The help at this Hampton Inn need to do a better job cleaning rooms. We waited more than hour past check in to get our room because they were running behind. Unfortunately our room wasn't very clean. The floor hadn't been vacuumed, and it needed to be! In addition to pieces of "stuff" on the carpet, there was even a French fry in plain sight. We wiped down all of the furniture and bathroom surfaces with anti-bac wipes because they were not clean. Surfaces were very dusty in some areas; they hadn't been taken care of in quite some time. The bathroom floor was dirty, the wipes in the picture show the filth. The shower door track and drain were gross. The vents on the a/c unit were the dirtiest we've ever seen. To top it off, the bedding was so wrinkly, we were not sure if it was clean; obviously they don't bother to fold the sheets after laundering. If all of the rooms are like the one we got, they all need a good deep clean. We left our room much cleaner than when we checked in, the next guests will be fortunate to get the room! Came with my 2 girls for a weekend trip. We loved our room, and breakfast smelled great! I however got other things to eat. Love the hotel is right by Target parking lot and Chick-fil-A! We could have even walked to Crumbl too! There was a super nice lady trying really hard to keep up with breakfast the one morning {there was a huge tournament and families this weekend}, she did awesome..I'd like to apologize to her for the rude lady who snapped at her because food was gone for 5 minutes ... people obviously were eating faster than food could COOK! Everything was pleasant including the room and the stay. Till we woke up to go down stairs for breakfast. The waffle batter had run out and since there were only 30 minutes more of breakfast the person running the breakfast refused to make more waffle batter when asked (it was pretty popular and at one point had a line of five or six till she refused). Overall, it was fine that she refused but the way she did made me and my whole family uncomfortable. She just shouted at us that she would not be making anymore batter instead of telling us calmly or that it was against their policy. For making my family uncomfortable and for the worker being rude, I am taking off a star. I will be staying here again but if I go to breakfast I will definitely not be asking for anymore waffle batter. read more

This particular Hampton hasn't been remodeled yet. But is still very clean and well managed. We stayed here with kids in a big group for a hockey tournament and it was perfect. The location is convenient, just a few miles from downtown and even closer to major highways. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was really good. This particular location was cleaner than most and had ample parking. The only drawback here may be that it's super busy near the mall and HyVee and Target. Be careful driving in traffic nearby. This Hampton Inn shares the same qualities as others so I won't go into too much detail. Suffice it to say that it was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. What I liked most about this particular hotel was its location, as it's in the same parking lot as several fast food restaurants, a grocery store, a Starbucks, and a Target. We came here during a holiday weekend and made sure to book early to get a great rate while rooms were still available. Checking in was super easy and the manager was friendly. The location of this hotel is great. Its close to restaurants (like Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A), and grocery stores (Hyvee) and shopping (Walmart and Target). We were given options to stay on the 1st floor or the 3rd floor. We opted for the third floor and it was a nice, clean and quiet room. The main purpose of booking this hotel was because of the microwave and refrigerator in the rooms. We used them almost every day. Unfortunately the refrigerator wasn't cold enough for us (even when we put it to the max) so we had to fill cups with ice to cool the temperature down. Thankfully they had an ice machine on our floor. Another perk to this hotel was the complimentary coffee/tea/cookies/hot breakfast. We appreciated that. The complimentary wifi in the room also worked well. Although our room was clean, some of the main areas like the stairways were a little dirty. I saw the same pieces of debris on the stairs during our 3 night stay here which was an indication housekeeping didn't clean these areas daily. This wouldn't deter us from returning though. Been a loyal Hilton Honors member for years and hands down was disappointed with this hotel and their handling of issues. I booked 2 rooms in my name and my brother book a single room is his name. I checked in via the app like I always do and picked my rooms, my brother went to the hotel and checked in. He provided his name and they said my first name and he said no I have a reservation under my own name. They ended up checking him in under my reservation and gave up the room I selected to someone else. He gave me a heads up that something didn't see right so I called and sure enough I was going to be short a room despite already checking in via the app. I showed up after my event in town and they refused to discount my room or acknowledge they even did anything wrong and simply blamed the system. To make it worse they charged me more for a room then the rate I booked it for. I would not recommend staying here and am extremely disappointed. I will not be staying here ever again and I'm in Dubuque very frequently. read more

