I had never been to a painting event before coming here, but the idea of this event was too good to miss out on. When I came in, I was kindly greeted and instructed to go downstairs. The room was decorated with all sorts of anime and comic artwork/memorabilia with the TV playing the Mandalorian in the background. The instructor Heather was super encouraging and friendly and really made the experience enjoyable! The Aprons, paint, towels, and canvases were all provided. Overall great experience. 10/10 would recommend.

LONG BRANCH: Blue Skies Pottery is a new addition to the popular Pier Village complex and it…read moreprovides a fun activity for people of all ages! A full service pottery shop, customers have the option to paint ready-made pottery, use a pottery wheel to craft a piece from scratch, or really get hands-on and use your hands to mold your own beautiful work of art. At the Yelp New Jersey Elite event, the hand building class was quite an experience where the friendly owners and staff showed us how to take a ball of clay and using pinch pot form, style it into a bowl. Once the bowl shape took form, we embellished the clay with molds to add design elements. I loved the paw print mold! The staff was very helpful to assist and made sure the art was sturdy and ready for the oven. We got to pick what color we wanted and the staff will paint it later. Pieces are usually ready 3-4 weeks after your visit, so it is a great reason to come back to the area to pick up the finished art. I loved to learn the location is dog friendly, as long as your dog is well-behaved. Since the experience requires full attention and is hands-on, being in control of your pup is extra important. There was a doggie guest there during my visit and was a perfect pup. Blue Skies Pottery also hosts events and collaborates with local businesses including hosting a paw print ornament workshop with the pet store next door. Thanks to Katarina for planning this event and to the owners Valerie & Jordan for welcoming us! Nimra & Andrew were helpful staff members and supportive of all the creativity. In addition to Long Branch, they also have a store in Hoboken!

Robin explained everything very clearly and everyone had a turn to do something whether is was to stir, pour, take temperatures, etc. Great for family/friends or couples. When we walked in (upstairs), our table was already set so we could relax and enjoy after cheese making. Robin provided so many amazing oils and vinegars to accompany our cheese. She had blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries along with crostini and olives. I would give a ten star rating, if possible. It's a BYOB, too! I can't wait to pick another class.

This summer 2023 I decided to spend some time to explore pottery making. I chose this studio…read morebecause I wanted to try out pottery making first with a one day experience ( use the wheel with their expert guidance, create a finished piece and paint the piece). I loved my process during the one day wheel experience and decided to take their 4 week wheel classes. I mostly learned from their staff Danielle and she was an excellent teacher! One day wheel experience - $48 per person - perfect friend hangout or date activity! - make 1 piece on the wheel with expert staff guidance with options to make 1 more piece on your own - paint your piece with engobes paint and pick up your piece after a few weeks! 4 week classes - $200 total- such a good deal! Weekly 1 hr classes that includes all supplies, glazes and firing - make atleast 2 pieces depending on how your skills progress throughout the classes. I made 6 pieces but only took home 4! - I was a beginner so Danielle focused on throwing cylinders. However I wish there could be more variety in throwing different shapes- like a bowl - I learned so much from each class from wedging clay, centering, making even walls, trimming, making and attaching handles I loved my experience here and I'll be back to utilize their studio space for wheel throwing as well as glaze some of their premade pieces
