The nicest owner and staff in any record store east of The Mississippi River by far ! Stop in anytime !

I live 90 mins away, but I have always gone to MSJ when in the Stroudsburg area visiting relatives. I started going in the 90s when the store was in a slightly different location on Main Street. It's a great store, with a very nice longtime owner, a helpful and friendly staff, and it has a relaxed atmosphere. MSJ is in a good neighborhood for lunch. They avoid all the mistakes that many other record stores make. I am speaking, of course of snotty, snobby, easily triggered owners/salespeople, or racks of lps too jammed or unpriced "bring to the counter for price"albums, etc. The records here are priced clearly and fairly, in my opinion*. *If you haven't shopped for records in recent years.. the demand for records has gone up drastically in recent years, and prices have gone up accordingly everywhere. You will not find 2008 (or 1974) prices on records in 2025. Especially on original pressings of the big classic rock albums by the top bands still played on the radio. I feel these guys are pretty fair, especially if you compare shopping at a store vs. shopping online, where you have to pay extra for shipping and really have nothing more than a vague hope that the LP will arrive in the stated condition. That aside. and back to the review... The more expensive items have sealed flaps, but you can open and inspect the vinyl at the counter. Less expensive records can be inspected at the rack if you do so carefully (i.e., not accidentally flinging the record across the store or getting yer greasy fingerprints 'em). Note: Record swapping will get you banned, you delinquents ;) - so don't be that person. Also, drinks are a no-no for understandable reasons. MSJ has tons of great vinyl in vg'+ or better condish. Rock is broken down alphabetically in various sections by price: $10 and up, $5, etc. There are boxes underneath these lp racks, but they request you get an employees help to access them. I never have time to crate dig, but I aspire to one day. I pick up a lot of records each visit, with very few exceptions (over 30 yrs) the albums and cds I've purchased have always been in VG+ or better, clean, etc. I have often traded in albums for store credit, and they are reasonable if you bring in decent records in nice condition that are not super common. I can't speak to how well they cover other genres since I mostly concentrate on rock - but there's a good amount of other stuff to peruse. If you go, I hope you find that gem you are looking for! read more

We have been coming to Main Street Jukebox for years, but today we came for the first time on Record Store Day. The selection was as promised as advertised on their social media pages and everything went smoothly! We got exactly what we came for and the staff was kind and helpful despite the large line and crowd that awaited their opening today. We were in and out fairly quickly but everyone was lovely! read more

Covid-19 review: staff is very friendly and helpful, wears masks. My friend was looking for records from a specific artist and one of the store staff was very friendly in helping to search around the store. I saw hand sanitizer on the counter but not directly accessible to customers, though I think with the nature of the products, it's probably better to not get it on these type of vintage items. The store itself is a large rectangle that has very high ceilings (like 2 stories high), and products are well organized by product type, genre and the alphabetically. They have a expansive selection of different types of vintage music albums and singles--records, LP's, cassette tapes, CDs--as well as some music books , VHS tapes, collectible figurines, and music players. When we went to the counter to make our purchase, the owner mentioned he had opened this store 26 years ago, which is admirable since this is more of a niche interest. If we are in town again we will be back! read more

Amazing shop! They've been around forever, and have always been awesome. The employees are the best, they can direct you to what your looking for OR recommend something. Over the years, they've recommended some great bands to me, and are always willing to chat about music. Highly recommend this place. read more

Really well organized records, very helpful staff, definitely a good feel. Mix of affordable secondhand and brand new/collectibles.

A great music store in the heart of Main street. They have a great selection of used music, especially used vinyl. Their selection of newer vinyl is relatively limited, but they always have the latest releases. Found a rare live recording of The Smiths that is a German import here...You can find a lot of great records if you dig. They also have movies (even on VHS for some reason...?), CD's, etc. They even have shirts, local artwork, and some toys and stuff. Lots of good browsing, but I'm only interested in the records. The people working here were exceptionally nice and very knowledgeable. A great stop for any music lover in the area. read more

Love this place!! I just drew a sixth star on my phone w crayon because five just doesn't do it justice. I'm obviously joking but this really is my favorite place in stroudsburg to hang out and browse! They have an awesome selection of vinyl and CDs as well as an ever changing array of toys and collectibles. They have live bands and local art, but best of all they have an amazing crew! They are helpful, courteous and I've never had a bad experience there. It's progressive yet nostalgic feel make it the epitome of the stroudsburg soul and lifestyle. Go there ... Now! Or whenever you get a chance:) -local guy -Andrew read more

Sick place The owners knows his stuff and chill. I was visiting and he treated me no different from the locals. Huge place with huge selections. Maybe an online catalog is worth considering. Great downtown area to walk, shop, and eat. read more

I come in here often enough, but I never walk out with a lot because the prices are too high for a decent record, and I know I can get them cheaper somewhere else. There are plenty of low-priced records along the wall, but ugh I didn't come in for a copy of Billy Joel's Glass Houses. You want something decent, you'll have to pay. I'm giving it 4 stars because the last thing we need is for another used record store to close, but I can't rave about it. read more

