I took a workshop with the owner. I asked him to help me and he said, "this is the last time. Don't…read moreask me again for heip." I was taken aback because first, I hadn't asked him for any help until then, and second I paid for this workshop and that was his job to teach. I went back once after that and he was still arrogant and overbearing. I don't recommend this school unless you're pretty tough skinned and don't mind being scolded. Way too controlling for me.

From the owner: Pro's Art Atelier teaches the techniques of drawing, perspective and composition in oil painting…read more Students are guided through the styles of Classical Realism, Naturalism, Gesture and Impressionism. Students work in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. People work in the school as one big family, helping and encouraging one another. Many students work hard to better themselves, but still think of the group not just of themselves. Students are able to use tilting desk tops or easels. The students can leave Still Life sets up and work on them continually every time they come. The gallery is located throughout the building and is a sumptuous display of artwork. The public is welcome to come in and browse/view the works any time a class is in progress. The visitors are free to talk to the individual students and ask questions regarding their art. Workshops are of numerous types. We have in class drills during regular classes so that we may work altogether on the same theme during that one class, example: painting trees or a face. Occasionally workshops are held Saturday afternoons, Sunday or Thursday mornings. We also have live model drawing and painting classes. We also invite a variety of guest instructors from around the world to teach. Past teachers include Zhoaming Wu, Sherrie McGraw, Robert Johnson, & Rick Weaver.

I'd give no stars if I could. Very disappointing overall experience. This was my first time trying…read morepottery, am I to believe all places are like this? It wasn't even a class, it was video-direction on an iPad. (Fair enough. Maybe that was mentioned in the fine print. I never checked.) Additionally, the staff wasn't at all helpful with any questions. I was brushed off. Again, this is my first ever pottery experience. Pretty salty at this point. Second visit was to paint the items. Again, no help. There were other classes going on in the same room (in-person ones, not video.) I had to ask others painting theirs pieces questions. Luckily, they were very helpful! 3rd visit: Pick up the items, (staff was busy and again, brushed off) one item was smashed and the other was cracked. The glaze wasn't even all the way to the bottom of the pieces. Careless? Inexperience? Who knows. (See photos if I'm able to share them here.) Do not recommend this place. Save your money. Go somewhere else.

I've been to 4Cats Art Studio with my children now a couple of times - for school activities and…read morebirthday parties. Most recently, I stopped in yesterday, to drop off money towards a little girl's birthday account because all she wants for her birthday is money towards art classes here! Yep, it's that good! From splatter paint parties (and I hear they are brining in black light splatter paint parties) to drawing to 3-D canvas painting with clay, 4Cats does it all. Family nights, field trips, classes, you name it - they can probably do it! Check out their website for current projects: http://4cats.com/stalbert/ The staff are always friendly, creative, and super awesome with kids which is what it's all about! Birthday parties will run you about $20 a kiddo and the kid leaves with an art project they made - WAY better than a loot bag! Party bookings are held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and are times for 1 hour 45 minutes to include a project and treat time. Parties are geared for 3 years of age and up. I was just checking out the site and my son is already clamouring for one of the Star Wars themed ones where they make a clay yoda! I can foresee a party or two or three coming up here for my kiddos' birthday parties! 4Cats - You seem pretty purrfect to me! PS - Remember to dress in clothes/shoes/socks/hair accessories you don't mind getting stained even if it is for a princess birthday party :-)
