After doing some research and looking at photos, I chose Flawless Finish for myself, my two MOH and my mother. I booked a trial with Danielle at their studio is South Philly, and she was an absolute sweetheart - very easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, and gave me exactly that. I had never had my makeup done by anyone before that day, but Danielle made it a very easy, fun experience. The day of the wedding, Danielle arrived earlier than her scheduled time to allow for set up. She was very fun and interacted with everyone in the room. She did everyone else first, and all of the girls were very happy with their makeup. When it was my turn, I asked for a couple of changes from what we had done in the trial, and Danielle took direction and gave me everything I asked for....I got SO many compliments on my makeup throughout the night, and it looked just as flawless at midnight as it had at 3pm! Melissa was also fantastic - she was the person that I booked through, she answered all of my questions quickly via email, and even sent reminders and a tip sheet before the big day. Their appointments get filled up really fast so you have a keep an eye out on when they open them up. I snagged a spot with Susannah, but honestly all of them do amazing work. She made it super comfortable and my eyebrows came out amazing. Structured yet natural looking. They come out super dark in the beginning but then fade a bit as your skin accepts the ink and scabs. However, when I called to make an appointment, I was told she no longer does microblading and that I needed to come in for a consultation. During the consult, I was told that my brows were too pigmented and needed lightening treatments before they could be redone. I went through a series of six lightening treatments, each costing around $150. After the treatments, I was finally able to get my brows done again. A year later, I received a message from the salon reminding me that it was time for my yearly touch-up. When I tried to schedule, I was informed that the artist who originally worked on my brows was no longer there. I was asked to send pictures of my brows to a new artist, which I did, and then asked when I could come in. I responded that I was available anytime. Later, I received a message saying I needed to come in for another consultation to make sure the new artist could do my brows, and only then could I schedule an appointment. Now, I'm being told once again that my brows are too pigmented and that I need to wait until December. I was told my brows had too much pigment when I first started going, and now I'm hearing the same thing again. The issue isn't that I'm not due for a touch-up; it's the frustrating scheduling process and inconsistent information. It's not my fault that my original artist is no longer there. I sent the requested pictures and was initially told the procedure could be done, only to later be told that I need another consultation and that my brows are too pigmented. I feel that there's a lack of honesty and transparency, and I'm not sure who or what to trust anymore.

Her rules were laid out from the moment I signed her contract. I had nothing to compare them to since this was my first time as a bride. Others told me how excessive her rules seemed but after scouring reviews and stalking photos of makeup artists, I knew Charlotte was the makeup artist for me! I was thrilled that she was available on our date and would be able to work with my girls and I for my big day! At the trial I felt like Charlotte and I were old friends. She was fun, nice and a joy to work with. Then things changed... Unfortunately, 1 of my bridesmaids was diagnosed with breast cancer less than 2 months before the wedding. This was obviously a shocking, life-altering scenario. My friend had no idea what was in store for her. She didn't know if or when she would be having surgery, therefore she didn't know if she would still be able to be a part of our wedding day. I reached out to Charlotte via e-mail and filled her in on what was going on. I let her know that my friend was still waiting to hear from the doctor to see what her treatment plan would be and when her surgery would be scheduled. I was told that she was very sorry to hear this but unfortunately, the next day would mark 1 month until my wedding date and I would need to let her know by then if I would be including my friend or not. If I did, I needed to pay for her. If not, I could possibly add her on after the fact but there were no guarantees. The lack of understanding/empathy blew me away. I was not about to tell my friend that she had to pay for her makeup even though she may wind up even being able to participate. I also didn't want to pay purely on the principle that if she wasn't able to participate, this woman would be making money off of my friend's unavoidable tragedy. I went back and forth and decided to take my friend off of the list because I didn't want to risk her being unable to come. I e-mailed less than 12 hours off of the "30 day deadline" and I was told that unfortunately I was now within 30 days of the wedding and I couldn't take my friend off of the list so I would have to pay for her in full no matter what. I am a bride. A teacher bride at back to school time with less than a month to plan and a friend/bridesmaid that literally just sobbed on my shoulder after receiving a shocking diagnosis. I lost track of 12 hours of time and THIS was the response?!?! It was truly disgusting. I understand having rules. I understand needing to stick to them. A good business owner knows when to be strict and when to be a human being. EVERY OTHER VENDOR was understanding, they told me not to worry about it, to let them know even if it was at the last minute and they were so sorry, etc. Not Charlotte. She did not care about anything other than her rules. This 1 bridesmaid was not changing anything. We needed 2 makeup artists whether she was able to get her makeup done or not. There was literally no reason for her to be this strict about it. It was heartless and it shocked me. I would hate to be in a contract with her during COVID because I can imagine it's a nightmare due to her lack of flexibility and understanding. Charlotte does a beautiful job on makeup. If you are guaranteed not to have any unavoidable tragedies come up, sign the contract. If not...beware!
