When I was planning for my original wedding for 10/10/20, I reached out to Shelby (WELL in advance) but sadly she was already booked. Fast forward to peak covid, we made the decision to postpone the wedding to 10/23/21 and the only vendor that wasn't able to accommodate our new date was the MUA I previously hired. I was an out of town bride so we ended up doing a trial a few months later when I was visiting for the weekend and she made all of my wedding makeup dreams come true. On top of her extremely talented makeup skills, she is incredibly sweet, has the best energy/so fun to be with and we hit it off instantly. I even decided to do a 2nd trial/glam sesh when I was in town again a couple months before the wedding, just because! Shelby recently opened up her own makeup glam bar/studio Toniq, and we decided to use the studio to get ready on wedding day. It was literally a dream! Toniq is THE most fabulous studio ever and I still can't even believe we had such an amazing location to get ready. We had 9 girls total for both makeup & hair and more than enough space for all of us to glam, and set up breakfast and drinks. Booking Shelby was one of the very first thing I did when planning my wedding and I am so so so happy I did! I hate to admit it but I was a little intimidated by Shelby before meeting her just because she is super glam and I wasn't sure we would have much in common. Ok, so basically Shelby is absolutely AMAZING. When I started the whole wedding process, she was my absolute first choice for a makeup artist. Unfortunately, I procrastinated and by the time I contacted her, she was booked. I was planning a pin-up inspired costume for comic con and was also planning on meeting up with talented photographers so I could have good quality photos. I do make-up okay for stuff that's just day-to-day, but I wanted my make-up to be ON POINT for this. First, I just need to say that Shelby is an AMAZING makeup artist and I couldn't have been more happy with my makeup on my wedding day. I contacted Shelby to be my makeup artist for my wedding about a year in advance. Throughout the year, she touched base with me multiple times and always got back to me with any questions or concerns that I had. The day before my wedding, I sat out in the sun just a little too long and got a nice little sunburn on my chest and arm. Of course when Shelby saw me the next morning she made me feel at ease and told me she could help to make it not so noticeable. Once she was done applying my face makeup, she mixed a couple colors and helped to spread it on my chest to make the red not so apparent. When she was done I was almost in tears with how happy I was with everything. No one could tell that I had gotten sunburned and I received so many compliments on my makeup. Shelby showed up early for her appointment time to set up, was so sweet and professional. She did my makeup as well as our moms, aunts and bridesmaids; everyone looked stunning.
