The pain came and left so I didn't bother treating it. Then I noticed months after I felt foggy, off balanced, anxious. I put it off as just a funk I was going through. I've had constant TMD and a migraine (first time in my life) for over a month and have tried my doctor, ENR, acupuncture, acupressure, amino therapy patches, medicine, message therapy, TMJ exercises only to have fleeting relief! The pain and despair has been debilitating and embarrassing. My dentist was fitting me for a Night Guard to help with my clenching and grinding when he had recommended Dr. Thomas. I decided I'd give it a shot because I would do anything to feel normal again. I'm so happy I did. Not only is Dr. Thomas truly passionate for what he does but he is extremely empathetic to his patients, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable about his work. My consultation shed a lot of light on how treatments work and how the atlas, body, and mind work in harmony. As I continue to do my own research I find so many eureka moments where unexplained symptoms would go untreatable by doctors that were in fact a direct symptom of my atlas. I have to totally differently look on how modern medicine approaches ailments. The onslaught of symptoms that occur when your body is out of line is unreal. It's easy to isolate a problem and try to remedy with medication but that is merely a mask and until you dig to the root the pain will always be lurking. Anyways! I had my first treatment yesterday and although I am still in pain I went from a 9 to a 4! I had a "impressive" misalignment and can already feel my entire body, literally top of head to toe, readjusting. I can not begin to describe how excited I am for my second, third, and so on. I am beyond grateful to Dr. Thomas for his precision, artistry, and knowledge of the body and his craft. I don't think I could ever recommend somebody more.

Since then, I had been in and out of doctors' offices dealing with significant pain, multiple MRIs, and a frustrating recovery process. Unfortunately, some of the imaging wasn't even performed in the correct areas, and while everyone focused on my rib injuries, the cause of my severe lower back pain was never fully investigated. After my most recent MRI, physical therapy was recommended as an important part of my recovery. Joint & Spine Rehabilitation was one of the providers in my insurance network, and after calling several facilities with little response, I contacted Joint & Spine Rehabilitation. From the moment the front desk answered the phone, I was treated with kindness, compassion, and genuine concern. They asked thoughtful questions, listened to my situation, and scheduled me for an appointment the very next day. When I arrived, I was nervous because of the amount of pain I was experiencing. Dr. Gigante took the time to thoroughly review my rib imaging and asked whether I had ever received a lower lumbar MRI. I had not. He explained that while my ribs had sustained significant trauma, my lower spine may have also been affected by the fall. He ordered the MRI, and I received insurance approval within a week. During that first visit, Dr. Gigante also took X-rays of my pelvis and discovered that it was misaligned and that I had injured my SI joint--something that could explain the persistent lower back pain I had been struggling with for so long. Starting physical therapy was intimidating. When you've been in pain for an extended period, fear of making it worse can be overwhelming. My physical therapist, Chetali, has been absolutely amazing. She has helped me work through that fear, listens carefully to how I'm feeling, adjusts treatment accordingly, and continues to encourage me every step of the way. Dr. Reilly has also been fantastic. His adjustments have been incredibly helpful, and whenever I mention a concern or a new symptom, the entire team takes the time to listen and find ways to help. What stands out most about Joint & Spine Rehabilitation is how much they genuinely care about their patients. After just five weeks of treatment, the staff feels like family. They are professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and easy to talk to. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I have a team that is truly invested in my recovery.
