They even called me back after I had more questions but I didn't even leave a message. On our way to our appt they called to see if we needed ride over? He was super chill and professional and maintains the safety of all tourists while ensuring you have the best time out on the water. We had a great time out on the water -- the jet skis were in good condition, and the rental process was smooth at first. Unfortunately, the customer service after the fact left a lot to be desired. The business holds your credit card while you're out riding, and I accidentally forgot to get mine back before leaving town. I called as soon as I realized, and Mike told me he had my card and would mail it back. That was over a month ago. Since then, I've called and texted multiple times with no response. When I finally got in touch, Mike casually said he had just gotten back from Las Vegas and would "look into it." I haven't heard from him since, and I still don't have my card. It's frustrating and unprofessional to be ignored, especially when it involves something as important as a credit card. The fun experience doesn't make up for the lack of accountability. read more

I called ahead to inquire about tent rentals and chairs . I looked around on their website and rented 3 paddle boards a tent and chairs. It was fairly priced. When I got there I was indifferent about renting jet ski because I didn't want to risk damage and I wanted to have a drink with my husband. We got there got settled. The boys at the counter were just hanging out. They helped us out got us set up. Not perfect customer service definitely not the worst. Which I experienced a lot of in Florida! People down here are jerks! So these boys were saints. As for the jet skis. I was on the website and it clearly says they have a zero alcohol tolerance! What is so hard to understand that. This review is what it is... My family and I stayed at Shepherd's resort because it was close to all the entertainment including the featured watersport business Makin Waves. Let's start here. I had a reservation for 4 Beach chairs 2 umbrellas and 2 tables... Now we were original told that ALL RESERVATIONS had to go through the online system due to COVID. So we did just that. But they take walkups for chair rentals, which was confusing At 2pm, when we went to the beach, there were no available chairs.... this was a total bummer because we have small children and wanted them to be close... but we were refunded. So we skip all the reservations that only has availability for 2-3 Jetskis and choose the 5pm slot to accommodate 4 adults. We come back quarter till, just to be told we couldn't all go together because they were having issues.... So not only do we not have chairs, but now we can't jetski as a family.... this sucks considering we spent our whole day waiting. Now what I can say is that the staff really tried to accommodate us, we did agree to just cancel one of the jetskis and my husband and the teens go in the water and that worked out perfectly an hour and a half after after our scheduled Reservation. Now the staff there are all super sweet which is why they got 2 stars..... but because of the inconvenience and I feel the system shouldn't overbook is why they're not rated higher. Worst Jet ski rental ever!!! We were told to make a booking online thru their website and we did. We setup the "appointment" for 2:30pm and were there 1/2 before as required. At 2:30pm there was no Jetski, a Jetski arrived at 4pm but there were 4 people in line before us! ¿Why set a time just to make you wait? At 3:40pm our jetski arrived and we departed 2 about a mile in our jetski started malfunctioning and had to go all way back at 3 miles per hour took us 20 to return, they saw that the jetski was bad and gave us another one that had just arrived but refused to give us the hour we paid for. The Jetski won't go over 30-35 miles and they have sensor and GPS so' they keep locking and 5 miles per hour when other Jetskis are close is annoying as FU(k!!! When we got back the guy in the water literally push us yelling out of the Jetski to get other people on it before we even turned off. Went back to the service shack to get back my credit card and had to wait another 25 minutes because they were busy with other customers!!!! Service 0/10 Jetski 0/10 Staff. 0/10. Very nice employees that were very helpful. They were running behind on the tours when I went so I'm 1:30 time slot got pushed back to 2:15. I didn't mind waiting because I did come last minute and picked the first slot they had. You do need to get a temporary boating license and if you don't have a credit card for a deposit you need $500 cash or a debit card (which will take 1-2 days for the refund) so I opted for cash which was given back immediately after I was done. Super fun time on the banana boat. Staffing was a bit rough and they didn't seem to be the MOST organized, but Captain Dave was a good time and made it fun for us. We did spend quite a bit of time sitting around on the banana, while my teens would have rather been flying around, but I appreciated the break to catch my breath in between rides. My abs hurt from laughing so hard. I only wish that he would have told us when our time was almost up so we could have savored our last ride. My boyfriend went here the day before and had issues with the sensors I guess with going 5mph when getting close to others. He still liked it enough for him to go again the very