Highly recommended, and i intend to go back to test more dishes.

Horrifying!! I really don't want to be overly dramatic here. But I TRULY had such an awful…read moreexperience here last night with five of my colleagues. We didn't even end up ordering food because we were treated so horribly by the manager/owner(?) We just paid for our wine and left. First off, it's a little confusing because they don't bring you a menu, instead there's one chalk board (with about a thousand things on it) that goes around from table to table. Which is fine! But they don't tell you this when you sit down. They did bring us a wine list which had TONS of options with pictures. Great. But we weren't looking to spend €350 on a bottle, so we ordered their house Chianti, which was lovely. Then we got to the good part. I was the only one at our table who spoke Italian, so I was translating some of the items on the menu for my colleagues who didn't understand for instance what the hell "gamberi" were (& the funny thing is, the owner didn't even know the proper translation of several items..... So how are people supposed to know what to order??) Fine. All good. But while this is happening, the manager/owner comes over and kind of starts scolding/lecturing me?? I couldn't really understand (or even believe!) what was happening at first. He kept pushing us to order "a nice appetizer for the whole table". & I explained that we didn't want an appetizer, we all just wanted to order a plate of pasta each, because we had all had our fill of meat on this trip! This is when we gets AGGRESSIVE & completely rude to me!! Saying "this is a restaurant, not a pizzeria. You can't just order one dish. You have to order at least two plates per person." Then he angrily says if we want a pizzeria, there's one around the corner. Literally shouting at us! So I said great, then that's where we'll go! Unbelievable. It wasn't so much their UNPRINTED requirement of two dishes per person. It was his completely unprofessional and hostile attitude he had while explaining this to us. Unbelievable! I will be sure to notify ALL of my colleagues who travel here to Frankfurt literally every week to never ever go to this horrid place.

We sat outside at communal tables under umbrellas, so we could people watch in the square and enjoy the beautiful day. We were starving after a day of travel, so we ordered a ton of food: the tomato soup and goulash soup to start--which were both so good! I can't name the slice used in the goulash, but the flavor was robust and so filling! I could eat both soups every day and die happy! Next we had our main courses: my husband tried the Rindwurst mit Kartoffelsalat (rindwurst is a beef based sausage) and I tried the Krakauerwurst mit Kartoffelsalat (krakauerwurst is a pork based sausage); kartoffelsalat is a potato salad. Entrees also came w a slaw of carrots and cabbage and a slice of brown bread. The sausage was so flavorful, the potato salad delicious, and that brown brea!! So glad this was our first dinner in Germany!!
