Beware of Real Estate agent Kathleen (Kathy) Louise Betancourt License # SL3178623 who is employed…read moreby Re-Max Anchor Realty located at 8379 Gasparilla Rd, Port Charlotte, Florida. As a licensed Ca. agent I provided Kathy Betancourt with two properties to list for sale. Our written agreement provided a 25% agent referral fee to me. Kathy failed to disclose she had a financial interest in the title co. that handled the escrows. I only learned of this after there were multiple problems with the escrow co. giving me inaccurate information along with repeated delays with both escrows, resulting in the buyer of one property cancelling escrow. Despite the fact I found another buyer for that 2nd property, Kathy was still paid her listing agent fee on it. KATHY BETANCOURT NEVER PAID ME MY 25% REFERRING AGENT FEE. She ignored my emails and phone calls. I contacted her real estate office and broker/owner Philip Farhat, and got nothing but the runaround and no calls back. If this agent and her office would cheat me out of a minimal agent referral fee, I shutter to think how they would treat sellers or buyers on larger scale transactions, especially ones from out of town, such as myself! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO KATHY BETANCOURT OR RE-MAX ANCHOR REALTY. THEY ARE UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISHONEST.

This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a rental property. When we moved…read morein, our home was not move-in ready. The house was filthy, and many things were broken. The backyard was full of needles, making it unsafe and unusable for our small children. They are also not honoring the special deal they promoted of half off the second month's rent. Instead, we are being told we will be charged a late fee if we do not pay the full amount. To make matters worse, our AC has been out since Labor Day night, and there has been no urgency in getting it repaired. We were told someone would come look at it on Friday, but that does not guarantee it will be fixed that day. Based on their track record, we are assuming we will be without AC through the weekend. We live in Florida, where the weather is hot and humid. It is so hot in the house that it is actually cooler outside. I have emailed, called, and texted multiple managers, area managers, and leasing agents, yet I have not received any responses to my concerns. I would not recommend anyone rent from this company. No matter how good their deals sound, it is not worth the hassle. I am just over a month into my lease, and I am already exhausted from all the stress this property has caused me and my family.

1-Star Review - Extremely Unprofessional & Unsafe Living Conditions…read more I have been renting from Main Street Renewal and my experience has been a nightmare. For over 4 months, I have been dealing with an ongoing mold infestation and serious repair issues that have still not been resolved. The company has shown zero urgency, zero communication, and zero accountability. They send random contractors to my home with no notice, sometimes not even knowing what work needs to be done. Several have left the job unfinished, including leaving open walls that expose the attic, causing my A/C to escape and my utility bills to rise. Some work orders were marked "completed" even though nothing was actually finished. Main Street Renewal refuses to offer any rent concessions, relocation, or even a basic timeline for repairs, even while I am living in a hazardous environment. The property has had active leaks, and instead of sending an emergency plumber, I was literally told to shut the water off to the entire house to "prevent damage" -- as if living without running water is acceptable. Every time I ask for answers, I'm told someone will "reach out," and then the communication stops. 4 months later, the mold is still here, the work is still incomplete, and I'm still paying full rent for an unsafe home. Renters: avoid Main Street Renewal at all costs. They are quick to take your money, but when it comes to basic habitability, they disappear. I have never dealt with a company that shows so little concern for tenant safety, legal responsibilities, or even basic human decency.
