This place is 5 mins from my house! I've been following Abby on IG for about two months and was ready to book since I loved everything she posted! She put up a post that she had a cancellation and I knew I had to jump on the spot. Once I got in for my appointment Abby offered me some coffee and doughnuts in her gorgeous salon. She listened to me, made sure every step of the way she knew exactly what I wanted and asked a ton of questions to be clear. Some things I wasn't sure what I wanted and I told her to do what she thinks is best. Man am I glad I did that, because she really is good at what she does. She's amazing at holding conversations as well as making sure she pays attention to what she's doing! I would highly recommend her to everyone! Abby always makes me look like a billion bucks after our time together. Whether I'm getting my curls revived or color or just cutting it all off and styling it like Tboz in an angled bob, I feel comfortable having Abby manage my next hair adventure. Make U Up Studio is the total experience!! Abby Elton (owner) is a creative, honest, and sweet person. The minute you walk in the door, you feel like you are in a spa. The decor is beautiful, the people are welcoming (which is a big selling point for me especially after many horrible experiences at snooty Beverly Hills salons), and on top of it all... champagne! This was my first time at the salon, and I loved every minute. I had never put color into my hair before (I wanted balayage highlights but was still nervous), but Abby put me to ease. She made me comfortable, and let me know she wanted to give me a natural 'sun kissed' look. I felt like she really 'got' the look I was going for and made sure I knew throughout the appointment what she was doing (very consultative approach). At the end, I LOVED my hair and Abby told me I look like a Victoria's Secret model (made me love the salon even more)!! I always leave feeling (and looking) like a new woman and a valued client. I am guilty of not visiting as often as I should, but when I do, it feels like catching up with an longtime friend who genuinely cares about me. Her new studio is a definite upgrade from her previous location, and has a glamorous but classy and soothing vibe to it. It's really apparent that she's put a lot of attention into the design and details for an excellent client experience -- the furnishings are stylish yet comfortable, the beverages and treats delicious, the magazines current and the lighting/music levels just right.
