Just a regular cleaning but with the initial "deep cleaning" fee the price came to over $300. Then I get an e-mail reminder at the last possible minute to cancel the next appointment, and they want to charge the deep cleaning fee again! Tried to cancel but...yes another $79 fee. Not worth it. Update: I received a call from customer service this morning offering to waive the $79 cancellation fee. Also offered discount on next cleaning. Pretty spotty service and I've finally decided to stop using them. Some cleaners are great and some are terrible, and despite several reassurances that they'll send the same cleaners -- they never do. I acknowledge that, as I don't like strangers in my home, I did not check her work when she was leaving, although she did ask me to see if it was satisfactory. This is not the same woman they sent the first 2 times I used the service, who were very thorough, conscientious and professional. This latest one was very personable and polite, but I was not happy when I subsequently checked her work. Some examples: - The bathtub and shower wall were untouched, I had even removed the curtain and liner to facilitate access. I guess I had no understanding of what comprised the obvious. - I removed everything from the counter under the bathroom sink and left those doors open. I said she should clean that (the only cupboards I wanted touched) in lieu of cleaning the master bedroom. Well, like the shower, it was as filthy before as after. I also had to go over the shelf that is part of and surrounds the bathroom sink (all one [piece) to redo what she missed, although one would think one solid piece of marble should be easy to clean. All of this is even more strange as she had the bathroom door closed for 20 minutes and I heard a lot of banging. There is caked in dust on the shelf Similarly, I had to redo the kitchen counter for grime and grit I felt by passing my fingers over it. The counted is granite, so it should have been easy to clean. I instructed her not to clean inside any appliances, but i would have though small appliances like my can opener and kettle would have been attended to. The couch cushions were not vacuumed in between. In other news it was unexpected to hear her exclaim the she weighed 70 kilos when she used my scale. Apparently, as I found out to my chagrin and unnecessary edification that she used to be a model, left behind a six year old son on the other side of the world and wants to study design. If I use Maid TO again, I want a guarantee that she will not be back. And I want to know what you will do to make whole 1) this appalling excuse for "services," and, 2) how I will get back the 2 hours of my life that I wasted being home for this when I would have been working? read more

I've used Maid in TO a few times now and I'm always very pleased and impressed. The employees work very hard, efficiently and affectively. The process of hiring the ladies is also very easy. You just select all the different areas in your house you would like cleaned. I've always selected the base clean with a basement clean and I have yet to be disappointed. I'm actually re-posting my positive review of Maidstr, because I thankfully discovered Maidstr following a horrible and extremely disappointing experience with Maid in T.O. "Thank you, Maidstr! I had recently had a horrible experience with an online cleaning service (Maid in T.O.) - I had booked them for a one-time deep clean prior to the long weekend. I had even phoned them to discuss and confirm. Two cleaners arrived on Friday morning, walked in and said they could only stay for 3 hours, looked around and said they couldn't do a deep clean in 3 hours (3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house, finished basement, with one pet - just as I had described online), and turned around and left. This left me in the position of heading into the weekend, with guests coming, with a house that still needed cleaning. No apologies or attempts to remedy the situation or send a team that could stay longer. I was at work all day on Friday, so I couldn't do anything until Saturday morning. Despite this horrible and frustrating experience, I looked online for alternatives and found Maidstr. I booked something on the weekend and received confirmation for a deep clean for first thing Tuesday morning. A team of three arrived at the confirmed time, looked around, and got to work. They cleaned the house top to bottom, baseboards, sofa, dining room chairs, spot cleaned the walls, and did all of the usual kitchen/bathroom/surface cleaning as well. They even swept the front porch and cleaned the front mat so that new dirt wouldn't be tracked in. In just over three hours, the house was clean and I was relieved and happy that I hadn't encountered a second disappointing customer service experience. I had used Maidstr for a one-time deep clean, but because the team was so communicative, attentive, and great to work with, I plan to use them on an ongoing basis. I never actually had this service clean my house, so this review is just for the booking process. I live in Scarborough. So I search Yelp for home cleaning services in....Scarborough! Genius of me, right? This was one of the top companies in the list. I go on their website, check them out, and decided to book an appointment. I put in all of my information, including my address, postal code, and credit card information. I then get a call saying that they no longer service Scarborough, only downtown Toronto. I ask why, then, did the system allow me to book an appointment? Why did the website say they serve Toronto and "surrounding areas?" The woman who called me didn't have any answers. She just said that the owner has already been made aware of the issue, so I'm not sure why this owner hasn't already fixed the problem. I understand that service areas may change over time, but that's important information that should always be apparent on a business' website. I don't appreciate that my time was wasted and a hold was placed on my card that will now not be reversed for a few days. read more

