My partner and I rented a home in Venice, Fl. for the months of February and March, 2025…read more Unfortunately our experience was less than we expected as the home was not ready for occupancy when we arrived on Saturday, February 1st. Because it was a Saturday the office was closed and we had to obtain our entry packet through a lock box. Our first problem was trying to enter the front door with the code we were given. The code was incorrect and we spent quite awhile trying to make it work. A phone call to Horse & Chaise was answered by a recording. We went around to the side and were finally able the get in using the keys. but to our dismay the paving bricks all along the side of the house were loose. An orange construction cone was on top. The pavers along the pool underneath the cage were also loose. This was a problem as our 4 and 2 year old granddaughters were coming on the 3rd. We finally got ahold of someone at Horse & Chaise on Monday but although Brian came and took pictures, it was over a week until the pavers were repaired and as we feared our granddaughters tripped and fell. It was several days until the code was changed so we could access the home through the front door. There was a CharBroil gas grill out by the pool under the cage. It did not appear it had been used in some time. It was rusty and the warmest it got was 250 degrees. We used it once after scrubbing it with a brillo pad but our food had chunks of rust and metal on it. We went to Ace Hardware and bought a small grill. Also evident was the cockroach infestation. We killed several. Finally, the bench alongside the bistro table in the Florida room was missing a support rail and was wobbly. We approached Horse & Chaise regarding some compensation for our less than satisfactory experience. We were rebuffed. Think twice about renting through Horse & Chaise.

Stephanie always gets back to me right away to help with rental prospectuses which help buyers decide whether or not the property is a good investment for them. I greatly value her input and experience. Having run a rental company myself for 13 years I appreciate all of their hard work!

My wife and I have rented a condo at 427 Cerromar Lane, Unit 455, located in Venice, Florida for…read morethe month of January and we have never had a worse experience! The Plantation development is pitch black at night. Once we finally found the unit, we assumed the lockbox would be on the unit door handle-it was not. After several phone calls and being told it might be on the rail nearby, we learned it was all the way down on the first floor on the outside of a storage unit. Huh?! Next communication (from God knows who, as an individual is almost NEVER identified) was in all shouty capital letters, orders and warnings about us not missing trash day. Day two began with the television in the living room going out. It took almost two weeks to get a replacement and the new television is significantly smaller. We scheduled some vacation days around the arrival and setup of the replacement TV! In terms of cleanliness, reality is FAR BELOW EXPECTATIONS. One of our 3 television remotes that we are stuck with, if you'll pardon the pun, has something sticky all over it. The carpet is dirty and sticky, with stains in the living room and bedrooms. The carpets needed to be vacuumed, kitchen floor is dirty and has sticky spots. Thick dust on every furniture surface and it is coming out of the air vents! Getting help with any of this is like contacting a 1-800 number. We are dealing with VRBO, Gulf Coast Vacation Rentals, Gulf Coast Property Management, and the Farmington Vistas Condominium Association. We are constantly transferred to different divisions/organizations, all of whom appear to no decision making ability, and there is tons of wait time for responses (despite having paid $713.50 in service fees for 'immediate' support). I feel like I have taken up a part time job to contact all these people and sort through these messes. On January 11th, Gulf Coast Property management offered $25 off per day to remedy the situation but never followed up. In short, RUN!

We are currently renting a property at 444 Cerramor Road Unit 298…read more Upon entering the unit: -Cobwebs/bugs around the front door. -No water for 4 hours and after many frustrating phone calls, a neighbor came to help -Lanai chairs were covered in mold. -Vent in main room was filled with dust. -Dining room chair was broken and deemed unusable. -Carpet and barstools had many stains. -Baseboards were very dirty. -Beach chairs in the laundry area were very rusty. -Pile of towels were also found in laundry area Extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit. Admittedly, we did not continue to contact Gulf Coast after the lengthy non-response to the water issue. We cleaned what we needed to to make the condo habitable for the month. We're not sure if Gulf Coast has their own cleaning crew but needless to say it was disappointing.
