They had to keep the car an extra day because my color choice required a clear coat. I'm very happy with the results and have gotten lots of compliments on the wheels. Of course you get the few that don't like the color or make stupid comments. To them, I say it's my car, and I'll do whatever I want. First off, I'll give you the basic setup…read more This is part of a large manufacturing corp that takes outside work too. Their setup is truly industrial. Parts are hung on an overhead trolley system, they go through a giant chemical cleaning and treatment wash unit, then through an oven to dry them, then to the painters, then through another oven to bake. The process is pretty simple. Call Javier and set up a time to drop off your part. When you go to the building, you will need to watch for their sign in the grass on the south side of the street. It's one of those corrugated plastic things with their name and an arrow. Their entrance is on the back side of the building - facing east, southern most door. If you have a big part, back up to the last garage door. Otherwise, use the normal door. When you walk in, it's a large loading dock area, don't stress out!!!! Nobody is going to run you over with a forklift. From that doorway. The one directly in front of you goes into the painting area. So don't go on that one - unless you really want the whole experience. The main entrance is on the north - right side of the wall. Once you walk into the giant powder coating warehouse area, one of the crew will greet you. Let them know you are there to see Javier. All done with the scary part. Javier is a pretty cool guy. He does have a thick accent, do pay attention. They take cash, check or charge. Cash gets you a cheaper price. For time frame, I dropped my newest custom Harley build frame off on a Friday morning and picked it up the following Monday. Can't beat that with a stick. The work looks very good, give them a try. I'd been working away…read moreat cleaning old gasket off the cylinders for my 1980 Yamaha XS1100 project bike for literally months and mostly had scratches on the aluminum to show for my efforts. I dropped these off for bead blasting on a Thursday and they were ready for pickup a week later. AMAZING results, and no damage to the aluminum. Their minimum charge appears to be $25, which is a freakin' bargain for the end result. Owner John is also a motorcycle aficionado and is knowledgeable about bikes. They were quick to turn down an additional project I tried to drop off given that there was potential to cause damage to the engine - the candor was much appreciated and they even made some recommendations on how to accomplish what I was trying to do on my own. If you're working on a project bike, A1 is a great resource to handle some of the requisite metal stripping projects professionally which will save you time and the potential for causing damage. Prices are extremely reasonable and turnaround times are quick. I'll be back in the near future to have the frame stripped.
