toilet not flushed, thank god that's all that was in there
Heidi L.

Front desk lady, after not answering the phone the 1st time I called for the longest c/n't even tell me how to get there from a mile away at a local starbucks and this is a small town. C/n't even give the right address! Asked her to ensure she picks up the phone if I need to call her right away and didn't do that. Upon arrival had to wait forever for her to come down from "cleaning" another room when she knew I was arriving within minutes. Crack hotels were cleaner than this. entering room had to plug in all the lights. Phantom electricity? Slept with clothes on, too afraid to catch something.

Most disgusting bathroom I have ever seen!!!! Far from clean.

Most disgusting room I have ever been in. Toilet was so dirty. Hair everywhere. Bathtub was filthy, our AC had mold on it. Our bed sheets were covered in hairs. Black things under the blanket between sheets. Our room joined another, when walking in that door was open to the other room. In that room was a torn up mattress, 3 old AC units, A DIRTY DIAPER! Also a ton of random items. Very very disappointed!!!

This is an older motel that is clearly in the process of being upgraded with love. I liked the…read moreaccent wall colors, the modern bright bedspreads, the large format print above the bed, and there were new, attractive blackout curtains that really did cut the light. The mattress was not overly soft and the bed frame was solid. There were two different types of pillows on the bed. The person who checked me late at night was kind and professional. Is it luxurious? No. Some fixtures are leftover from the 80's (sink and tub). Some of the outlets attached to lamps no longer have a solid connection - not dangerous, just not reliable - but I was able to find outlets to charge all of my devices. The shower water pressure and towels were fine. I slept really well. I am impressed with the upgrades being made by the new management/owners. For me, this motel is a great value. The current owners seem to be doing a good job of prioritizing the upgrades. What could easily be modernized has been. New blackout curtains and new beds are important. Rooms are getting new heating/cooling units. Free WiFi. Ample well-lit parking. Easy access to I-88. If you need an affordable hotel room near Dixon, you can't go wrong with this one. It's covers all your basic hotel needs, no frills. But I think they do offer coffee and some breakfast. I was impressed by the effort the current owners are putting into this property. I slept well and would 100% stay here again! Were it not for the fact that this hotel is one town over from where I need to be over the next few days, I would have cancelled my room at the boutique hotel in a State Park and stayed at this hotel. (I only arrived at this hotel, because the boutique hotel messed up my late check in and I needed a room at 11:40 at night. At more than 50% less than the State Park Hotel, I would have been quite happy here and this room would have met all my needs for the week.) I wish I'd taken some pictures. A fancy Tru hotel is being built behind this one and will be perfect those who want to stay in a new chain hotels and who don't mind the $$$. This motel is a great option for those value-seekers who are don't need the most modern amenities and understand the quirks of an older property. I would like to come back.

Clean and updated room. Only disappointment was that the jets in the bathtub did not work. The Candlelight restaurant next door provides room service. 8 couples stayed at this hotel while attending a wedding in Rock Falls. Had we had time in our…read moreschedules we would have moved to a different hotel. This hotel was disgusting and filthy. The toilets in the bathrooms had not been cleaned and in one room did not work at all. The previous guest obviously had not been able to flush it and they left it their feces in it which was not cleaned between guests by housekeeping and the toilet was not fixed. They were moved to a different room, but that room was dirty too. In another couples room, there were no pillows & no towels and their bathroom was dirty too. In fact, all 8 rooms had dirty bathrooms. The TV's did not work and the Wifi was not functioning. The phones in the rooms did not work. The last night we were all there we were sitting in the breakfast area visiting with each other and a mouse ran out of the cupboards under where breakfast is served. Needless to say, no one ate breakfast there the next morning. This hotel was so bad, we questioned how they have a certificate of occupancy as there were many health & safety issues. Do not stay there!!!

A trouble-free experience at this lower-end hotel chain. Days Inn can be pretty hit or miss and I…read morecan say, at least of this current review, it's decent! The place has been recently renovated and it has a very sleek modern lobby. I'll run through the pros and cons for the one night stay I had during a road trip. Pros: *Complimentary breakfast that was on the small side but had everything you needed. Filled me up and food was good. I drank like 4 of those OJ cups because it was so good. *Pool was relatively clean and it was nice that it had an indoor area with windows *Room was actually pretty nice and very clean. Bathroom was shockingly modern with marble shower and brand new shower head. *Indian family running place has a restaurant right next door. They were very helpful with check in and let me stay (under 21) in the hotel with a security deposit. *Bed was super comfortable and room overall was nice for price Cons: -Hallways smelled putrid and smoky. -Pool could have been like 10 degrees warmer -Sink and shower were extremely slow to drain Overall, a great bang for the buck that is accommodating for travelers and under 21 needing a place to stay.

When we called to make the reservations were told there's a sec deposit of $80, fine no prob. Get to the hotel that evening and we stood in the lobby for 20mins before anyone which turns out is the ONLY one that works/ lives here and the lobby looks like a package distribution center for his other business. We pay for the sec deposit and the 4 nights gather our things to go to the room and oh by the way there's no water.....the boiler is broken but the part should be here tonight. The room smelled like dirty feet and cheap teenage boy cologne. The great restaurant in the brochure we saw is his personal kitchen now the restaurant is closed along with the gaming area with the pool table and slot machines. The pool smelled like dead fish. We were ready to leave on day 2. The part for the boiler never came. We checked out early to go to another hotel. At the desk were greeted by an angry ride possibly Jamaican woman who took our key and said "now you go" didn't get our deposit back or the money for the other 2 days we paid for. When we call he doesn't speak English now and doesn't understand us. And Expedia keeps giving us the run around about getting our money back. If I could give a lower rating I would.
