AMAZING shop! I switched my business from another shop, the other shop was great overall but a wheelchair didn't fit well. Malliway has enough room for a wheelchair to maneuver, which is a big plus. The shop has amazing vibes, relaxed lighting and ambiance, incredible selection (and not all Llewellyn either), fun little free and cheap magical activities (I made a tiny charm bottle! and rubbed a horses skull for luck!), and the owners clearly have excellent taste. I did get to meet one of the brothers the last time we were there, and he was so delightful to talk to - knowledgeable, friendly, and eccentric dress in the best possible way. I bought a book written by the other brother, a book on a topic I'd been wanting to learn more about for a long time. Even if you just have a few bucks, it's worth stopping by for the mood, and you'll definitely want to come back later when you can engage with more funds. They also offer cute gift certificates, and you get a tiny luck gift stone with purchases. My new favorite Chicago store, I hope to visit often. read more

You've just entered into Harry Potter land only it's real and so is the clientele. We just happen to walk in when they had a grand opening of their venue space and everyone there look like they "belong" as in we're the only muggles which may or may not be sacrificed? Kidding - I think? Seriously though they tried to make us feel comfortable and suggested we spend some $ in the store. My wife did just to make sure we leave on good terms. If you don't call this authentic, I don't know what is? It's a shop filled with curiosities like shrunken boars head, horse skull, potion books, tons of chicken feet Im assuming for spell ingredients and of course a broom stick among plenty of other things. So if you want to step into Diagon alley for real? I dare you to visit. read more

This really is the best occult shop in town! They have an excellent selection of books, including limited editions, and any sort of occult supplies you might need. The staff is also very knowledgeable too, and really helpful when you need some advice on what to get or how to deal with a tricky magickal selection. They also have classes here too, which are a steal for the price, and I've learned quite a lot at them. Love this place! read more

This is a really cute store! It has fascinating items and decor. I come in here to look at their inventory all the time. I highly recommend coming and browsing the store! In terms of tarot reading services, I would suggest holding out unless you feel you really resonate with the person. I spent $25 on a reading with Barbra and went home and regretted it a bit . It felt a little rushed but I'm sure that depends on the reader. Personally , I felt uncomfortable and that the reader was giving advice personally rather than from the cards. I've never experienced this much personal input/ advice outside of the cards during the reading, so I did not resonate with this reader or reading. I found myself feeling a bit invalidated honestly. In conclusion, please do your research before you to spend money on the services here! (A couple of months later) I've also given the tarot reading services here another try and I feel it's just too vague and too expensive for what you are receiving. I keep on giving these readers a chance and kind of get disappointed with the services I receive based on the amount of money I spend. If you're willing to spend upwards of $50 for a reading I'm sure you would get a different experience but if you're not willing to pay that much and are looking for something more affordable- I would hold off here- respectfully! Cool place though!! read more

I've been going to Malliway's for about five years. I starting shopping at their old store and have continued to visit them at their current location. Blake and Wycke are friendly and knowledgable. I highly recommend their workshops. Lucas and Brandon are also great, very patient and eager to help. The selection is vast and the prices are reasonable. I'm always happy to go to a metaphysical store where many of the books are not just Llewellyn. In fact, the gentleman sell excellent books from their own publishing company, Crossed Crow Books; their books cover many subjects from common topics to the esoteric. read more

Excellent collection of mundane to esoteric items. Candles, incense, tarot and divination decks, books on tons of subjects. Crystals and jewelry - really too much to describe. Very friendly and welcoming - there are couches where you can review a book before purchase or maybe get your cards read. They also host a number of events to further support the community. Can't recommend enough. read more

As a professional who values quality and discernment, I am so grateful to have found this shop. I've been building my 'Fortress' and the tools I've found here--from the Mastery incense to the seasonings for my Justice Jar--are the real deal. The energy in the shop is grounded and respectful. If you are serious about your work and your legacy, this is the place to go in Rogers Park. 5 stars." Also they have tarot reading check it out get your monies worth. read more

