It's not a basic theater bar either. It felt upscale and classy to me. The movie theater is huge. I highly recommend watching a movie in the ultra screen DLX room. They do not play when it comes to surround sound and comfy lounge chair seating!!! I brought a blanket for extraaa cozy feels. I would say it's the next best thing to IMAX. The theater was also pretty clean. Employees were awesome. I'm hoping another good movie comes out soon so we can come back asap!

No matter what time of day you come, the popcorn is GUARENTEED to be stale, and the kitchen is rarely open. I used to come here since 2016-2025 and that's just what we'd expect. Until this theatre didn't have the new Kill Bill back towards the end of last year, this was my main theatre. Then I was forced to go to another Marcus theatre where I realized this one is really just the worst of them all. Not to mention there's been at least three times we've gone and there's been a broken recliner! Thats crazy considering that's your biggest- and dare I say- ONLY amenity. Just go to East Park Cinema, genuinely.

They are super comfy like sitting in your own living room. The popcorn and goodies are tasty and fresh. The prices are not so delicious. If you have an extra $40 bucks on you, you can get a large popcorn and icy soda for two people. Gulp. I suggest either eating before the movie or digging into your piggy bank for the yum yums while watching Top Gun-Maverick starring Tom Cruise! In my opinion, he is worth every dollar I spent with all the snacks and cozy seating in a great theater. The staff rock. They are super cool and friendly. They make sure to offer the best seats, movies, and snacks for an all-around good time. You can't go wrong with picking this theater. They manage long lines seamlessly. Parking is perfect. My sister and I giggled and were in awe of one of the best Tom Cruise movies, delish treats, and seating that makes your toosh go ahh!

Movies are expensive and we all know that, if you go on Tuesdays all movies are $5 and if you go Thursday's students can see movies for $5 and if you sign up for the free rewards program your receive a free small popcorn that you can upgrade to a much larger one for only $2-$3. If you want a calmer movie experience I suggest this theatre.

As a parent of young children it can be hard to get away for one of these movies, but during the summer of 2025 they have been showing children's movies at 11 am on Saturday mornings for FREE! It's been a wonderful opportunity to revisit some old favorites and see new ones.

A haven for film nerds & freebies!…read more This is a University of Nebraska-owned theater, which means that in addition to showing movies to the public, they use the theatres for film classes. During the school year when classes are assigned to watch a film there, they often open up the empty seats to the public, for free. They offer some good sneak peeks before movies are released. Recently, I saw Charlie Bartlett, American Gangster, & Forgetting Sarah Marshall there all for FREE before they were released in theaters. This is also the only place in Lincoln (and most of Nebraska, for that matter), that you'll be able to watch documentaries like "Control Room" & "Bowling for Columbine" in theatres. That goes for liberal films too, which won't garner much of an audience in Nebraska. For a couple years, they showed a compilation of all of the Academy Awards short animation nominees. That was cool - I can't even find that on Netflix! They serve the local community by occasionally hosting premieres of locally-produced shows for our statewide Public Television Station (NET Nebraska), or premiering local films & doing Q&A with the filmmakers afterwards. TIPS: 1) Check their site (www.theross.org) often for special deals (free popcorn?) and for the upcoming shows. You can also grab a flyer (to the left of the ticket booth) for that info. 2) If there's no metered parking available on the street, try the University's visitor lot, a block east. 3) Try the Kookaburra licorice. It doesn't even taste like "licorice". It tastes like awesome. 4) If you're going to a free sneak preview, this is how it works: - Go there a day or so early to pick up your ticket voucher. I think you can also do this the day of the show. This is not a ticket, & beware: they overbook it. - Get there an hour early. Again, at least one hour early. 30 minutes before the show, the lobby will be crammed full of mostly college students waiting to see a free movie. - Exchange your voucher for a ticket, & wait in line. - For some of the more popular movies, the distributor will send a "bouncer" to check your purse or backpack before you enter the theatre, to make sure you're not trying to make a bootleg. So...this may not be a good show to sneak food into either :)

The long-awaited bathroom renovations were complete when I last visited in July 2009. It's nice, though I regret the space it took up in the main theater. Renovations are on-going - the owner works a second job to support the theater. Second run theater and more - they bring in magic shows, host birthday parties, and will do private showings of films (independent, special-interest such as Indian, etc.) . During football season they show the games on the big screen (for free!) and sell concessions. They do cheap matinees of kiddie films in the summer, and in October the owner brings back Rocky Horror. Nice marquee, big screen, big venue (cavernous - seats 300, less the couple of seats removed to make space for the expanded bathrooms). The owner is a sweet guy who was very good to us when we ran a Rocky Horror cast here - we still come back and visit occasionally. It's the sort of place where if you're a regular they learn your name.

My family and I love going to the movies, and we have opted for the season pass at times because of how often we come here. The ambiance is very comfortable, lush, and reminds me of old school movie theaters. Each set of seats has a table (and a purse hook, which I love) to give you a true dining experience while watching your favorite films. The Alamo consistently does movie series, and will show reruns or specials, one of my favorites being the Max Fleischer series featuring Betty Boop shorts. I love the opportunity to see older movies in theaters, and the Alamo does an amazing job of making the experience all-encompassing. I have been to one of their special brunch showings of White Christmas, for which they had a fun themed menu. It was truly the most fun and festive movie showing, and I would highly recommend getting the Alamo app to see what is showing in the future. Some movies are better on the big screen, and the Alamo consistently delivers. The menu is also great and I have always enjoyed everything I eat from here. I always try a burger and a new mixed drink, but their loaded fries are A+ and I would advise ordering them! The staff is incredibly kind, and very speedy. In the rare instance that my order has been forgotten, they have been very prompt in correcting the mistake. As someone who is tired of attending movies just to hear chatting and snickering, which I have had to deal with at other Omaha theaters, the Alamo has a strict no-phone, no-talk, no arriving late policy, which I personally feel makes the experience even better. They truly value the customer experience, and I will continue to come here time and time again.