I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife a number of weeks ago. We stayed at this Hampton Inn for a Friday - Sunday visit. Since I am a Hilton Member I checked into the hotel and picked my room in advance of actually arriving to the hotel. That means that the check in process at the hotel was quick and rather painless. Our room here was a king and looked exactly like most Hampton Inn's do. There was the bed and a dresser as well as a desk and a refrigerator and microwave. The bed was comfortable and both my wife and I slept well each of the nights. As with all Hampton Inns, this one included a breakfast with your stay. It was the same standard fare that you get at every Hampton Inn which is some type of eggs, breakfast protein, yogurt, waffles, coffee and fruit juices. Other than the breakfast we didn't use any other amenities and honestly we weren't even in our room very much here. The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future. While this hotel didn't blow me away it was exactly what you expect from a Hampton Inn and that is good enough for me. read more

We have stayed here frequently over the past several years and have seen many changes to the property and staff during that time. This is the first time I am writing a review on it though. Staff: the staff has always been polite and helpful and continues to be. We rarely have problems or issues, but when we do, they are very quick to resolve them. We are always greeted upon arrival and many of them engage us in small talk, which makes us feel welcome and valued. Rooms: The rooms have always been clean and they have continued to upgrade them with newer TVs and in some cases furniture. I absolutely love the fact that this Hampton has a charging station in my room with multiple plugs and USB ports for my electronics!!! This is a great idea every hotel needs to adopt! So far every bathroom has been nice sized and not cramped in the least. Every room has been spacious and comfortable. The curtains are nice and heavy and keep the light out wonderfully for a good sleep. The climate controls are easy to use and you can usually get the room to the right temp each time. Amenities: I don't take advantage of the pool or hot tub or many of the other facilities in the hotel, but my girlfriend does and she is happy to be able to soak in the pool, relax in the hot tub, use the business center, wash our laundry, or relax in the lounge. Oh, there is a huge touchscreen device in the lobby area that provides loads of information, from flights to activities. It's fun and beneficial to use. Breakfast: this is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. A while back ago, Hamptons moved away from their prior scrambled eggs to a different kind that taste horrible (and have a horrible texture). Whenever I see them, I immediately search for alternatives. However, everything else for breakfast is good...especially the omelets and bacon....just wish bacon showed up more frequently! Wi-Fi: it is free in this hotel and pretty darn reliable. Peak hours cause a few issues with connectivity, but it is far better than many other hotels. The biggest complaint I have for any Hampton is the constant signing in for my devices due to short allowance for using it. Once you sign in, it's supposed to be 24 hours, but I have had to sign in as early as 4 hours after the initial sign in. This is an "upgrade" I dislike tremendously. read more

Overall a good stay. Very clean room, nice new flatscreen TV. Decent size pool, small hottub but okay. Small fitness center, no room to stretch or work off of the machines (1 bike, 1 elliptical, 2 treadmills). We encountered friendly service all around. My only complaint was the breakfast, and the fact that the milk thermometer read "danger zone" and when we alerted an employee he said that the thermometer has been "acting up". I doubt the health department would take the same view. The variety did not impress me. I read several reviews that said they were impressed with the healthy options. I really worry about the health of those reviewers if they think healthy options were available. Five varieties of box cereal, all low fiber low protein kinds like Total (which is not healthy if you actually read the box). There were hot items every morning but these also were not healthy choices, powdered eggs, deep fried potatoes, and omelets with unmelted Velveeta cheese. Milk in the danger zone. The waffle iron came with "oil free" unsticking spray. I have no doubt whatsoever that spray will someday be the focus of a cancer class action suit. The batter for the waffles was whatever the lower-quality version of bisquick is. The mixed fruit (pineapple, melon, grapes, oranges) tasted funky. Not a good taste for fruit. Old socks. Heavy syrup. Finally, the yogurt offered. The second ingredient was corn syrup, after milk. YUCK. The only healthy choice offered is oatmeal. It is pretty gooey but seemed like it was not instant (just sitting too long). read more