I came here with a friend for a Lughnasah celebration a few days ago. I'm not into modern Wicca, just old Celtic history, archaeology and traditions, so it wasn't really my jam, but the space was lovely and the people were nice. The rituals seemed tedious and contrived, but at least the people officiating had a sense of humor. I almost splurged on a book that contained some recipes for using invasive plants (invasive weed pesto spoke to me) for a young foraging expert, but there was too much spiritual stuff in it that wouldn't have been relevant for either of us, and it was pretty pricey. Still, that experience is going to send me down a rabbit hole of research on use of invasive plants in cooking, which is pretty cool. It was my fault for expecting something like a Harvest Home drama out of Thomas Hardy, or open fires with lots of alcohol (all of which would have been a very bad idea in a small store). read more

this location is so much bigger and better than the old little cute morse location! everyone is so friendly, and the vibes are great. it's candlelit dark academia in the best way. read more

Had to give this place 5 . It's such a cute place. Francesca who was working there made me feel like I wanted to come back and stay and have tea with her. The vibe is so even and relaxing. There is a space to sit and read. And to hear about the history of the building is so nice. The book selection is quite large and there is a nice selection of herbs. I wish this place was close to me. If you go to visit please tell her that Paul, the flight attendant sent you. read more

An excellent resource for all things occult. I have been there two times in the past 6 months or so and both times staff were welcoming, very helpful, unpretentious, accessible, and easy to talk to. They stock a large variety of books, crystals, herbs, candles and much more at really fair prices. I appreciate that I can explore and feel welcomed into the community even though my knowledge is limited. read more

The Malliway brothers host the most interesting classes, the most well thought out and fun rituals, and are genuinely personable and kind. The offerings on sale are very high quality, both books and supplies. Highly recommend! read more

People there are enormously helpful, knowledgeable and very, very kind. It's not a scary "occult place" at all. It has a very warm, inviting feeling to it; you definitely want to "stay around" for a long time, as it and the Brothers have such a great vibe. If you like Tarot cards and potions...these are your guys. I'm glad it's popular...it already looks like they can expand! read more

Went in this store with my daughter in law to purchase tarotdeck for a gift. We were immediately greeted upon entrance and the lady working continued to check on every customer in store as well as patiently answering all questions asked. Idk her name but she was very knowledgeable about everything in the store as well as trying to make every customer welcome. We were invited to come back even if it's just to sit and read a book and have a cup of tea. This shop has anything you can think of for occult supplies. Highly recommend this shop. read more

A great selection of items, from incense to tarot to books, as well as an informative and helpful staff! It's right off the Morse red line stop, so it's easy to get to, and an excellent starting point for exploring the area! read more

If you are searching for the most authentic place to find all your materia magica, Grimoires, magical advice or,most importantly, the skills of two true village cunning men-this is your place. You can even just come in and cuddle up on the couch and read from their library. They also host classes and wonderful gatherings, get on their email list! I can't wait until they move to their new space at the corner of Morse and Glenwood. Blake and Wycke are gifted practitioners of the Magical Arts who can prescribe and mix a potion with a spell that honestly will serve you. They're always expanding their knowledge of the Art by visiting Cornwall, England (when the World allows it) You'll love the Malliway brothers and the magic they have the ability to bring to your life! read more

FANTASTIC little neighborhood shop that carries all of your magical needs! Herbs, candles, books, oils, incense and even concierge spells. Very knowledgeable and excellent vibes when you walk in. Not dark or void, like some of the shops in Chicago, but very light and welcoming. Lots of great online and a few in person workshops, too. read more

I can't say enough great things about this shop. Go here immediately for all your esoteric and witchcraft goods. Blake and Wycke (so sorry if that's misSPELLed see what I did there) are so kind and welcoming and knowledgeable of their craft and it really comes through in the quality of their shop. Spells, tarot, candles, literature etc are in abundance and it's also fun to hang out and have a chat with the boys. There isn't a shop cat but they love cats so big bonus. read more
