Great breakfast. Eggs, biscuit, bacon and hash browns. Fairly good service. Love a non chain restaurant with history and home cooked food.

This is your comfort food paradise! Had the lunch buffet with fried chicken strips, grilled chicken strips, skillet potatoes, black-eyed peas, salad bar and carrot cake. They also had fried chicken, salmon patties and loads of other veggies, cobbler, etc. Food was flavorful and warm and my waitress was attentive, friendly, kept my sweet tea full and had a lovely southern accent. Just a good all around experience. And, can I add $11 including a drink and sales tax for an all-you-can-eat buffet is a great deal! I do love a good Mom-and-Pop! read more

Stopped at Mama Ree's for the first (and last time). We have driven by many times and seen a full parking lot so we figured we were missing a good bet. I love chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy. The potatoes were watery and the chicken was all strips. The cobblers were strawberry, peach and chocolate. My husband tried two small helpings and was not at all impressed. They really did not even look appetizing. The small ice cream cups for dessert were vanilla and chocolate---no toppings at all. I have no idea why anyone would go there more than once. read more

True southern cooking! The biscuits are perfect, the sides and meats are great, and the desserts are the best! Banana pudding, two fruit cobblers, a pineapple delight, and ice cream that the owner offered to warm up for me! It can't get better than that! A great find for Sunday breakfast and lunch! read more

Mama Ree's has been around for a long time. It is always a good go to place to eat. Sunday lunch is my favorite but you will get a wholesome home style meal any day of the week. Service is good and prices reasonable. Also the sweet tea is wonderful. Enjoy! read more

I'm reserving what I expect to be a five-star review until I get to try their buffet, but for now, Mama Ree's gets a solid four stars. Misunderstanding when their breakfast buffet is (Saturdays only), we made a stop during the week. I was disappointed I didn't get my days right, but we still had a nice breakfast for two consisting of two eggs each, hash browns, country ham and toast for him, and a biscuit for me, all for less than twenty bucks. Keep in mind, while they apparently accept credit cards, they keep their prices low by requesting customers pay with cash or checks instead. The service itself is classic Southern charm with a side order of never ending coffee. Can ya really ask for more at 5:30 in the morning? read more

Very happy with our decision to stop and eat here. Been here for 30 years and it's a favorite for locals. Great prices 2 lunch buffet and 2 drinks taxes included was 20.00$ can't beat that. Down-home country cookin' at it's finest. The lunch buffet is a decent deal. $9 for all the fried chicken, salsbury steak, black-eyed peas, corn bread, chittlens, stuffing, cakes, and all other kinds of food that you can eat and love. Wonderful southern cooking. We had breakfast there. Everything was delicious and obviously cooked to order. I wish we lived closer.

Well, it's sort of hard to decide on a rating. Not wanting to give this place an "A-Ok" rate (because it does deserve better), but not wanting to give an "Yay-I am a fan" rating either anymore (been going here for a long time). It is a good place for a meat and vegetable place (better than some others I've been to), but had a bad experience with finding black hair in my food. It tends to turn you off. Also I suppose that because I've been going here almost every Sunday for lunch, food has become somewhat boring. In the past the food has been great with all kinds of desserts. Now it has just become routine with not as many choices. It could use some improvement read more

Had great Sunday lunch good food, little wait but food was worth the Sunday Church groups

My parents went here today for lunch. They arrived about 10 until 2 pm. They are elderly. Before I go further let me mention that my Mom managed a busy multi-million dollar retail industry prior to retirement. She politely asked if they were still serving lunch and she related to me that the waitress was extremely nice and replied that they certainly were. My parents paid for their meals and went to the buffet to get their plates. My Mom stated that they had barely gotten to eat any of their meal when the waitress came to ask if they were going to have any dessert. My Mom was taken aback but replied that she knew that she was going to have dessert and that my Dad certainly was as well. She said that they had barely begun eating. My Dad is severely hearing impaired and they had just returned from the V.A. facility from his getting fitted for hearing aids. With that my Mom said that the manager or owner walked over and asked about dessert again and exclaimed that they closed at 2 o'clock! My Mom asked her why they were told that they could come in for lunch if that was true and why did they take their money?? The woman told my Mom and Dad that they had been there since 6 am that morning and that everyone knew that they closed at 2 o'clock. My Mom told her that they had no sign on the door. They were extremely rude and acted as if they didn't care. This manager then talked away on the phone as if she were the best friend to the person on the phone. The bottom line is that my Mom and Dad are as good hearted and down to earth as they can be.They are from the surrounding area. I live along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and my sister lives just south of my parents. We have friends and family just as these people do. The difference? Our livelihoods do not depend upon repeat customers. Oh wait! My Mom's used to and you should have seen her bonuses. lol I don't normally post negative comments but these people were WRONG. PLACE A CLOSED SIGN ON YOUR DOOR IF YOU ARE TAKING DOWN YOUR BUFFET AND DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE INSIDE. LOCK YOUR DOOR! DO NOT TREAT PEOPLE WITH DISRESPECT. That disrespect will come back to you. My sister and I will spread this news throughout all of our contacts and if you lose even just one customer it will make me smile.Guess what? You've already lost 11. Mamma Ree's has a pleasant, welcoming atomsphere. I called first to be sure they were open on Sunday. I found out they did, and had a buffet. I asked if they had fried chicken, as I had craved that for sometime. The lady responded that they sure did. However, after arriving, and viewing the buffet, I determined that the only chicken that was fried was the chicken fingers. Of course I was disappointed, however, I wasn't leaving without 'fried chicken'. Though it wasn't what I had driven 50 miles for, I have to admit that not only the chicken fingers, but all the food on the buffet was very good. Then the peach cobler topped it off.