My husband and I, along with some friends, stayed here recently when we came to Dubuque for a weekend trip. The hotel is very nice and well kept. Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We booked our reservation under the Diamond Jo casino package. With this package, we received two free drinks and a bonus offer of $20 to play in the casino. The one thing that I wish would have been better was the breakfast. I stayed here for two nights for work and had a great stay. The room was laid out in a way to work easy and stay relaxed. The stand up shower was awesome, didn't feel like I was going to slip and fall at all, no built up residue to make it slippery (you'd be amazed at how often it feels like that at other places) and the over all feel of the room made it easy to work in. This is a great hotel for the price. It's very clean and the beds are super comfy. I had to stop myself from stealing a pillow (hotel pillows are the best, they should definitely give you an option to buy them) and slept well each night I was there. I couldn't hear any noise from any adjacent rooms which is a big plus. The staff even lent me a deck of cards so my cousin and I could play card games with our great grandmother. They were very accommodating in proving a cot in her room so my cousin could stay with her. There is no ATM in the hotel so plan accordingly. Also, skip the eggs at the continental breakfast, they were awful. But they have yogurt and fruit and plenty of other options. Overall I'd definitely recommend staying here! read more

We stayed here on our recent trip to Dubuque. We were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable front desk worker. He was able to give us some ideas of attractions to check out while in town. The hotel was very clean. The room was equally clean with a hint of bleach in the air. We booked with the Diamond Jo Casino package which included two free drinks and a $20 bonus offer. This is a nice hotel in a great location. Target and Chick-Fil-A are across the street, Olive Garden is also very close. The bathroom in our room was very clean. The coffee pot was dusty but I never drink the room coffee - only the lobby coffee. The bed was very comfortable with a lot of pillows. I wish there were more places to sit other than just the desk chair. Not convenient when there is more than one person in the room. We were able to get into our room early which was a plus. The front desk manager was very accommodating. The refrigerator and microwave in the room were convenient. I agree with the comments that the multi-charging station on the desk is awesome. I also agree that the carpets in the hallways and the elevator need some extra attention. The breakfast was decent. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Check in was slow and the desk worker was unique. Biggest drawback was the presence of random dark hairs UNDER the covers of one of the beds. Probably (hopefully?) from the cleaning staff, but still, hairs in a "clean" bed. This hotel was nice and clean. Overall good stay. We were in town for a wedding and the hotel was able to accommodate all of the families traveling in. The staff at the front desk was not very helpful but it didn't effect the stay. I did not visit the pool or workout facility so I cannot speak to that. My husband and I travel frequently for business and I was blown away by how friendly and helpful their staff is and by the overall quality of this hotel! The desk manager who made the reservations over the phone found me a better discount then my AAA that I wouldn't have even known about and during our stay he was incredibly friendly and helpful and even lent me an umbrella when it was raining outside. The morning breakfast is much better then the standard sub-par breakfasts many hotel chains offer. The kitchen staff would chat with us, ask us about our 1 year old daughter who was traveling with us and went out of their way to be welcoming. It is a rarity to find this kind of exceptional customer service anymore and to have rooms that are so clean! We both highly recommend this hotel! read more

The hotel manager, Jeff Cue, is the rudest and most self-interested hotel employee that I've ever encountered. I wanted to stay at this hotel for a weekend and called to review their service animal policy. When talking to Mr. Cue, he stated that no animals were allowed, period, contrary to the website's declarations. When I asked about service animals he got angry and stated "My hotel, my rules," and then hung up on me. Because of him, I will never stay at a Hampton Inn ever again. read more
