I love watching movies here. This place has been around since I was a kid... so I remember the good ol days of cheap kid tickets. The seats are newer reclining ones and they've made upgrades. The staff were friendly and helpful, the popcorn was good, everything else was a fail. Theatre: My dream lounger was mechanically broken, with visibly damaged upholstery and worn-out cushions. There was a loud rattle when bass was high as if something near the screen was loose/broken or the speakers themselves had been blown (this was so distracting and disruptive it almost ruined the whole movie experience) Restrooms: Two of the four sinks had plastic over them stating "out of order" the other functioning sink's hand sensor was ridiculous to try to use. It's hard to imagine a national chain of theaters being accepting of such low standards. What is even harder to imagine is a customer base which would continue to return and pay a premium for a substandard product. It has become a real challenge to justify the cost to see a movie in theaters, especially when the experience is better at home. read more

Now that the Covid crap is over we are seeing more movies and I've got to say that Jeff and the whole crew at East Park make you feel welcome! We love the Dream lounger seating plus the sound system is great. When they finally opened up after the Covid crap I felt safe because it is always clean always has been and they go out of their way to make sure everything is sanitized. This is our favorite movie date location for several reasons, the obvious one being all the theaters with reclining chairs. I've become so spoiled by having these I refuse to go to a movie in any other style. Since this place isn't one of the theaters downtown it usually isn't too packed unless you're catching an opening night. We order our tickets and select our seats online and then pick them up at one of the machines when you first enter the door. The buttered popcorn is something that every theater tells me is gluten free, but doesn't always turn out to be true. I've successfully devoured multiple popcorns from this location without any problems. They have one snack stand before entering the theater hall. Everyone has always been friendly, theaters are kept clean, prices are standard (don't forget 5.00 ticket Tuesday!), and there's plenty of parking and is generally less crowded. read more

I recommend enrolling in their rewards program, we usually buy through fandango and it charges you a convenience fee and with the rewards you can rank up points plus it doesn't charge you the convenience fee because of their loyalty program. Really comfortable seats although today I was really disappointed due to the seats being way off to the side instead of centered on the middle of the screen. Really off position if you ask me since there was only one side with stairs we were pushed to the side and given really odd view of the screen although I must add not all rooms are like that. They have a special on Tuesday but away from that prices are like any regular theater although you get comfier chair and more leg room giving you less people per room because of this which is a bonus from me. read more

I've been here before and it was fine, but my most recent experience was downright infuriating. Movie started at 8pm and my girlfriend and I show up a little late hoping to just miss a few previews. The doors were locked so I looked at my watch - 8:10pm. I called twice, received no answer, and watched the employees turn the lights out all before it was even 8:15pm. This was a total waste of money and I will not be wasting my time here in the future. read more

not friendly staff. I have brought tickets at southpointe and unable to make a show. they always refund us as long as it's the same day. This location refuse to! if i can't make the showing already, what make you think i can drive across town to get a refund? their app needs an update so you can return tickets online. i would use fandango from now on. you can link your marcus reward to not pay transaction fee and ALSO RETURN ON APP! Last time i went on tuesday, they wouldn't give us the free popcorn on tuesday cause i didn't have the rewards card we ya to purchase the ticket. i gave the girl a phone #, which she claims didn't work. However, when i went to southpointe, they found our reward card. Interesting how southpointe has a friendlier staff and can find info east park can't huh? read more

DO NOT come here if the only seats available are on the sides of the theater. The angles are horrible and really ruined the experience for us. I suppose if you come when it is less busy you would be okay. The Grand is 100x better read more

There are 4 movies that I would like to see. All 4 are at the Grand. In the past, I have waited for them to come to East Park. The waits have been in vain. As a handicapped person, I can not go to movies at the Grand. Parking is a big problem. It is time for the city council address this problem. If they are going to have a monopoly, they should be forced to consider the handicapped. read more

This theater has an amazing burger and fries. They are cooked to order and never disappoint. The pizza is good too! The reason I give it four stars is the high prices. I would strongly encourage everyone to get a Marcus theater rewards card... It will save you some money in the future. read more

