Our heavy hors d'oeuvres (Summer Garden Flatbread Bar) outdoor wedding reception for 230 guests was an outstanding success! Fantastic food can be effectively destroyed by poor presentation and service, and great service and presentation cannot mask average food. From the moment we met Kristen we felt strongly that Ivory Table would deliver on all accounts, and deliver they did! The artisan and flat breads, marinated chicken and flank steak, variety of spreads (the feta scallion spread, omigosh!), cranberry quinoa salad, garden vegetables and dips, cascading fruit tower... it all was beautifully presented and absolutely fantastic to the taste. And as for budget and logistics... fear not, Kristen's creativity and eye for detail allowed it all to be developed and managed to meet a desired budget range, and the Ivory Table professionalism and attention to detail made it a worry-free, don't-have-to-think-about-whether-any-detail-is-forgotten day for the entire wedding party. Kristen Ward and Ivory Table... simply EXCELLENT!

I even overheard some French in a nearby quiet conversation and it totally made my day. They serve sweet and savory large buckwheat crepes that keep bringing me in. I've had fruit crepes here before and this time I tried a savory crepe (it had arugula, tomatoes, and herb goat cheese). They also offer salads, cookies, and sandwiches. The only problem I've encountered is that their hours are a bit untraditional so it is important to check to ensure you aren't missing them. (I've forgotten about this and tried to visit when they have been closed). I've come up with a simple limerick to help myself remember when they are open. Here it goes... If Ivory Table I Want To Munch Think Monday to Friday Employee Lunch Eleven to Three Berries and Brie Fancy French Crepe Midweek Brunch (They are open M-F 11-3pm) Never fear, mommy bloggers, they serve great coffee (Strong, fresh Roast House with a chilled pitcher of cream) and have highchairs available. I've also heard rumors that they do "Build Your Own Feast" catering and fancy exclusive dinners, so I'm keeping them on my radar for those.

However when we finally got the order the salad was medium size with 3 strips of super bloody steak on top. The Business: I think this place is new, but I was able to find a Fan Page on Facebook, and it allowed me to find their information. Located in Renton?? It's so close to home! (well, closer than Seattle is). I felt bad because during MC5, this place had steady customers, though no where near the line that El Camion had (which was right next door). However, being that TBB hasn't earned its place in the hearts of mobile food stand lovers yet, I see why some people might be skeptical to try it. The Food: DELICIOUS. I ordered the coconut chicken slider and had a bite of the kobe beef slider. The coconut chicken was scrumptious! The chicken was breaded and so crispy on the outside and the meat was perfectly cooked and tender on the inside. It felt like I was biting into a fish sandwich (well, almost). The coconut was sweet and delectable. The kobe beef sliders were tasty as well. The aioli it was coated with had a nice spice profile. Both of these little sliders packed a punch of flavor! I'll definitely be looking for you on the streets! I hope you guys do well :-D

He loves to cook, and it shows in the quality of his food. When we did a tasting with him, he gave us some ideas, coached us on what food would be best for our venue, and accommodated our special requests. When we left, the Mrs. and I both mentioned we were glad he would be at our wedding, even it was as a guest. Great guy. On the day of the wedding, Scott handled the food perfectly, we didn't stress about a single thing. Everyone loved the menu, the appetizers were delicious, and the signature mashed potatoes are divine. Scott is the best, prices are reasonable, certainly under-priced for the level of quality and service he provides. Very very happy with our caterer!
