Photo of our toilet when we arrived. Literally pee in the crevices and hair left from the last guest.

This hotel was quite possibly the grossest hotel I've ever stayed at. We traveled here for a baseball tournament and after traveling 6 hours we just needed to sleep. As we walked into the room we noticed it was gross but we were exhausted as it was 10:30pm and we're ready for bed. When we woke up the next morning we realized how gross our room ACTUALLY WAS. Mold in the air vents, food on the walls, cob webs in the corners of the room, boogers on the walls, hair in the refrigerator and bugs in the bed. I spoke with the hotel manager and he said that we could cancel our remaining stay but would have to check out of our room by the check out time of noon because it would need to be cleaned for the next online guest. I COMICALLY LAUGHED as that was the issue from the get go. This hotel room hadn't been cleaned in YEARS!! When I mentioned that there was a bug in our bed (I was fluffing out our sheets) the hotel manager literally asked me what type of bug? Bed bugs?? Listen guy, I don't freaking know the "type" of bug it was, it was a BUG IN MY BED! I would seriously consider a different hotel over this one.

I had to finally call and the lady appeared. I was quickly checked in which I did appreciate. Not with the same attention I have been in the past but checked in nonetheless. I checked in on the mobile app requesting a late check out of 4pm. I should have realized someone wouldn't go to bat to help but realized my request didn't go through until the morning. I asked as soon as I went down an was told there was nothing she could do since it was too late. I don't doubt she couldn't do anything as she wasn't empowered to do it. Said someone from "sales" would be in and they could help. When I returned, it was the same woman and had to ask if she was able to get someone to help and she said she could do anything. Before that I had asked her to try for a late checkout at 1 which she said was likely the most she could do. That was granted and as disappointed in the failure of the app I was happy to have that since I had no place to go for a few hours. Unfortunately, I don't believe she tried to go above and beyond that. Prior to that, I had come down the evening before to wait for Uber Eats to no one behind the desk again. When she did come out, I asked for a a bag for the ice machine since we don't have a bucket. Was told I'd get a bucket she assured was clean. She came back and offered bowls. Bowls that you'd use for soup or ice cream. Because they don't have any ice buckets. Who is taking their ice buckets? Back to the morning of requesting a late check out, there was no one behind the counter again. Had to wait and the same person from the night before finally showed up. Understaffed? Not empowered? Doesn't care? Idk... disappointed in this stay and see lots of room for improvement.

We normally keep our room at around 68°F, but the thermostat in our suite was locked and could not be adjusted. The room was approximately 73°F and very humid, making it difficult for my wife to sleep. When I spoke with the front desk the next morning, I was told that the temperature was controlled by the hotel through a computer. Had we been informed of this at check-in, or had there been a notice in the room, we would have contacted the front desk immediately. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the issues. We purchased a robe to take home, but when we opened the package at home, we discovered that the robe was used and dirty. I contacted the hotel and eventually spoke with Allison Rosch, the Front Office Manager. It took several phone calls and emails to get any resolution. After repeatedly asking, I was offered $80 off the room. I was also told that the hotel would consider refunding the robe after receiving it back. I had to ship the robe back at my own expense--approximately $40. What was most disappointing throughout this entire experience was the lack of an apology or genuine concern for what happened. For the price we paid, the experience was simply not acceptable. Marriott Towne Suites would be a far better choice.

I checked in on December 23, 2025, for a two-night stay while visiting Dubuque for the holidays. At check-in, I advised the front desk that I am a Hilton Gold member and asked about the availability of a room upgrade and the $15 per guest breakfast credit. I was informed that neither was available, which I accepted without issue. The following morning, we chose to purchase the full breakfast to support the hotel. Unfortunately, the buffet food appeared to have been sitting out for an extended period and was both unappealing and inedible, despite our arriving at approximately 8:00 a.m. We ultimately chose not to eat and returned to our room, though we still left a generous tip for our server. As part of my Gold status benefits, I received a text message requesting feedback on my stay. I responded honestly, noting my disappointment regarding the lack of an upgrade and having paid $35 for a breakfast I could not eat. I rated my experience a 3. Shortly thereafter, I received a voicemail from the general manager asking that I call him. During the call, his demeanor was confrontational, aggressive, and unprofessional. Rather than addressing my concerns about the stay, he focused almost exclusively on my rating and repeatedly demanded personal information about a family member who had enrolled me in Hilton's Friends and Family program. His tone was accusatory, and he spoke over me while insisting that I "should know how the program works," The conversation included what I perceived as intimidation and implied threats related to my status and future stays, leaving me feeling pressured and uncomfortable. After subsequently speaking with Hilton Corporate, I was informed that my Gold status benefits should have been honored regardless of the Friends and Family program. Based on the general manager's conduct during the call, I no longer felt safe or welcome at the property. As a result, I immediately checked out of the hotel, forfeiting my second night despite still being charged for the full reservation. I later learned that the general manager had contacted the Hilton Friends and Family program and had my benefits revoked. When I contacted Hilton to inquire why future reservations had been canceled, I was told that I had been labeled "rude and disruptive." This characterization is inaccurate and unjustified. I spent less than 18 hours at the hotel, used digital check-in and a mobile key, and had no confrontational interactions with staff beyond routine, respectful inquiries about my benefits.

Walked into the old fashioned lobby and checked right in without any hassle. Besides the front desk is a small market of choices for snacks incase you forgot something. The woman was friendly again and told us all that we needed to know. She told us about the adjoining bar that opened later that night. The two creepy life sized Native Indian dolls weren't much for conversation. Got in the rather old elevator....It made lots of noises as we ascended to our floor. Using an actual key we went into the room. The rooms decor was like stepping into my grandma house. It actually had a grandparent smell. We cracked up at the size of the "queen" bed. That is not a queen. It was clean though. Minus a couple little things the bed was clean and that's important. There was a mini fridge, a couch, a microwave and about 6 different lamps in our one room. What made me laugh the hardest was the instant coffee maker..The antique. Even had the plastic mini cups holders. Oh I was afraid of setting something on fire. You're adventurous right? Tired of the same old hotels, yea try this one for a whole new experience. Also the bar attached to the hotel has karaoke every night and the staff is very welcoming. Within walking distance of many places to eat.
