After seeing my review online, Mr Barber's social media manager reached out to me to talk about the case. She completely understood the communication problems I had been having with the previous attorney (Matt Herzog, who I still hold is absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful), and asked if I would speak to Mr. Barber himself, the founding partner of the firmer. I said I wanted nothing to do with Matt or his nasty assistant Michelle, and they made sure that that was the case. It was a different world from then on. Mr Barber brought us into the office for an in person meeting, something Matt had never bothered to do. He was very personable, he apologized profusely for the bad service we had received with Matt, and assured us that that was not the standard by which he intends to conduct his firm. He took time to listen to our concerns, to discuss settlement options, and never questioned the veracity of my claims (unlike Matt). He was an absolute and total professional. Kris Barber was a delight to work with. He sent us both emails updating on the progress throughout, we never had to chase him down to get any information on the case. He was respectful and inclusive- it was nice to be treat as an equal instead of talked down to. In the end, Mr Barber reduced his fees to give me an even larger settlement, as another apology for Matt's bad behavior. And the settlement ended up being almost exactly the same number Matt had thought ludicrous. The settlement was nearly double what I had been told was on the high end.
