I wasn't as impressed with the tour as others were. The operation is extremely small. From the raised platform above the fermentation tanks, you can see everything. It was a high level walk thru. The tasting was intimate. Our host Kim did a great job walking us through the tasting experience. My favorite was the Minor Case Rye paired with the orange truffle. The other bourbons weren't in my flavor profile, so this is probably my only time coming here.

What's really cool is that you get to view a working distillery in progress! This isn't some museum, it's the real facility. Out of all of them, Willett ended up being our favorite. We had Michael as our tour guide, and he was fantastic. The tour felt a little different from the others because we got to taste different bourbons throughout the tour instead of all at once at the end. Michael was gregarious, funny, and a great storyteller. He kept everyone engaged while sharing the history of the distillery, the bourbon-making process, and plenty of entertaining stories along the way. One of my favorite parts was seeing all of the photos of the distillery cats at the beginning of the tour. As cat lovers, we absolutely loved that. This distillery has clearly been blessed by some very cute feline employees! We enjoyed tasting the different bourbons, and while the gift shop wasn't huge, it had some really unique items. We even brought home a catnip toy for our two kitties. If you're visiting the Bardstown area, I highly recommend adding Willett to your list. The tour was great, even though we had terrible weather with a big storm coming through. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and answered all of my questions without hesitation. The tasting room is super nice and there is plenty of space for a big group so you aren't crowded. I loved that they teach you about the different mashbills and how to tell which is which on their bottles. They have a lot of great items in the gift shop - I bought my dad a shirt and also got one for myself, along with a little baby snifter. Come check it out, you'll be glad that you did!

The structure has two rooms, a gift shop and a tasting room. We skipped a tour (we've been on so many) and headed to the bar. Kelly had a cocktail and I had a flight of Penelope, 1 rye and 2 bourbons. They were solid pours for $17, and I had a decent buzz when I left - the bourbons were 104 and 114 proof, as is the style these days. I especially liked the rye, smooth and spicy. The Architect bourbon was hotter than the barrel proof but both were still good. Lux Row also makes Remus, and the 6 year high rye bourbon is superb - a full bodied, easy drinking pour. If you live in Illnois, its often on sale at Binny's.

The majority of our group became friends while attending Purdue University together--Boiler Up! We were excited to learn that Log Still's owner, Wally Dant, is also a Purdue alumnus and has even produced a Purdue-labeled bourbon. On the day of our visit, we had spent the day touring several distilleries in the Bardstown area, with Log Still serving as our final stop. Unfortunately, our schedule made it impossible to arrive in time for the last scheduled tasting. After reaching out in advance, the Log Still team graciously adjusted their plans and stayed late to accommodate our group. When we arrived, Wally was there waiting to welcome us personally. He spent nearly two hours with us, providing an in-depth tour of the property, explaining the bourbon-making process, and sharing the rich history of both the Dant family and the property itself. Learning about the family's contributions to bourbon dating back to the industry's early days added a unique and meaningful dimension to the experience. The facilities at Log Still are truly first-class. They strike an impressive balance between honoring bourbon's heritage and embracing modern innovation. Beyond the distillery itself, the entire property has been thoughtfully designed to create a complete destination experience. It is evident that great care has gone into every aspect of the campus. The bourbon produced at Log Still is exceptional, and their gin is equally impressive. More importantly, the hospitality and passion demonstrated by Wally and his team elevated the visit far beyond a typical distillery tour. This was our first visit and we were able to secure 5 Trace Tour tickets for our group, which worked out perfectly since two others opted not to go on a tour (they had craft cocktails in the bar area! Win-win). The tour gave a nice overview of the history and the bourbon process. I plan to take one of their other tours in the future for more in-depth knowledge. The tour is free and you get a tasting of 4 of their bourbons at the end (plus a piece of their amazing chocolate.) The gift shop has everything you could possibly want related to BT. They also have nice selection of bourbons available for purchase that I'm not able to easily find in PA. On the day we visited they were giving out samples of their new RTD bourbon lemonade and their bourbon cream with root beer. Needless to say, we purchased all three of these items! We did grab lunch at the John Carlise café on-site. It was delicious and affordable. We had the Bluegrass Melt which was loaded with meat and came with chips. Their chocolate chip cookies are also quite tasty. I recommend grabbing a bite to eat here. Overall, I was very impressed with the organization of the BT tourist operations. They efficiently moved hundreds of people through quickly, while still creating a welcoming place. The friendliness of all the staff is commendable. We will return in the future!
