Where do I start. I had an absolutely horrible experience with Makin Music in Parma. To preface this all, I've taken 3 other instruments in , mine and my girlfriends over the past couple years and had great service. This time was more than disappointing. I'm shocked and frustrated. It started by bringing my Gibson Les Paul, a near mint condition guitar in for a setup, new nut, and bridge pickup change. I've been used to paying $50 for the setup, and I expected it would be more than that for the other services. But they were never clear how much they would cost. I was told there were no other instruments in line and this would be getting taken care of within a couple days. A few days later I call, and they say that the tech is sick and it'll be done later in the week. I called later saying he's still sick. Fast forward two weeks and I finally get a call saying my instrument is finished. I go to pick up my instrument to find out that the total bill was $200 plus tax. That would have been nice to know it costed that much before working on it? This is even why I'm upset with this business. I take my guitar home to find that not only was it totally unplayable, the strings weren't even tied around the posts, the nut was so high off the frets that you couldn't hold an open chord. The worst was the absolute hack job they did trying to remove the nut. There's gouges surrounding the area of the nut , there was a scrape on the bottom of the guitar, and scratch marks all over the headstock. Sanding marks were also on the headstock where it looks like they over glued the nut and lazily tried to sand it off. Furious, I took it back to the shop where the man at the counter said he doesn't know what to say, and that his manager Ross would be in the following day and make sure it was made right. I called the next day and Ross assured me he would fix the issues. I go into the shop and show him everything. He agreed it was unplayable. It looked like someone's 8 year old kid tried to replace this nut. Apparently, it was a new tech named Anton. They just hired him and haven't seen a lot of his work. Ross came to the consensus that it was unfortunate what happened but there's nothing he can do to Fix the damage. I told him it was wrong to go ahead and do $200 worth of work without being transparent about pricing. He said Anton told me in person when I dropped it off that it would be $200. That was a lie. I never dropped my guitar off to Anton , nor did anyone mention how much it would be. He said there was nothing he could do about the cosmetic damage, but he would take $80 off for the setup and nut, but would charge me still for the pickup installation. He said he would get his Not what I wanted but had to settle for what I could get. I picked my guitar up a week ish later, and come to find a brand new scrape , worse than all of them, covered up with black paint. Ross told me that he doesn't believe me , and that this was on the guitar previously. Believe me when I say I'm absolutely meticulous about my belongings, especially a $1000 instrument. These scrapes were not there previously. That day Ross refunded me for the setup. I told him I wasn't going to be a customer anymore. He tried to give me a store credit for the headache, he ended up giving me some free strings. None of which will fix the absolute mess made on my guitar. Not only was it scraped. The thick E string buzzed because they filed the new nut too far down. The setup was ok other than that. But still, a busted nut. The only thing that's kept me from going to small claims , is that I don't have any close up pictures on my guitar in this areas from before the damage. I would have absolutely taken this to court and won. Please, whatever you do, never take your instruments here if you care about them. They have inexperienced techs working and will ruin your instruments. Im left with a $125 bill and a damaged Gibson guitar. I have pictures to show the damage as well

In my mid-20's, I decided to buy a guitar and learn to play. Eric is the best teacher someone could…read moreask for. He is non-judgy and inclusive to all ages, and never makes me feel like I am too old to be there. He is flexible to your schedule and is easily reachable via phone or text. You can do either 30 minute or 1 hr lessons on a weekly, scheduled basis. Eric is enormously talented yet very patient with his students. He runs his lessons from his home, but the parking is easy, and located in the very safe area near Edgewater Park in Lakewood. While he's classically trained, Eric's personal love of music shines in his work, and he can teach you to play nearly any song you want to learn. God bless him for entertaining my desire to learn a Goo Goo Dolls song that's taking me a longgg time to master. Eric is the guy to see for guitar or bass lessons in the Cleveland area-- whether you are a beginner or an expert just looking to jam with a cool person.

He's a hell of a guitar player, very good at explaining the theory side of things (he's the king of analogies), and a great sense of humor. With so much experience, a great rate and a comfortable lesson environment, what more could you really need or want? Check Eric out!
