A very charming little Indian restaurant. It is upstairs, although there is some outdoor seating, so best to phone if there are any mobility problems.
These is nicely laid out and has some pictures on an Indian theme around the walls, which are a sort of magenta colour.
There are white table cloths and it looks inviting.
I went with Templar and her partner, who are vegetarians.
However, I stayed carnevorous and had lamb malaya, with aloo sag and Peshwari naan.
Mine was absolutely fabulous. It is a favourite of mine, anyway. It was perfection to me. It seems that Templar's partner was a bit disappointed that his was not quite as good as the last time they ate there. In fact he was, because he said so.
We were treated to liquors on the house, and I wondered if it was because I was a new customer. I feel now perhaps it's more likely due to Richard having accidently left a ten pound note there last time. Am I a bit cynical?
No fifth star because they play the most dreadful music, which got louder, (I was feeling a bit fragile) and annoyingly it stopped just as we were leaving.
A tiny niggle; according to my calculations, I should have been given 10 pence change. As a tip was left, I do feel it was my perogative to decline or accept the change. If it had been offered, I'd have put it with the tip!
Oh, and a little man in costume stands in the street and escorts customers upstairs. I found this just a bit twee.
All in all, a great meal and I would go back. I do recommend it. Just ask for the music to be turned down a little. read more
