When I first moved to Portland I hired Bill to do some handiwork around my new apartment. I needed help and fast , he was so consider it and made himself available on a Saturday for me. I wasn't sure exactly how much work I needed or how long it would take, but Bill was very understanding. What was thought to be a few hours of work turned out to be all Saturday. He was at my apartment from 10 AM till 8 at night. There were several times where I needed items from Home Depot and Ace Hardware store and he left and picked them all up for me. He is a phenomenal handyman. He mounted my 47" Flat screen tv up on the wall. He put 15 different shelves . He created a pot rack , by using material he purchased from the hardware store. He created a system to store and display all of my mugs in my kitchen . I have a studio apartment and he helped design a closet system that doubled my space. Bill carried up all of my shelves and some furniture up two levels of stairs for me too . Bill was kind and I felt safe and happy to have him in my home. He was extremely meticulous, paid close attention to every detail and I swear my apartment was spotless when he left. He cleaned and mopped all of the dust left from the walls and helped take the garbage and boxes downstairs for me. The second time I hired Maid in heaven Shonda came to clean the apartment. and Bill came to do a few more shelves. The previous week I made homemade potpourri and boiled it on the stove which caused there to be many stains that were left on my ceiling and walls. When they were done cleaning the walls were spotless the ceiling was bright and white. Everything was perfect. All of my items were dusted and handled with such care. They are kind and trustworthy people and I am so glad I found them!!! I would recommend them for any kind of handyman help you may need in your home and fantastic cleaning service. Thank you again Bill and Shonda for being such hard working and wonderful people. . You both are fabulous and extremely reliable. Once again I would highly recommend maids in heaven. I guess we are the spoiler here! We used them for a few months (weekly) and they did an adequete job. They didn't rock it out of the park by any means. That being said, on the morning they were supposed to show up, I get a text that they can no longer do our home as they are not making enough money! Really? I had my home cleaned by Maid In Heaven and they did a wonderful job. Shonda was on time, completed everything that needed to be done in the amount of time I was quoted and the rate was more than fair for the top quality cleaning she did. I'm a pretty cleanly person so I was very impressed by how clean she was able to get the hard to clean stuff like the stove top and bathroom shower. I really don't like write bad reviews but feel it's worth it to share to be sure you ask if Shonda will be doing the work. I was moving in from out of state and booked for two hours for two people. I only wanted the bathroom and kitchen done. Shonda unfortunately was having health issues and sent her daughter (Paige) and her "boyfriend" to perform the work. An hour or so after they were scheduled to arrive my friend stopped by to see if they were doing okay. They had decided to take a lunch in the middle of the two hour shift, (really?) so they weren't even there. they sent a couple of pictures upon completion and of course they showed the best two spots. I added on an 80$ tip. Upon arrival I was very disappointed. Some examples: Two walls in the bathroom were very dirty The top of the fridge and microwave weren't even touched. They missed several cupboards all together and the stove and stove side cabinets were coated with grease. Granted Shonda offered after I spoke with her to have her husband come out and steam the stove but my friend and I were already halfway through it. She said because my microwave wasn't working her daughter wasn't able to do a good job on the stove grease. "???" (It wasn't plugged in I discovered, and I didn't require a microwave to complete the job) She felt bad so I asked her to refund the tip at the very least..."crickets" I'm sorry but if I spent two hours in a bathroom and two hours in a kitchen it would be immaculate. Be sure that Shonda is present for cleaning, At least to supervise. I waited two months to write this review so not just blowing off steam. read more
