you are looking for some penny-pinching home-ware items. They also have a good range of kids toys, most of which appeared basic staples when I was there but nonetheless can be quite useful. At the end of the day, the money does go to a good cause and I am sure that there is something to suit everyone in the shop (at some point or another).

I notice online that they have them in other…read morestates but this is the first I have seen or been into and the only one in SA at this stage. I could not believe how huge it was the first time I went in there. You could spend hours browsing in this store. They have everything pre-loved from clothes, furniture, electrical, toys, games, books, curtains, towels, bedding, shoes even some special things in a locked cabinet near the checkouts. Some of the smaller items, like kitchen utensils and small toys, they have wrapped together and sell as a pack for only a few dollars. I managed to get a fantastic game for my son there that he just loves and it's so simple but i have never seen it in a shop before. He has had hours of play from it and will continue to use it for a while linger yet and it was only $4.00! No problems with returns as long as you have your receipt and it's within a timely manner since the purchase date. All the electrical items they sell have to be tagged and tested prior to sale so I haven't had any issues anyway. Even better if you have stuff to get rid of at home they have a bin at the front of the store you can deposit items into. And to take it one step further when the store is open so is the back door and you can just drive around there and they will take any donations straight out your car for you. Makes it easier than trying to shove a garbage bag of stuff in a donation bin somewhere. Plus you can take items that won't fit in one of the bins so you can get rid of anything there. Definitely a place I will visit every now and then just to see what's on offer as stock is always changing. And as they say - someone else's trash may be your treasure!

Fortunately my Girlfriend, oddly enough, does wear womens clothing and spent quite some time in th the Replay Emporium.....which also meant that I spent quite some time there also. Yay for me. As is the case with most of these recycled clothing 'boutiques' the used rags they stock are not on the crap side of the scale. In fact there were a number of items that really made my eyes pop.....I mean my girlfriends eyes.....yeah, thats it. For those out there with a shoe fetish, there are a select few funky examples to drool over (none of them in a mens size 12 unfortunately).

Replay Emporium, ahhh what can I say?…read more I stumbled into this place for the first time when I was showing my visiting relatives around Hahndorf. Little did I know this place would soon capture me with its fashion, trinkets and accessories - not to mention squeeze the life out of my wallet... Walking in, the first things that caught my eye was the cute homeware decor to the right of the entrance. There sat different photo frames, necklace stands, mugs, vintage clothing hooks with such intricate detail, and much more. There were only about three small displays, but I swear I spent about half an hour looking at those alone. They weren't expensive either! I bought a beautiful ballerina jewellery stand and the vintage clothing hooks that are yet to be drilled into my bedroom wall. Next, the fashion. You would never know that this is a recycled clothing boutique. The clothes selected are still intact and of good quality. I bought a minkpink black dress and a cute pantsuit both for under $40. The rings and accessories in the cabinet displays are, however, on the more expensive side. I guess it's because they're hand made, not to mention unique in style. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who loves shopping, or a boyfriend looking for a gift perhaps..?

I had to walk all the way through to the back wall of the store before I am greeted warmly by an employee. I replied, "Hello! I'm looking for an outfit!" "Sure!" she said genuinely, "Let me help you! I'll take you around the store." I can tell she's going to be good at this. "Oh, don't worry about remembering everything I've picked out, I'll write this all up for you at the end." Wait. Is this surfy looking hot shorty actually HELPING me? Or is she just into the fact that I look like a businessman today because I am wearing my best baby blue business shirt and carrying my professional-looking black suitcase? The surf shop located 112-118 Rundle Mall is clearly "one of the best" I've experienced so far. (Am I allowed to say that cliche phrase again?) I was there for quite a while for what felt like at least 45 minutes, the employee was amazingly helpful, very friendly, got my joke about how "that red dress you've chosen is not going to last very long on my imaginary girlfriend" and...dare I say, she was sexy-lookin'. Not only was she sexy, but the beach straw hat, sexy red dress, sunnies, and shoes that she picked out for me was definitely the best looking outfit chosen by a a shop assistant so far. Obviously coming back here to bring sexy back. Honeymoon holiday gift for my next girlfriend? This is the place for that. I wonder what other shop can top this?
