Skip the ice cream & come here! This observatory is owned by the City of Lincoln, & is operated by volunteers. Every Saturday night, visitors are treated to a short film (usually about the current season's constellations). A volunteer will then tell you what's happening in space news right now (Mars exploration, meteor showers, etc.). Then, you'll head out to the observation area, where they roll back the roof & set up 2-3 telescopes. You'll get a chance to look through each, & a friendly volunteer will tell you WHAT exactly you're looking at. It's a tiny building on the south side of Holmes Lake, so if it's a warm night, you can take a romantic walk along the lake if you like. Or, head over to nearby Goodrich or Baskin Robbins fo some ice cream :) TIPS: - Check the hours on the website before you go. - Watch the film first, then do the scopes. - Bring your kids!!

Because this not only keeps happening, it keeps getting weirder and weirder. The last time I was at this hotel, the hot tub was filled with sand. And that's weird, but it was a few years back and I assumed it was some assinine COVID scheme. Since it was just sand, a least it wasn't permanent, right? Well guess what NOW??? It's completely and permanently filled with cement!!! And I'm just wondering , what happened in that hot tub that was SO BAD that filling it with sand wasn't good enough, and they felt compelled to permanently encase it in cement to ensure it would never be used again? P.S. please update your sign to indicate the hot tub capacity is now "zero persons."

I opened the kitchen cabinet to get a glass out and it smelled musty. The bathroom floor had tinsel looking like stuff on it. The tv reception was horrible. The tv channel listing is NOT accurate. It's 10 miles off of 80 and in our opinion not worth it.

We had a slide show of photos of Dad's life in Plattsmouth and Lincoln which we screencast on the 50" TV. People also enjoyed plenty of space to stand and mingle. A large table in front was great for serving ice cream and cake. Guests came locally from Lincoln and Omaha and also from Arkansas, California, Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Texas. We researched other venues and picked this spot because of the amenities, location, ground floor access for mature people, easy parking, and value for cost (very attractive/friendly compared to hotel ballrooms).
