My partner's life was saved only by an amazing team of doctors at Eisenhower in Palm Springs. We were very lucky to have been there over the holidays. My partner is young and will now have irreversible damages to his body. I had been with my partner during the office visits, and I can attest to Elad's conduct. Not only had Dr. Elad been impolite, combative and lackadaisical with his diagnosis he also dismissed my partner's complains of heart palpitations. At the last office visit in late November, Dr Elad said that "there is nothing he can do" and that my partner "had to live with that condition." On top of it he forgot to listen to my partner's heart. Three weeks later we desperately called Dr. Elad for help. My partner had gained 20 pounds of water weight and complained of shortness of breath. Dr Elad suggested either to wait until after the holidays to see him, or go to the emergency room in Palm Springs. We chose the emergency room and it was the right choice over doctor Elad. If you want to talk to someone, you need to show up. This office does not use any electronic system database and everything is paper/files. It took me months to get a follow up referral (that the doctor had recommended) because they had not submitted the referral. I called the office countless times, left voicemails, and no responses. Once I finally spoke to someone, they said they'd be submitting the referral before the end of the week.... One month later and it still wasn't submitted until I went into person and asked for it to be done. Additionally, when I had an appointment with Dr. Marmarelis, I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism I experienced. After waiting 30 minutes for my appointment, in the middle of my appointment, he stepped out to take a phone call and in doing so, left my files AND another patients files in the room with me. It concerns me and makes me wonder if my own records are being left haphazardly around the office and my information is not being protected. The doctor did not seem to truly care of my symptoms, previous history or helping me improve my health. He quickly prescribed Topamax, while making a disgusting comment that "women love it because they lose weight." I was truly appalled. Then said my migraines were something to just manage, despite being truly debilitating at times. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience and urge everyone to stay away from this place.

I received a strange call recently asking…read morewhy I sent my UCLA internist an envelope with Pet Scan CD Roms busted in half inside an envelope mailed from a Santa Monica mail center. They said the return address label had my name with a Santa Monica mail center address and it was mailed from that location. I told them I never mailed anything; have never lived nor had any mailing address in Santa Monica; have been living out of State since last year and that for the last 1.5 years I've been waiting for my CD roms to be corrected with a proper DICOM format to be either sent to my Westwood mailing address or available for my in person pickup. There are clearly several demonic staff members who work for Mark Urman MD at play here; someone actually did something like that from his offices or his lab; his entire staff belongs in the garbage. He should fire them all including the nasty uncooperative Monica in the Cardiac Lab (she called security when I walked in for the fourth time asking for my CD roms because they would not give them to me properly formatted). While Mark Urman is considered to be a very good physician (therefore the two stars); you will struggle with his staff; his office manager and his additional desk staff inside Cardiac Imaging Nuclear Associates Lab. You will have to fight to receive your nuclear medical scans even if you write Mark Urman, MD a fax or letter. They must not give them to him or he just ignores your letters and faxes. If it had been disclosed to me in the very beginning his practice uses a "private nuclear lab" that Cedars Sinai Medical Center has no access to; I would have considered that problematic and not stayed in his medical practice. It is very hard to determine if they try sabotaging an exiting patient at his request or if the staff is trying to sabotage Mark Urman, MD. The lack of being able to exit any medical practice with privacy of where and who you are going to next for your medical care with CD roms of imaging you already paid a lot of money for due to a decade of concierge fees; this would cause me to steer clear of any medical practice that would do this to you. I will follow up with yet another updated review once I know my current physican was able to actually read what was sent by Cardiac Imaging Nuclear Associates into the UCLA electronic system as for my Cardiac Pet Scans. That appointment is not near anytime soon. In the meantime, I'm not a disgruntled difficult patient and was at this medical practice over 10 years. The nasty staff problems began once I tried to leave the practice due to unaffordability going forward. The newest physician offered to me for same price I had been paying I felt was not a good fit for me with bedside manner after seeing him once when Mark Urman MD was not in the office.
