Originally I made a mistake of going to the dental surgeon recommended by our orthodontist. Two hours and $259 later just for laughing gas we returned home defeated. My son has a severe fear of needles and he would just not allow the surgeon to make the shots. Discouraged I called All About Kids to inquire with them on any recommendations. To my surprised I found out that they can perform this procedure. I made and appointment for consult and braced myself for another difficult try. My son felt an ease the moment we entered. He saw little kids and felt comfortable there. The assistant helped him pick the movie to watch then Dr Ursitti came over, assessed, and to eliminate the need for us to return again she has agreed to do the procedure right away. My son did attempt to get up several times during the procedure, however, both doctor and the assistant helped him get back to the task. I watched in awe how they reasoned with him. Everything was finished shortly after. My son was so happy and I was relieved. No laughing gas was used either ;) I will continue recommending this practice to everyone with kids! As for my son. Once we were brought back, the hygienist lowered the chair without warning or explanation, which immediately frightened our child and caused significant distress. As she became increasingly upset, the response was to suggest holding her hands and legs to continue the exam. For a non-urgent, first visit, this did not feel appropriate to us. During this time, a second hygienist made joking comments and laughed about our child's distress, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. When we chose to end the visit, we were told "it will be the same next time," rather than discussing alternative, child-centered approaches. This was surprising, as we have had very different experiences at other pediatric dental practices where first visits focus on comfort, narration, and gradual exposure rather than restraint. Parents considering this office should be aware of the approach used here and decide whether it aligns with their expectations for a child's first dental experience.

When we needed braces for our son, the name we were given was Dr. Kemp. He is the definition of local legend, and he's earned those accolades the hard way: He created a superior practice and provides amazing care for patients and family alike. Dr. Hall is the other heavy hitter in the office. Impressive in all ways, working with skill and compassion. If you're like me, environment plays a huge role in experience. Whether you call them 4 times to reschedule or walk in they always greet you the same, with kindness and with warmth. Nicole is one of my favorites at the front desk. All the ortho docs are insanely awesome, there simply is no better place. All the staff also is great at what they do. As I sat with it I grew concerned because the treatment plan included sedation. Expensive and risky. I asked for the X-rays which they sent, but I also requested the plan be written up with a rationale and any other possible options. I'm not a medical professional and do not understand everything thrown at me in the office. There was a follow up phone call where the staff proceeded to tell me verbally the plan. I explained it was intensive and costly and I don't understand so I would like it written up and may seek a second option to make sure this was the right path. I was told they welcomed a second option but that my $1000 deposit was non refundable. I found this really disconcerting. I understand the need of a deposit but when there is genuine concern and you have to make decisions on the spot, I also think making it no refundable with prior notice is poor customer service which I expressed to them. They then sent me an email telling me "our professional bond had been broken". Very concerning for a parent looking to be more informed in making medical decisions for their child. First I felt pressured to agree, then I felt vilified for asking questions.

The toy wall is also incentive helping parents bribe their children to get their teeth cleaned. :) The nurse and front desk are always friendly and kind. 2nd visit went much better as we prepared our child with books and practices the doctor recommended at the previous visit. Dr. Oparaeke explained everything (in kid terms) she was going to do before doing it and showed my child the tools she was going to use and showed how they work.
