I have been a customer for past 4 years. I called today to see if my old nails can be removed. My sister had taken me to her salon for the old nails before my open heart surgery. Now a month later, the old nails need to be removed and majestic said I should go back to my sisters nail place. I just wanted them removed and my nails trimmed and basic nail polish . She hung up on me. I'm never going back and I'm telling all my friends that get pedicures there. She was so rude! read more

I was a walk in to this nail salon. I walked in at 627 for a pedicure, I saw on the sign they closed at 730. This service typically takes 40-60 minutes so I of course asked if they even wanted to take me. They of course took me. I got a pedicure that was done in 15 minutes. She put zero effort or energy into it. She cared very little. Will never be back. read more

I've only been to Majestic Nail Spa once, but it left a great impression. I've tried other places in KC which have been highly recommended, and been incredibly disappointed every time. I am very hard on my hands/nails (I work on the computer, typing basically all day & my hobbies are all very "manual"), so I have always had issues getting manicures that last-- most don't make it even to the 2 week mark. I rolled into Majestic on a "treat yourself" day where I decided that the cure for feeling down was to be pampered. I got one of the "deluxe" pedicures & an SNS manicure. The Pedicure was amazing-- the woman who did it was really nice-- bonus points because she respected that I am not super talkative-- and she did an amazing job massaging/cleaning my legs and feet. The SNS Manicure I got was equally wonderful-- the technician was very thorough, listened to my requests about shape & length perfectly, and I'm now going on week 6 of this manicure... which is absolutely UNHEARD of for me! I finally feel like I've found my Cinderella nail spa! I'll be making an appointment this weekend to get a manicure & hoping that I'll get another 6 weeks out of this one, too. read more

I had a pedicure appt as a new customer today, but was barely greeted or even taken to a chair so after 10 minutes waiting I left because I was being totally ignored. On another note, their polish selection was terrible - very limited and all looked old. When you shook it it sounded watered down. So disappointing because it's close to my home and they were friendly on the phone. read more

This is my favorite nail spa in KC. By far the best pedicure I ever had. This place is right next to Price Chopper, not fancy but it is very clean. The best part of Majestic is their superb customer service. All the workers are so friendly and are happy to talk to you. My pedicure took about an hour and the guy meticulously scrubbed, massaged, and clipped off all the dead skin (I know it's gross). $25 is a steal for the amount of work he puts in for the pedicure. I haven't tried the mani ($35 a mani and pedi) yet but I will definitely be back! Note: they appreciate cash tip which is totally understandable. read more

I really only come to this place when I don't have money to go to my usual place or I don't feel like doing my own acrylics. It's okay service, they don't really great you or say thank you, or usual "have a good day" you get everywhere else. A new set used to be $25 no matter the length, but now they charge you $5 more. I don't get why places charge for more length, you're just going to cut it off and throw it away anyway. The manicures aren't really the best. Color selection average, not the place to go if you like colorful nails. This is the place to go if you don't really care for being awkward the whole time and just need a quick nail fix. read more

The lady gave me a 15 minute pedicure. Did my color backwards then said , this look better! Told me not to pick up the polish, put it down, like I was a 5 year old. Never spoke any other time. The other girl was doing another customers feet and told the girl that came over to see her color, said sit down, I don't like people to watch me work! Soooo, I advise nobody use Majestic Nail and Spa by Hobby Lobby. I went for a mani/pedi with friends Tuesday. Lousy job. I had been going there for a year and a half so I had a gauge on what to expect... an average to above average pedi, depending on who you get. I have taken 5 different people with me and gave them a lot of business. This time i got the guy again. I once got a "ok"manicurebfrom him while he watched something on his phone. Ibdid not wantbhim but I also dudnt want to stick my friends with him. The guy barely even went through the motions and even skipped a couple important steps of the process. I was soooo disappointed at the time but because I was with two others and dinner afterwards was the plan I just decided I would refuse to use him ever again. When I finally got home later that night and could actually feel my feet with my hands I discovered he formed my callous to a sharp edge and left one toenail much longer than the others. W.t.h. i told my friends, who were with me and they rightly suggested i have them fix it. So I called them to fix it on my way home from work. I got there and the alpha female of the group looked at it and can see why I made a return trip. As she started the guy who gave the shoddy pedi comes over and starts creating a scene!!! He got within a few inches of my face and actually ACCUSED ME OF CUTTING THE CALLOUS THAT WAY after the pedi. DOUBLE W.T.H.!!!!!!!! Well, I didn't lose my temper and I also did not back down as he was literally in my face, the place was packed for the first time I have ever seen, and he was getting louder saying he didn't leave it that way. What??? I deadlocked his eyes stood my ground (afterall, I had done nothing wrong) and explained he did a lousy job, the ONLY reason I was there was because I wanted someone to fix the service I paid for and did not receive. (I was REALLY in disbelief this was even happening.) SO, with that weird accusation I must have just wanted what... to come back a second time for the FUN of it? I am amazed... and not in a good way. As if that weren't enough, not one person (or the alpha male/owner who was sitting there) told the little jerk to back off, apologized for the bad service, the verbal assault or could even look me in the eye. Here in Kansas City on business and needed to get my nails done. Reviews were good and this was near the office. I had a pedicure and gel manicure. The pedicure was very average, not a lot of detail work as stated in the other review. I was switched to one of the young men for my gel manicure. He watched a movie on his phone for part of the service but the end result was good. The massage with the manicure was good. Overall, the results I left with were satisfactory but not remarkable. The service was minimal. The price was the usual, not high or low. read more

The people here are great. They arent rude talking in another language behind your back the whole time. If they do, they usually tell you what they said. The are kind, friendly, and always willing to give in to any request you have. Also, they know all there regulars by name. Sitting in there is like sitting in cheers. They are very welcoming to newcomers as well. Prices are reasonable, pedicures are the best I have had in town (great calus removal without messing up your feet), and the shelac manicures are great! I just got engaged and everyone wants to see my ring, so of course I needed to get a manicure. I usually go to a salon in Midtown KC, but I was with my fiancee who lives north of Gladstone. My cuticles now look awful. She rushed through the manicure and I now have pieces of skin hanging off of them all over the place. One of them has a nick in it. I wish I could post a picture here to show how Ignoring the quality of work, they really weren't that friendly. Three people who came in after me and didn't have appointments were ushered in before me, I assume it is because they were having more costly services performed. It's okay though, because it gave me time to stare at the walls and contemplate just how long it had been since they had been cleaned. The woman who did my nails wasn't rude or disrespectful, but she was not exactly pleasant either. She seemed like she was in a very big hurry to get rid of me. I understand that a quick turnover means more clients come in, but this was beyond efficient, this was racing to get me out of the door. All over the walls there are requests for cash tips because it keeps paperwork costs down. I refuse to tip in cash as this is generally a way to avoid reporting income on a tax return. Any fees associated with processing a tip by credit card would be minimal and could be avoided/minimized by accepting debit cards (which if they were worried about costs they would already do). If the workers are treated as employees and receive W-2s (as they should be but probably aren't), the employer should already be reporting the amount of their tips on their Form W-2. As the employer should already be keeping track of daily tips for each employee, there would be minimal additional overhead costs associated with accepting tips by credit card. It is not acceptable to request cash tips only and this is a red flag when someone makes that request. I will not be returning. When I eventually move to the northland, I will drive all the way down to Midland for my mani/pedis. read more
