We contracted with the junkluggers to clean out my mom's apartment on Wednesday June 24th. On June…read more18th, I had emailed Junkluggers the certificate of insurance that my mother's building required. On June 23rd at 9AM, I called to see if the COI was ready to be sent to the building and I was told it was not done yet. I called at noon and at 3:00 and every time was told the same thing, it was being worked on. Then at 4:00 I was told the Internet was down and the COI would not be sent until the following morning which was the day of the appointment. I reminded them that if the building did not get the COI, the appointment would have to be canceled. Thankfully the district manager was able to email the COI to me at 5:00 which I then forwarded to the building management. When we had made our appointment, we were told we'd be getting four workers and two trucks to clean out the apartment, instead one truck and two men showed up. The men who showed up did a good job but once the truck was filled, they had to leave. My mother's apartment building did not allow furniture removal after 4PM and we were told the company had no idea when the second truck would arrive. We were advised to reschedule and have the second truck come Friday morning. We were told we would be first on the schedule for Friday, but the truck did not arrive at my mom's apartment until almost 11 o'clock. The two men on the second truck had a lot of problems figuring out how to remove the remaining furniture from the apartment and had to be told several times to take out all the remaining furniture and bags. Pro: They honored the estimate even though our final load was slightly more than estimated Con: The COI should had been completed earlier and not delayed until right before the appointment. When you contract for four men with two trucks, that is who should show up for the job. We should not be inconvenience to have to come back a second day.

His inability to respond in a reasonable time was totally unprofessional. I had to prod him at least five times to send a countersigned contract (although he managed to go to the bank immediately to deposit my initial payment). I also had to continuously email him with questions that should have been quick, because he was unresponsive. The last thing you want to do when you're moving is micromanage your movers. I should have taken the hint from the lack of professionalism and not have worked with them, but they gave a good price for my move, so I put up with it. Big mistake. They damaged a number of my belongings on the move, and have subsequently been (big surprise!) totally unresponsive in getting everything fixed. I will also post pictures of all of the damage incurred during the move to discourage everyone else from booking with Bema Brothers. I'm contemplating taking this matter to small claims court and will certainly update the review if I win a judgment on the matter. Bottom line: do not be fooled by a competitive quote - DO NOT BOOK with these guys. You get what you pay for.
