This is one of those tours you want to schedule when you first get to Laurel. It gives you a jist…read moreof the town. I booked a tour for 2 on their website. You do not pay online, you pay in person once you arrive for the tour. You meet on a corner in the downtown area of Laurel. The golf cart we rode sat 7 people plus the tour guide. We loaded up on the golf cart and off we went. We stopped at many spots including Scotsman General Store to see the items for sale and into the shop where lots of the Home Town show is filmed. The tour guide assisted with taking photos of my mom and I infront of the iconic blue Scotsman pickup truck. We drove over to the Laurel Mercantile for a quick visit. We got our photo taken infront of the outside wall of the store where another blue pickup truck is located. We drove around the streets lined with older homes that were revamped in the Home Town show. This was my favorite part hearing about the homes and work that went into them. We even got to see a few homes under construction that Erin and Ben are working on for upcoming shows. The tour lasted about an hour and we were dropped off back at the same city corner. This gives you a good incite of the town and a starting point for your further adventures while visiting.

The luxury van was very spacious and comfortable, he gave us a detailed run down of what the day included, provided bottled water throughout the entire duration, took us on a more scenic exciting drive to the plantation/swamp and he also told us a lot of information about New Orleans culture, history, wildlife, and customs. It was amazing how well he knew his hometown. We were very impressed! He really made us feel welcomed, and I hope to do another tour with his company if we're ever in the area again. His stories brought to life all the dry facts I had read. Almost a year later I joined Todd on his Mardi Gras tour. Having experienced two Mobile Mardi Gras hearing his tales brought it all full circle and the how's and who's were answered. I would recommend these tours to anyone, local or guests. They are informative without being overwhelming. My next tour will be one of his evening tours and I'm ever so looking forward to it!

We received a good explanation of how to navigate the museum. We were here for about an hour. We wandered around taking in the beauty of the many different exhibits. I specifically liked the exhibit that showed an art piece and the artist interpretation of that in their own way.

I think this probably goes without saying, but this isn't a terribly kid-friendly tour unless you have a remarkably patient and well-behaved little one -- lots of fragile, antique things!
