I was told by the owner that there is nothing free about the UPS model in PR, and the vendor suffers a fee whenever a package enters or exits their premises. So yes, there is an unexpected fee, but when compared to the time and lines at the UPS facility adjacent the airport, it's a reasonable amount. Btw, the UPS facility is closed on the weekends, so there's that to consider too.

When you call to inquire, and you have to be Sherlock Holmes to get the number, the will not tell you anything about your package. It's as if they are holding packages hostage and don't want you to have them!
