When I arrived at the restaurant there were only 2 people in the restaurant. I was seated promptly, and brought a cup of luke warm coffee that was full of grinds. Then I was forgotten about. Many other people came in and finally a different waitress seen my menu still sitting on the table and took my order. I ordered eggs benedict and a fresh fruit salad. I then ordered another cup of coffee and told the waitress the problem with the coffee and showed her the grinds in it. The next cup of coffee was exactly the same and I heard the person at the next table complaining about a cup full of grinds. My breakfast arrived. The hollandaise was starting to congeal and was not runny, nor were the egg yolks (they were hard cooked). I couldn't send my meal back because I never seen the wairtress again until she was bringing my bill. I did tell her when she brought my bill that it was not good. No discount or anything, not even the horrible coffee was free (and it should have been). I left and went to McDonald's to get a coffee. How sad is that?

Friday afternoon, approaching 4pm, we parked in the large lot, and had a refreshing sample of Wandr (non-alcoholic sparkling tea beverage) on the way into the main entrance. A brewery tour was just beginning, so we were gratefully whisked into the cool production area behind the shoppe with James, a home-brew maker, beer enthusiast and clear fan of Muskoka Brewery. Tour details: It costs just $5 for about 40 minutes to tour the production site with interesting and surprising details of how this became one of Canada's favourite breweries. No long boring lists of facts and figures. Photos are encouraged, and you'll emerge back into the brew shoppe with a free frosty cold can of the beer that started it all: Muskoka Brewery Cream Ale. Once back in the retail area, you'll find t-shirts, hoodies and hats with the cool northern vibe, and sample anything on the menu. We tried (then bought) gin, Wandr (Lemonade Lemongrass!) and several different craft beers. Though we didn't stay to dine on the large covered patio, we could hear the live music while we shopped, and were surprised at how genuinely helpful and friendly every staff member was. If you want to chill out and enjoy good beverages in a laid-back, woodsy yet polished Canadian vibe - this is worth the drive.

She was basically down to the cone at this point... I asked the young lady behind the counter to take a look and replace what was left not knowing how much more plastic was in there. She said she couldn't replace because my daughter ate most of it. I asked that she simply replace what was left. She argued her point that this was a six dollar cone... the other young lady started to make the cone ( she seemed to get it). At this point my daughter wanted to leave so we left. Silver lining I suppose was the conversation I had with my daughter about what good and bad customer service looks like.

I know what you've been thinking. You've been thinking that for your entire life there's one store…read morethat has always alluded you. And that is a store where you can buy your alpaca skeins of yarn, your alpaca sweaters, your alpaca plushies that are so soft it feels like your hand is moving through absolutely nothing at all, but on top of that there was something else that you wanted. You weren't ready to make two stops, you only have time to make one. And you had to get home for dinner! Yes, you can buy your dry pasta here as well as your alpaca hats. But, that pasta is not going to dress itself. Just like you need to dress yourself in the best here, you're pasta needs to be dressed in the best as well. That's why there are no fewer than a dozen different varieties of olive oil, that you can buy in little tested guys, or fill a large jar from huge vats in the center of the store. For what it's worth, I can assure you've never seen anything like this before.

This is a great little local pizza place and bakery too - they also sell sourdough bread as well as…read morea few other things like farm fresh eggs, and their pizza dough is made with their sourdough recipe. Apparently they used to own two other restaurants in town, but are in the process of closing them down and selling them due to the downturn in business during the pandemic. The pizza oven remains open though and is a great option! We picked up a pizza to take back to our AirBnB on a cold rainy day and it was everything we could have asked for.
