Fun and Informative!…read more We booked this tour for the first morning of our Paris adventure for two reasons: 1) We expected to be tired from the cross-Atlantic flight the previous day and didn't want to do anything too strenuous right away; and 2) We wanted to get an overview of the city before exploring area by area. We chose the "Paris highlights by e-mehari" because the vehicle seemed more open and quieter than the other car options. That decision paid off wonderfully. Both of us sat in the back, and the views were unobstructed. The city is certainly not quiet, but at least we could hear each other without having to shout over the sound of the car's engine. Anyway, about the tour itself... It lasts about 90 minutes, and there is a lot of flexibility. We could choose where we wanted to, and where the pick up and drop off locations would be. We decided to do the standard let's-see-where-all-of-the-important-sites-are tour, which was an absolute blast. Our guide (Antoine?) did a great job of explaining all the important - and some of the not-so-important - details, and took us through some side areas we probably would not have found on our own. When it was all over, he dropped us off at Place Vosges and we continued our adventure in the Bastille area. If you can fit it into your budget, the private tour is worth the extra expense. I just tonight went on the Midnight in Paris on Wheels tour. First off-- Nicolas was so great to communicate with for booking and confirming the tour. It was easy to contact him by email or Facebook. When you are coming from out of the country, that makes all the difference. Very much appreciated. He incorporates a mix of history, culture, and interesting tips into his tours. We did the photo package, and he honestly made us feel like celebrities. I mean, who doesn't like (or deserve that) every once in a while, especially on a trip to Paris?! It was well worth the money. The latest addition of a see through roof ensured that we were cozy for the midnight ride during the beautifully lit cold evening in Paris for the new years. Nicolas picked us from our hotel and so began the joy ride. He made sure he took us to the landmarks in Paris but along the way he revealed the secrets of the local nook and corner of the city. Every time we stopped by one of the many gorgeous remnants of Paris's history, Nicolas took candid pictures of us. Very quickly we realized how popular Nicholas is in Paris. So if you have any questions at all or need suggestions, ask him. We were also given a fine bottle of champagne which we enjoyed by the Eiffel Tower at the stroke of midnight as it sparkles for one last time for the day. Can you beat that? Ofcourse! We then stopped by a local creperie to devour the best crepes in Paris. Did I fail to mention the looks you get all along as you drive through Paris. It's as if the car is the darling of the city. It was always a dream for me to get married in Paris ( a girl can still dream ) I took a beautiful walk last evening to see the tower lit up and truly brought tears to my eyes and so many emotions. This morning, I decided to take a jog around the tower and then sit and journal and enjoy my croissant and latte . I feel like I'm in scenes from sex and the city, the devil wears Prada and Emily in Paris all in one lol. The way up to the top was so magical I was shaking at the beauty of my view. Ticket price was not too bad and it helped my Parisian friend was there to help get me a good discount. I made reservations to dine here later today so I am super excited. I was surprised there are eateries on the multi-level tower. I visited at night and the view of the city illuminated below. There are stairs and an elevator with separate ticket prices depending which option you choose. I took a star off because the man selling the tickets was rude. Grumpy people should not be working in tourism.

Very convenient! The area is full of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and charm. Every time we came into or left the building, someone was greeting us. All the staff spoke English and were very helpful if we needed anything. We booked a standard size room. It wasn't really big of a room (reminded me of a NY size hotel), but we were very happy with it. Queen size bed, closet, coat hanger, desk, and separate bathroom. The size of the room didn't bother us since we were out on the streets exploring. Housekeeping was great. They cleaned up and organized everything when we came back to our hotel. Anytime you left the hotel, you give your key to the first desk. That lets them know that your room is free to clean and you don't have to worry about losing the key. The hotel offered complimentary breakfast. Every morning we had croissants, scrambled eggs, turkey sliced, baguettes, cheeses, expresso, tea, fruit salad, and other baked goods. We made sure to load up on breakfast since the US Dollar isn't worth much. The cons: The Wifi connection was very poor. I am not sure if it had something to do with our American phones, but it was very annoying. The mini refrigerator wouldn't open. You had to have a key to open it. We had bought stuff from the La Grande Epicurerie market and couldn't store our food. Overall, we were very pleased to have stayed here. I would definitely book this hotel again next time we visit Paris!

We were greeted warmly and began the check in process in the main lounge area. Since our rooms weren't ready at the time we were checking in, we decided to go out grab lunch and return right after check-in. It is a very quaint and charming place with a small elevator, but large enough to fit a few adults. We went up to our room and it was absolutely lovely! We had a room facing the main street with double french doors to welcome some fresh air and look out at all of the foot traffic passing underneath. The bathroom is generously sized for Paris and was absolutely adorable with L'Occitane products provided. There were sparkles in the bathroom tiles to give you a hint of fabulousness as you shower. There was also a table and two chairs along with a large TV and an extremely comfortable bed flight by two bookcase shelves on each side. I loved that they also provide bottled water and a few complimentary drinks in the fridge. We spent every evening in the lounge area chatting amongst ourselves and made acquaintances with a lovely Brit couple that happened to be on their 10th visit to Hotel Monge. They provide free tea and coffee all day along with snacks and a generous honor bar, which I absolutely loved. As well as a hammam in the basement. Definitely clears your pores and skin and makes you feel so refreshed! Without question, I have found my Parisian home each time I return.

We went to several other places to no avail. As we were leaving another hotel we were feeling frustrated and sad, but looked and saw the Hotel Monge close by to our location. From the moment we walked in Hotel Monge, it was warm and inviting. The crisp, clean product was amazing and the staff we would encounter was even better. Camille was fantastic! She was thoughtful, genuine, reassuring and made us feel welcome. N.G. also extended superior customer service, actually, everyone we encountered was magnificent. Our background for most of our careers was in management in major hotels so we recognize well run properties with top notch staff and that's what the Hotel Monge is. Ending up at this fine boutique hotel by accident truly was serendipitous. Highly recommend!!
