Our table was booked for 2.15 pm and the place was heaving, absolutely packed. We had a fantastic meal, my daughter and I had the open lasagne which was squash and goats cheese with a pesto sauce I could eat that every day of the week it was heavenly, my daughter thought the same. My husband opted for the roast rib of beef and said it was really tasty, lovely bit of beef. We had chocolate fondants and bread and butter pudding for desserts which were also well above par. All in all (husband also said it was the best pint he had drunk for a very long time) we had a really enjoyable mothers day meal and we felt good value for money with quality ingredients, not frozen ready meals bought in like some pubs dish up. 6 August 2011 Had a really nice meal which we both enjoyed, nice touch having the home made bread and home churned butter. The interior is everything an English pub should be, with dark, ancient wooden beams broken up by expanses of whitewashed plaster, intimate seating nooks perfect for conversation over pints, an iron stove with a fire for chilly days, and an expansive outdoor seating area for enjoying temperate ones. Bullseye glass in some of the windowpanes and other subtle touches hint at the centuries that this pub has stood. There is a car park (American translation: parking lot) so you can park easily, or there are some lovely public paths through the verdant countryside (AllTrails is a good reference for navigating these). There are picnic tables in front, but I'd recommend forgoing them in favor of the outdoor space in back: a good-sized lawn with lovely views, and a playground for any little ones. Locals remember that the Plough had a rep for pretty mediocre food, a rep that is reflected in the more elderly reviews here on Yelp. I'm here to tell you that the chef has breathed new life into this kitchen, producing a delightful admixture of world cuisines and traditional British favorites, often with a modern twist. Our party enjoyed the Thai Curry Chicken, the Mutton Burger, and the Bangers and Mash; our experience was uniformly superb. Craft local ales and ciders are available, along with mass-market beer for those who dare not try the unfamiliar. A variety of wine selections are also available by the glass. Service was friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The hours here are a bit limited (only open 3 days per week, as of this writing), so check their website to ensure that they will be open to accommodate you before setting out. Its not really a place to go for a big night out but does a good quiz every sunday night, where the 50p admissions are used as the prizes. You can usually get around £40 quid for first prize if its not too quiet. But all the times i have been it has always been full to the brim. Drinks are an ok price, not really any different from any other pub. The Chequers also has karaoke every week, which can be heard when you walk past and it always looks very busy.

The Two Brewers is located in the heart of Hadlow itself. a short walk up form the shops and you can't miss the place! Those that know their real ale pubs and companies will automatically know one thing from the outside- that this is a Harvey's pub. Upon walking through the doors you turn right into what you would think to be a small bar. Quite the opposite in fact! The owners, Chris and Sue Snape will immediately give you a warm welcome (as will Molly, the pub dog!) The pub itself reminds me of the traditional pubs- the way a pub should be. Let's be honest now, most pubs these days have gotten a little carried away with the deco! The Two Brewers however has achieved something that, pub wise at least, is hard to achieve: remain traditonal but still have that clean fresh look to it. The local's are friendly and very easy to talk to and the pub has nice easy atmosphere to go with it. What is suprising is the amount of beers avaliable- a minimum of two beers on pump at any point (all Harveys, naturally!) with many more bottled beers behind the bar. Make no mistake about it, half the village now come here and its no suprise why! the beers average at around a reasonable £2.90 for the average beer. Remember though that prices will vary according to strength (ABV) but that's how most pubs operate. Foodwise The Two Brewers do a good menu at a reasonable price. The menu changes from time to time, of course and the food is cooked well. The best thing to do is ask at the bar of course! All in all The Two Brewers is a well run pub, with Chris and Sue running a tight ship. I can see this being the busiest pub in Hadlow for a long while to come!