Awful experience with this company. I booked a window from 11:30 to 2:30. The two cleaners texted me about three hours early. I had to tell them to come back at the correct window time. There was no apology from them for the text or for the confusion. They were rude when they showed up. About 10 minutes in I get a call from the main office that the cleaning will take extra time and I will be charged an hourly rate because of the state of the apartment. I find it really hard to believe they could assess my apartment and its state when they didn't even step foot in the kitchen or living room. They looked at the bathroom and bedroom and made the assessment. Never looked at the rest of the apartment. I would have been more than happy to pay for extra time had they done a thorough assessment of the place or pointed out to me what their concerns were, but they didn't. They made me feel like my apartment was filthy and dirty. I was really insulted by the way it was handled. It was handled horribly. This was my second time using them. Last time the cleaner was great. Friendly and thorough. Except she accidentally turned my stove on when wiping it and had I not been home there could have been a fire. read more

This service was quite terrible. I will never use them again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone in Toronto. They gouge you price wise, they are dishonest with their pricing policy, and yes, they did stress over the phone on the DAY of cleaning that they have a policy to re-evaluate pricing on cleaning, but really?!? $1,000.00+?!?! Each time I've booked (relatively last minute - mostly next day) I've used their mobile website which makes it very easy to select a day and time to schedule. Confirmations always come through email so I know my time is confirmed. I've had the same team for each of my cleanings and Mariya does a fantastic job arriving on time and leaving the place spotless / looking great. Iryna from this company did a stellar job cleaning my 3-br townhouse. She was able to deal with very tough stains in our kitchen and bathrooms with great result. Her attention to detail was also amazing as wife and I still havn't found any corner that she missed (we made a game out of it). She even cleaned up some clutters I left there not intended for cleaning. I would have liked her to ask more questions about what needs done or not. But I can't complain about the end result. Aside from totally ignoring the surface of our kitchen floor, we can see cleaning product residue in the stove burner plates which need to be recleaned, left their cleaning materials and rags on our clean pillows and linens (which we had to rewash), carpets that clearly hadn't been vaccumed, and poorly done mirrors and oddly enough, a cleaning of the front edge of the vanity but not the side edge?? We informed the service that we did not want them to send this crew over to our house again, and tha let we simply wanted a refund and to move on with another provider. It was agreed that no one would bother us and to a 50% refund. At 5pm the same crew showed up at the front of our house, did not listen to us when we said we did not want them there and to leave. They kept hassling us in front of our neighbours, at which point we felt pressured to let them in. This is extremely unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable to be so confrontational. read more

The company paid for the repair, but that was the end of our relationship... I was expecting them monthly... when they didn't come in January on the agreed-upon date, I called and was told that they had no teams to do a house in my area.... gosh, gee.... We booked our cleaning online, but ran into issues when we emailed to ask how long it would take, as we got no reply (even though they told us later that they did, in fact, reply). On the day of the cleaning, only one woman arrived even though we were expecting two (she claimed the other girl was sick), and she arrived just before the cutoff of their arrival timeframe without giving us any kind of heads up. The woman didn't bring anything with her save for a pair of rubber gloves and one or two cleansers even though their website says they bring everything they'll require. Luckily we had supplies on hand (Windex, paper towel, vacuum, mop, etc), because who knows what kind of job would have been done if we didn't have what she needed. The worst part of the experience came when we called the head office to complain, at which point the person we spoke to said they would comp us for the cleaning as well a give us a complimentary cleaning next time. Our credit card was still charged regardless, and we when called to ask why this is, the person we spoke to was very condescending and said there's no way they would follow through on the promises made by their colleague, instead offering us a $20 refund. We told them to forget about it and that we were never using their service again. Based on his response, he didn't seem to care that they were losing our business at all. In the end the girl did a pretty good job and took 3h 45m to clean our 2 bed/2 bath condo, though it would have taken half the time if 2 people had come as expected, which would have been much less intrusive and inconvenient. read more
