Mine was outstanding, so I feel compelled to talk about it. I had to have two teeth pulled and 5 cavities filled. Yes, what a mess--everyone remember to brush AND floss! All the procedures have been completed except for 2 fillings. The staff is always consummately professional, and also reassuring and kind. My anxiety levels for going to the dentist are beyond ridiculous - bordering a phobia - and when I told them this, they did their absolute best to put me at ease (and they succeeded). In fact, this last visit, I opted to have two teeth worked on at the same time instead of two separate visits even though that meant I'd be in the dentist chair for a bit longer. I can't speak to every patient's experience, but mine matched what I've since read about this chain's treatment plans for new patients. She practiced in the area for other dental offices before deciding to open her own practice in SoPo. I saw on her website that she obtained her license from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, so she's wicked smart too! The first thing I noticed when I walked in for my appointment was how clean and beautiful the office was. It instantly put me at ease. I have been in some really crappy dental offices over the years, and nothing makes me more worried than a dirty dental office. There was also a very nice, and clean, children's activity area. The cleaning, check up and x-rays that were performed at Fox Family were all thorough and painless. While I had a few areas I could work on (cough...flossing), she never talked to me with a condescending tone. Most importantly, she didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need, which seems to be a thing these days in health care. She was upfront with the price on everything, and when my insurance covered more than expected, the office called immediately to issue me a refund. This seems obvious, but I had a similar situation with my last dentist and they didn't inform me of the overcharge, and when I saw it on my insurance statement, they really didn't want to refund me (one of the many reasons I switched dentists). Fox Family Dentistry is the standard of dentistry that all dental offices should live up to. If you are in the market for a new dentist, I suggest giving them a call.

When I told a colleague my horror story, she recommended Progressive and even gave me a recommendation card with a discount off of my first visit. When I called to schedule my appointment, I was told that all initial visits take about two hours. Yikes- that's a long time to keep a mouth open! At 8:00 on the appointed morning I opened the door with trepidation. My reaction was immediate- relief! The waiting room was cheerful and bright and the receptionist friendly and welcoming. The other patients even looked happy to be there. I sat down long enough to text my husband about my good feelings when I was called back by a smiley hygienist who gave me a tour of the office. A tour! Never once have I ever been given a tour of a dentist's office. It's clean, modern, and every employee I passed smiled and waved. The two hours flew right by! Regrettably I can't remember my hygienist's name- but she was really sweet and funny. She and the dentist, Dr. Fox, asked me lots of questions, walked me through my x-rays, explained every step of the cleaning process, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire visit. Not only did they tell me the work I would need done to improve my smile, but they also recognized and praised my daily personal mouth care habits. Then they sent me on my way with a goodie bag of floss, tooth paste, a tooth brush, a water bottle, and an appointment in November. Progressive was such a breath of fresh air compared to my previous dental providers. They didn't try to bamboozle me. They weren't patronizing. They were kind and didn't act as though my presence was an inconvenience. They genuinely seem to enjoy and take pride in the work they do. I'm recommending them to all my friends.
