We made the reservations on la fourchette, but when we got there, we were told by the really nice hostess that on la fourchette they don't specify if you are there for the bbq and cooked food or the hot pot. Apparently they seat all the hotpot eaters downstairs and it was completely full. Nevertheless, they made room for us after a bit of moving around and we happily sat down for some all-you-can-eat.
Their spicy chung-king soup base really hit the spot. Everything you dip into the pot came out delicious. They allow you to do three rounds of ordering (which is technically not all you can eat if you can past three rounds, but we stopped at round two), and their portion of the food is not very clear when you make the order. We kept asking for more beef to the point where they just gave us a large pot of raw, really fatty beef (assuming that's for customers who are eating too much) and my beau was more than satisfied.
I think the price is very reasonable - around 25 EUR for AYCE is the going price everywhere. In addition, their restaurant is clean, modern, and easily accessible within Paris. It's hard to ask for better. read more