next day with me. We had to wait 45 mins for our jet skis which wasn't a big deal. I know everything's kind of been a mess since the Covid-19. We already had our boating license so checking in was quick and easy. They give you a free locker to put your stuff in with a lock which is nice. The ocean was pretty choppy. I'm not sure what number Ski my boyfriend had but I had 7 I believe. There were no censors. We stayed close to each other the whole time. My boyfriends said his wouldn't go over 50 MPH but mine maxed out at 73 at one point. It was FAST. We have the blue & white yahama's. I fell off at one point lol but got right back on. They have a pull down step in the back. At the end dolphins came by us!!!! Close enough to touch for about 20 mins. It made my whole experience/day. I like to ask many questions and not once was he annoyed. He answered everything and more. They have a special for $10 off if you ride before 12:00PM. That is already a win for me! My boyfriend and I arrived at 10AM and had jet skis ready for us! We took our boating class prior to arriving (highly suggest this) and had it printed for the crew to view. Matt and Jacent were very helpful and made me feel super comfortable on my jet ski. I came in 15mins early and Jacent was ready to help me off my jet ski. Overall- this was a great experience! Fun experience. Wish it was a little more forthcoming. The prices aren't fully transparent. You are required to take a test for a FL boater license ($10), and an additional $20 fee is charged for gas that is not included in the listing. We also were only given one option for times, which was a full hour when we preferred a half hour. It was a fun one time experience. Pictures were an option discussed before the ride for $20. We had 3 riders, and were basically forced to each pay for these photos without question. They were good photos, but I feel there was not much of an option for purchasing. read more

Very rude, entitled, unjust, discriminatory Jet Ski staff! I wake up at 10am have breakfast and head to the beach with friends. 2 of my friends discuss renting a jet ski and at first I wasn't interested until they secured their appointment. As they're putting on life jackets I ask the employee who signed & set them up if he takes cash, he bluntly retorts "no". So I come back with my credit card, and as I make my way towards the booth the guy assumes an unapproachable position (hunched over, arms crossed atop the booth trying not to be seen like a sasquatch). I made nothing of it, I walk up and the following ensues: Me: Hey, I'd like to sign up. Sasquatch: You're not getting on any of these jetskis. Me: *Chuckles thinking it a joke* So what's the process where do I sign? Sasquatch: I'm serious you're not getting on. Me: *removes shades* Huh??? I've got my credit card what's the reason I can't rent a jet ski? Sasquatch: *growing increasingly irritated* Clearly you're far too intoxicated and I can't let you on. If you were to blow a 0.0 on the breathalyzer I'll let you on. Me: (Taken aback) Really? That's odd because it's just after breakfast and I haven't even had a drink yet. I'm willing to take the breathalyzer test if you have one. Sasquatch: I do have one.... Me: *Blows a 0.01 on the breathalyzer* Sasquatch: Ok. A 0.01 not much but you still have some alcohol in you I can't let you on so just save your time and enjoy the rest of your day *shooing gesture* Me: (Extremely angry, perplexed and helpless, and realizing the dimwit I'm up against I just didn't respond. I leaned up against the booth and watched the horizon for a few minutes before walking away in defeat). To come across such unfounded unjust treatment in a place where you go to forget the injustices and monotony of life is scarring. The idea of racism never crossed my mind until I explained the situation to a friend. Their rental booth was right outside our hotel on the beach which was very convenient! One day we rented chairs and a beach umbrella, which you'd think the resort we were staying at would provide them, online for the following day, but because it rained all day I asked for a refund or postponement to tge next day. Well you'd think I asked a hard question by the way the guy on the phone couldn't give me a straight answer and finally asked his co-worker. A couple of days later we rented a jet ski for an hour. The gentleman who helped us, wish I would have got his name was so nice and helpful. The other two guys, especially the older man with the gray mustache were definitely NOT customer friendly. The staff was amazing! We really enjoyed our excursion. The area of exploration is small with heavy traffic, but this may be common with rentals. I have only ever been out with friends ie no boundaries, so not much of complaint but if you are used to going wherever your heart desires be prepared for this. These guys were so friendly and even cracked jokes. decided to go for the jet skiing and the process was quick. Next thing you know, we were in the water, being speed demons, having tons of fun and back on the beach with our vodkas. lacking one star since you have to be "much older" to drive the jet skis without a boating license which is quite odd since they are seriously not that hard to drive. Been jet skiing tons of times in different states and I never heard of that regulation. Kinda was a disappointment as I have done it before but I was with someone who has never jet ski'd but didn't make the age cut.