Not only is this place nostalgic for me but the owner is great! My record collection started years before I even purchased a record player due to the crazy amount of fun and awesome finds Tom provides for his customers. Whenever I am home I always make a point to pop in and say hi and spend my money in a local place that so many people enjoy AT a place where the owners love what they do. This place helped create a music lover in me at a young age and I'll choose this place over any other record store any time. read more

Check this spot out if you're a true vinyl head and you'll never be disappointed. The spot is chock full of rare records that even long time music aficionados might have missed. Plus it's owned and operated by a highly knowledgeable lad named Tom. Side bonus: if your favourite musician is on tour nearby, there's a good chance you'll see them stopping off here and copping some goods. read more

What a great store.A knowledgeable cool staff with great selections and prices. These guys and gals know music. The even host a weekly podcast turning people on to different music. They also have live bands from time to time. If one of your favorite bands is playing at the near by Sherman Theater chances are the will be stopping in at the Main Street Jukebox. read more

Man, I remember when the Jukebox first opened, Tom, my roommate and I would hang out (at Jukebox #1, across the street from the current one) on the grungy couches playing some weird golf game on.. Nintendo? Tommy took me to get my first lip piercing (circa..'92?) and introduced Stroudsburg to it's first kick-ass music store. Best part? Sitll there, almost 10 years later. read more

I come here every time I'm in town. Extremely friendly staff and a great selection of new/used records, cd's, movies, and toys.

I've been to a lot of record stores from small towns to NYC, and this is as good as it gets. Huge selection, great staff, lots of hard to find vinyl even. Definitely visit Main St Jukebox if you're in town! read more

I have been to so many record stores across the state and this one is my favorite. No matter what you are looking for, there's a good chance that the Main Street Jukebox has it. They even have a dollar section for those looking to collect vinyl on a budget. read more

Awesome place Loved this place during college. I would go here before jazz band concerts at ESU or just in my spare time during great events like Record Store Day. They usually have local bands playing during those events too. Vinyl selection is pretty good too if you're into digging, plus the mid range stuff is great too. The brand new records are priced just a little bit above what I'd expect online, but I always bought used though, so please check this out. Plus, most of the other new stuff was priced decently too. I'm just into the rare ones sometimes. The guy with the huge beard is super nice and awesome too. Love the atmosphere and the people who work there are cool too. read more

I made a mistake giving this place my business. I purchased 2 vinyls (overpriced) and a double cd called the Lowdown- Jack White (don't buy this). When I opened the cd pkg and realized that 1. It's not what's advertised on the packaging and 2. I already had one of the CDs, I took it back to Main Street Jukebox NOT to get a refund, but to simply exchange it for another item. I was told I could pick out a $7 item, but I paid $15.99...? They explained that this was their policy for "used" items. Used???!!!! I merely opened the package...all they had to do was shrink wrap it again. The 2 vinyls I purchased were unopened, and I was so turned off by their attitude, I asked to return these UNOPENED items. They told me they don't do cash refunds...period...even for unopened items with the accompanying receipt purchased just a day or two prior. I will never make another purchase from Main Street Jukebox. read more

I love music. Why else would anyone go into the main street jukebox but because you want music and movies and memorabilia, right? That's not the only reason why I go there. I love getting my favorites on vinyl, I love discovering new music, I love that the people that work there no music and can recommend something that they know that I'll dig based on my previous purchasing history. I love that I can always count on the jukebox to find that one record that I need for my collection and I know that if I'm having a bad day going there just to look over the records and listen to music, eavesdrop on conversations about music and just be around music, I know my spirits will be lifted. It's such a great shop, a great vibe and the biggest asset that we have in downtown Stroudsburg. read more

Main Street Jukebox is a gem. Feel really lucky to have an independent music store in town. You can find some unusual stuff that you sure wouldn't find in most chains. The people are cool and helpful and very knowledgeable. read more

Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Found a nice selection of children's records for our toddler and ended up buying the vinyl of the artist that was being played over the store's speakers. read more

What a joke! Brought in a large box of Rare and collectible lps. Some collored vinyl, some picture discs, some rare recordings, some one of a kind. AND some the owner didnt even know what they were!!!!!! I have been in the music business all my life. For a business to ACT as if they know what they are doing re: knowledge of music and vinyl, they fall very short. As far as I am concerned, and people in the music business I know, say this is a rip off. Owner acts like he's a " know it all" and was very condesending towards me. A previous review stated that the former owner was much more knowledgable and friendly. I would have liked to have met THAT OWNER. First time there, and last time. read more

Best place to get your music, videos, and collectibles. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. I dont shop anywhere but here!

What a great store. Such a huge selection of new and used Cd's and collectables. The staff are not only friendly but fans of music as well. I have grown my music collection and taste so much thanks to M. S. Jukebox. The feeling you get when you hear your favorite song or band, That's the feeling you get when you walk in to This store. I love that Tom is such a Huge supporter of Local Artists and Business's They also have the best Record Store Day every year. It feels as though The Whole Town celebrates it. Michael H is right, if a band is playing at the Sherman Chances are they are in Main Street Jukebox too. read more
