I appreciate their knowledge of tax procedures and law, and I'm willing to pay for it. Our preparer this year apologized that the cost per form had gone up a bit, but our total wasn't much more than usual, so we can just go with it. And the cost is always deductible for the following year. We make an appointment on a weekend day each year and make a half-day of it. After our 9am appointment this year, we had breakfast while we waited for the computer entry and filing, picked up our info again, and were home by noon.

I would like to pass along my experience with Derby Accounting to others that are seeking a…read moreprofessional Accountant to handle either their personal and/or business taxes. I sought David out for a small business we started and he was more than helpful right from the start. David spent quality time answering my questions and concerns about starting a small business and how exactly to handle my bookkeeping for this business. I was extremely pleased with the level of competence and patience we were given by David with all of our concerns and questions about how to exactly go about starting things up and being organized. Not only is our business affairs handled seamlessly but our personal taxes as well. This experience was not at all the "nightmare" people speak of when tax season hits. Derby Accounting actually made this the very first tax season in 40 years that I would describe as "painless, stress-free and a huge relief". I never thought I would describe taxes with any of those words prior to having Derby Accounting handle both business and personal taxes. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment to anyone looking for peace of mind and a most pleasant experience especially when it comes to taxes! Thank you David for all that you have done for us and how seamless this has been. We couldn't be more pleased with our decision to hire your firm. Don & Patrice S. Clio, MI

Pretty good accountant with reasonable rates…read more While I don't particularly love the location- the office is in the funky Grand Mall in Grand Blanc- the important things here with an accountant are competency, trustworthiness and decent rates. I'm pleased (so far) with his services. He's done a good job on our taxes now for two years straight after I found him through a recommendation after I bailed on my longtime CPA in Flushing because they fouled up a tax return. Mr. Kubik managed to undo the damage done by my former CPA, and didn't charge me more for the snafu. While the cost of different tax returns will vary, our taxes cost about $150- not too bad.
