I saw Christina for 2 pregnancies and beyond it being a super nurturing, relaxing and supportive massage, it was the only one I could do face down being 35 weeks pregnant with twins! She's the only massage therapist I've seen that has this special table with cut outs for pregnancy. And the sweet Lavender heart pillows she makes are beautiful and adorn the space in a special way... I have had hundreds of massages over the years, since I am in the same business and I also teach massage - Christina hands down is one of the top Therapists that has worked on me. She is highly trained in deeper massage techniques as well as in more gentle touch and cranio sacral work. I love that she combines those styles for a deeply therapeutic, yet soothing and nurturing experience. It is never a cookie cutter type of massage and I love that she combines essential oils - from a couple drops of lemon oil in your water, to the oil difuser in the room to a relaxing drop on your wrist and then combined with a therapeutic blend during the massage - amazing! So luxurious! The other thing that sets Christina apart from other practitioners is that she is extremely professional - she calls right back, is responsive to my needs, shows up on time, has the room set up and ready for me etc. She is a lovely person and so fun to talk to and she has incredible wisdom that has helped me at times when I went through a rough patch here and there. She has a tummy table and since I am 8 months pregnant, it was HEAVEN to relax while lying on my stomach. Christina takes her time to get to know you and your body before starting and also doesn't start the 90 minutes until her hands start massaging you. She uses organic essential oils and lets you smell them first to make sure they work for you. She does 90 minute massages for prenatal and postnatal mamas for $120 and also does house calls too for an additional travel fee. I saw Christina last week for a prenatal massage. I can honestly say it was one of the best massages I've ever had! I was almost 35 weeks in my pregnancy and was a little concerned I was too far along and that the massage would be "wimpy" since I had gotten a prenatal massage at a different massage place (Massage Envy) and it was super soft, way too gentle and didn't really do much for me. Many massage therapists seem afraid to go too deep. Christina definitely knows what she's doing. Her massage skills are amazing - it was just deep enough that I was a little sore the next day (it's been a LONG time since I had a massage). She uses amazing essential oils - a combination of different ones throughout the massage. Her massage table has a cutout for your pregnant belly. It was the first time I was able to lay on my stomach in months and it felt amazing! She even does a little "hello" light massage to the baby with special baby essential oils which I thought was very special. Going to Mama Massage isn't just massage and pain relief it's almost transcendental. Christina has a great and positive attitude about pregnancy and life in general. Christina is amazing!! Bottom line. I was about 6 months pregnant and my back was killing me. I need some help immediately. I called a bunch of places, and only Christina was willing to come in on Christmas Eve morning to help me out. I have been going to see her ever since. She works out of a small studio in San Rafael (right off the Central SR exit in the French Quarter). The studio has a couple of chairs, a restroom (very necessary for expecting mamas!!), and a massage table. She uses the type of table with a cut out for your growing belly. She can adjust the cut out depending on how big you are and how much support you need. I so miss being able to lay on my tummy, and I am always so comfortable when I come. A little more than half way through, she changes the table to allow you to sit in an upright but comfortable reclined position - always extremely comfortable. She uses essential oils, and a lot of pressure when necessary!! I never feel more relaxed than after 90 minutes with Christina. She doesn't take insurance, but I was successful at getting my Flexible Savings account to cover these massages. Christina also has a 5-pack option you can get that reduces the cost per massage. Again - VERY worth it!! read more

All I have to say is ahhhh..... I saw Christina shortly after my birth and she knew exactly what I needed. I will start by saying I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to massage therapists. I found Christina half way through my first pregnancy. Prior to finding her, I suffered through annoying prenatal massages where the therapists treat you like you're about to break and don't do any serious work. I like deep tissue stress/pain relief massage and Christina knows exactly how to do that while being mindful of the spots on your body to avoid. Her table is wonderful - there are adjustable cut outs for your chest and tummy. Towards the end of my pregnancies I would so look forward to my time on her table and getting to lay face down with my tummy supported. In addition to being an amazing therapist, she is a lovely person and calming/soothing to be around. I saw her all through my second pregnancy and in addition to relaxation - she really helped my back that was aching from carrying a two year old and a big tummy. I cannot say enough things about this kind soul. She even schedules enough time around her appointments so that she doesn't have to shove you out the door when you're done. If I could give her seven stars I would. I know my OBGYN who is pregnant sees her to so that really says something. read more

Hubby got me a mama massage as a birthday gift. The only complaint....I should have used this at 25 weeks when I got it as opposed to waiting until 38.5 weeks That way I could have squeezed in more sessions!! Christina is wonderful. She even has this heavenly pregnancy massage table that has a cut out for your belly so after 7.5 months of no tummy time I was really excited for this. Not only did she give a great massage for my achy body that had been on bed-rest but she also had all of these adjunctive therapies to add to the mix with high quality aromatherapy oils and yoga stretches. I'm not a massage person but I am 4 days past due and I needed something to take my mind off my late baby and another attempt at inducing labor naturally. Not sure if the massage will induce labor but it was amazing, well worth the $$. Christina has a table with holes for your belly and lady parts, and the ambiance at her San Rafael location is as relaxing as it gets. I really liked how Christina is mindful of your temperature, the pressure of her massage, if you need to go pee, and the oils she is using; she checked in with me frequently during the massage to make sure I was enjoying all aspects.
