There are individual booths set up as studios where artists work making, sculpture, jewelry, painting etc The old turn of the century building is set up to display the produced art of these and other local artists. As a result there is a Huge variety of artistic styles to choose from. Also,all of the art I saw was priced right. Usually one of the things you find in these types of cooperative shops is overpriced work. Not here. The other thing that stands out is the quality of work. It's all pretty good. Again,in a lot of places,displayed work is average at best I'd say this is a great place to add to your list of " finds" if you're looking for art. Go!

For this class all you need is clothes that you can get paint on, they provided everything else, including a canvas, a glass of wine and snacks. The class is held in the gallery surrounded by some incredible works by local artists. The gallery itself is beautiful and inviting. Tamie holds classes in a lot of different mediums and has kids, family and couples classes too. Check them out even if you're just curious about it. She's fun to visit with and makes art a do-able hobby for anyone.

I am in Oklahoma at our lake home, when we realize on Thursday, we didn't get a canvas framed. We drove to Sherman, Texas, last Thursday to Hobby Lobby as they have a photo frame studio. They could have it done in 2 weeks. I needed it NOW for Sunday's shower. We both were exhausted and overwhelmed as time was of the essence. We turned to Yelp, and found Sparrows Gallery. One phone call and Tammy said it wasn't an issue. So I arrived in Denison, Tx, about 25 miles from our lake home on Friday morning. I arrived at 9:45, they opened at 10am, on Friday. Tammy was calm, most welcoming, genuine, sincere and most helpful. I needed to run some much needed last minute errands and returned in an hour. Our canvas was extremely beautifully framed by her amazing husband Mark. They both are incredible and so warm and friendly. They invited me to an an art showing that evening and I would have loved to attend. They have beautiful signed, numbered paintings from various artists. Mark, Tammy, and beautiful small doggie Abby are an asset to Texoma Land. I have a numbered canvas I bought for my son recently and will take to them to frame. So proficient in art and framing. I left with a beautiful canvas and a custom necklace made by a 73 year old artist which is stunning. Thank you, Mark, Tammy, and precious Abby. I've been to the Wichita Falls Art Association Gallery a couple of times during the year and never…read moregot around to reviewing it until just now. Every time I've gone to this particular gallery, I always see something different from local artists in the the community and artists across the United States of America, mostly of which are in Texas and Oklahoma. The size of the gallery is limited of course to its small size, but the content is amazing and varies from photographs to stain glass to sculptures and even prints. This is quite the fun activity if you have an interest in the arts.

I was originally drawn to Giddens because I was looking specifically for Manuel Sarmiento's new 'home' after the Artisan's Collective in the BAD closed down (wahhhh) & found he has quite a bit of work here. Also my daughter needed to research female artists for her an art class assignment, so I just happened to be able to have my cake and eat it too here. That day we both accomplished our goals and she walked away with a plethora of (LOCAL) artists to be inspired by and bring to the attention of her instructors and classmates; I walked away with 3 pieces I LOVE. Two pieces (a sculpture and table) by Manuel Sarmiento & a diptych by Rosemary Riddle-Achelpohl. (See pics, aren't they amazing!) Let me also say that a great bonus to this gallery is that it's staffed by said artists, not just someone there just for a paycheck. What a joy to be able to speak with them about their work, hear their stories & see their passion for their craft. There's nothing like having a direct connection to the artists themselves. But don't fret, they know not only about their own work but have vast knowledge on all of the Gallery happenings and other artists showing in this gallery. So ask away about anything and if they don't know the answer they will jump through hoops to get it. Talk about Service! I was so impressed with the time and energy spent on both myself and my daughter in our different goals for the trip. The pic I took is awful, but if you know your art mediums, you can clearly see how remarkable it is that this was done in watercolor. Ms. Brotherton is truly mind-blowing in her talent, a master! As usual Cherie was helpful, focused, accommodating, knowledgeable, and a bonus; she's thoughtful. She remembers her clients on sight. She remembers what they bought. She cares! GO to GIDDENS!!!
