J'Adore is an excellent salon. I purchased the hair and it has not shed at ALL. I found the…read moreservice and clientelle completely professional, knowledgeable about hair care and enjoyable. My experience was therapeutic to say the least. No gossip, profanity, or filthy music. The experience was refreshing. We laughed, talked, and encouraged one another. And that's the atmosphere. My her was did, you hear!! I love my no maintance middle part closure. My hair has not shed one strand. Really NOT ONE STRAND. I strong recommend this salon and the investment in you is well worth the cost.

She took absolute excellent care of my hair. It grew like weeds in her care. Michelle chose an appropriate relaxer for my desired & hair type, and she ensured my relaxers never burned. She was usually able to get me into her chair on time, with natural delays here & there. They worked with me when I had an issue that caused me to require cancellation at the last minute. I also like their equipment and the seating was comfortable. I'll say that some of the stylists are really not good about replying to requests for information, and I usually had to call the salon to get a reply. The website is decent but really needs to be updated. A detailed FAQ section would save potential clients a lot of time. Both of these issues are easily fixable, though. Parking was usually fine & stress-free and it's on a major bus line. Although I'm taking a different direction with my hair, I definitely recommend this salon for folks looking for a permanent salon home.

I'm going to preface this review with a statement that I have been wearing wigs since I was in my…read more30's. I'm now 66 years old and it's been almost 30 years of wearing wigs. I had a kidney transplant when I was 14 years old and all my hair fell out due to the medications I was taking. I've learned a lot about wigs and how they are made so I was coming from a "space" where I had knowledge of the different kinds of wigs available and on the market. I have also helped many of my fellow kidney patients and chemotherapy patients find wigs as well. Because styles come and go over the years, many of the wigs I have gotten have been discontinued, and I had to "guess" what would look good on me. Sometimes I picked a winner and other times, I wasted money on styles and colors that did not suit me. Over the 30 years I have been wearing wigs, I have spent thousands of dollars. There used to be so many wig stores around that people would use as "try on" stations and then go online and buy the same wig for a cheaper price. Online wig stores do not need to pay rent, or have overhead costs, so many of them were driven out of business with the advent of online sales. It's very hard and almost impossible these days to find a store where you can try on wigs and get expert advice. I noticed Wear Hair for You (the name of the store is a play on the words "We're Here for You) and the few reviews I saw were very good. I will tell you Laura, the shop owner lived up to her store's name. She was "Hair" for me. My experience was stellar. When you go into a store, you have to go knowing that the wig you purchase will most likely be a little bit higher in price than online sites because you are paying the owner for her time, her expertise, and the higher cost of the wig goes towards her rent, and stock. Laura shares space with a Hair Salon/Spa and has some wigs, on display. I am a very blunt person, and I want my salesperson to be the same way. I don't want someone to be a "yes" man or woman. Laura tells it like it is. She was very honest and told me that the style I was wearing was not bad for me, but she had some suggestions that might work better both in style and color. That statement alone, could have led me to say, "Thank you very much for your time, and I'll be back when I need to purchase a new wig." But her honestly led me to stay and see what she would have suggested for me. I'm a very small framed person, so I did not want anything that had too much hair. She steered me towards a beautiful short wig, in a color that she felt would suit me. She draped my head in a white towel and put the color swatch on the top of my head and from what I could tell, it looked perfect. I wasn't prepared to buy the wig on the spot, but needed to go home and think about it. The price was a little higher than I thought, but my thinking is that I wear wigs 100% of the time. I'm as bald as a baby's bottom so I can't wear cheap wigs because if I do, they don't last. I take care of my wigs so one wig can last me about 3 months. I did find similar wigs online, and the prices were very close to what Laura was charging for the wig I wanted. She was not price gouging by any means. My thinking on this was that Laura is a genuine person, she knew what would look nice, she went much further out of the way to help me with payment than I would have expected, and frankly, if I had gotten the wig online and I didn't like it, I would have had to pay return fees, re-stocking fees, and sometimes in my experience, wigs that are purchased online have been used and sometimes have odors to them. Many years ago, I have purchased at least 6-8 wigs at one time to last me through the year, and some came in obviously used because my order would have depleted their stock. By the time I would have returned the wig if it was not right, and paid the re-stocking fee, the extra cost would have been a wash, with Laura's prices, and frankly, Laura deserved fully to be paid for her time and most of all her kindness and compassion. She is a gem. Once I receive the wig, I will update my review to include a picture of before/and/after, but if you want to know you are getting a true opinion and not just a sales pitch, and a person who believes in treating others with kindness but with the truth, you should go to Wear Hair for You. If the wig is as wonderful as Laura was, she has a customer for life. Thank you Laura.

In addition to there not being a plethora of brands there was very limited pre-stretched braiding hair. Also, the limited pre-stretched braiding hair they did have you could primarily only buy in packs containing three bundles rather than just individual packs. That could be a plus or minus depending on your needs. I came in specifically looking for a brand of braiding hair and was not able to find it and the other couple brands were not as good quality wise and/or when dipped in water. However, I did scan the isles to see what other beauty product needs they may be able to satisfy in the future. They have what appeared to be every major brand you could be looking for, including The Mane Choice which is a plus. They also have all of the bonnets, bobby pins, clips and hair ties a girl could want. There are also plenty of NYX make-up products if you like to causally pick those things up too. There were also some clothing items but I didnt scan the clothing too hard because I dont go to the beauty supply store for clothing typically. All in all this store is likely going to have what you're looking for outside of braiding hair. The store appears to have a plethora of extensions and wigs but I dont wear weave anymore so I cant speak too much on the extensions. As a tip I would do a price comparison before purchasing, some of the prices do seem to be on the higher end. Good luck with your beauty needs!

Since this was the first time experiencing this, I wasn't sure what to expect. I wondered if we would be able to find something that she would like and how many hair pieces would she need to try on before finding one. Sharon welcomed us into her studio and was the most pleasant person to do business with. All she knew from my conversation on the phone was that my mother had hair loss on the top of her head and the color of her hair. Sharon chose a hair piece and placed it on my mother's head. Immediately I was looking at the mother I have always known. She then chose one more to try on. We were both sold on the very first hair piece she tried on. Sharon took her time and showed her how to put the hair piece on and gave her plenty of practice on her own. My mother walked out of the studio wearing her new hair piece, like a proud little peacock. Once we returned home, she was so excited about it and said, "this is exactly what I wanted". I would recommend Sharon at Crowning Alternatives to anyone experiencing hair loss. With her expertise and warm, welcoming personality, we had an awesome experience.