Really love the improvements the Dreamloungers and Dolby Atmos have brought to East Park. As a long time resident, I have seen it undergo many changes...heck I remember in High School when it was still a shopping mall! I do understand the frustrations of those that haven't been in the theater yet, or checked out the seating. Our first try was at the Grand, downtown, we picked center row right down front...ughhhh, never again! Those rails at East Park ARE a new problem though too, due to the way the seats are situated in graduated levels. Here's some Veteran Dreamlounger's movie-goers advice though: 1. Get a FREE Marcus Rewards Card!, 2. Pre-order your tickets online (if at all possible) so you can see a grid of the seats and avoid getting "what's left" (plus with a Marcus card there is no fee to do so), 3. Go on Tuesday...all seats (except for 3D)/ all shows =$5.00!! Plus w/ that Marcus card, you get a free average size popcorn per ticket purchased. Also, if there's 2 of you that happen to like the same beverage (and neither one has cooties lol) you could save cash by just buying 1 large drink and sharing, because it's free refills on the large. There are also $2 candy deals and $2 hotdogs on Tuesdays btw!, 4. The Marcus card will enable you to be part of an elite and lucky group of movie-goers that get to attend select movies before the general public...for FREE!!, 5. Almost forgot one other BONUS...duhhh lol. For every dollar you spend you earn 1 point on your Marcus Card. We went here first time and I was amazed.the atmosphere is very friendly. They have a very good sitting and waiting aria.

This is an ok theater to go to. It is older and more run down than the other Marcus Theaters in town, but it is more centrally located and usually not quite as busy. The screens are also smaller then some of the newer theaters in town. There is plenty of parking available and it is easy to get in and out of the parking lot. The staff is friendly. The concession stand has the usual movie theater fare. I prefer the newer theaters, but sometimes I just don't want to drive all the way to the other side of town to get to them. read more

The newly remodeled East Park theaters look nice at first glance. And the much lauded reclining seats are very roomy and comfortable. Unfortunately, the safety rail between your row and the one in front of you impedes your view if you recline at all. It's fairly distracting. This was an issue for my 5'7" self and my 6 foot stepson. The concession prices were also shockingly expensive, even for movie theater concessions. Overall, the "improvements" did not really improve the movie watching experience over the previous stadium seating incarnation. Definitely considering that for the two of us, seeing a movie and having drinks and snacks cost more than a nice-ish sit down dinner would have. read more

Went there on Christmas Day to see Star Wars. Good sound, good picture, comfy reclining seats. What really helped was that they had a closed captioning device for my hearing impaired daughter. That was huge, and will keep me going back there. The employee at the ticket counter had an issue getting it working, but the manager came right out and walked down to the theater to make sure it worked. read more

This is a great improvement over the old theater. Upon arrival you are able to pick your seats. It seemed a few people had trouble finding theirs and sat in the wrong place which seemed odd as the seating is clearly marked. The lobby seems a bit smaller than the old theater but the entrance is much nicer. As others have said, the theater we were in has only one isle but with far fewer seats because of the recliner seating and wider passage in front of the seats I don't see why anyone would worry about fire safety issues. The recliners are wide and comfortable with drink holders in the arm. Unlike the old seating you do not feel crammed into the theater like a cattle car. It would take a huge person sitting next to you to feel cramped, if someone that large could make it up the stairs in the first place. There is also lots of room in front of your chair. Even fully reclined, people can easily pass in front of you without the normal contortions in the old theater. My one minor complaint is the safety rail that is on all the upper tiers do get in the way of the screen a bit, especially when fully reclined, but it seemed a minor inconvenience after just a few minutes. Although I was disappointed in the movie itself, I felt like this theater is a vast improvement over the old crowded concepts. I will be making this my first choice for future theater visits when possible. read more

I love watching movies. Movies are a way to escape from the everyday mundane life and get lost in other worlds, places, and galaxies. I loved it when marcus theaters had $5 mornings every morning. However, they no-longer will do this (except for on tuesdays) as morning tickets are now 9:50. If you see a movie in the morning that happens to be on the superscreen, then they're charge $11 per ticket. Very disappointing. Especially when you have a lot of kiddos that you want to take to see the latest Jumanji and KoKo movies.. . Overall, the staff is nice though. Just wish marcus would realize they will make more money if they kept the morning showings cheaper. read more

My wife and I went to see The Purge today 6/8/2013 at the East Park Cinema. We were really getting into the movie, and then there were a couple of times during the movie that were getting really intense and the sound effects are supposed to get louder, but they did not because the person in the control room kept turning the volume down during all of the climax scenes. This ruined the movie for us and we will never go to this movie theater ever again. read more

The newly renovated theater is nice (GREAT recliner seating), but concession prices are astronomical. Also, a BIG warning - the newly renovated seating area is too wide for the screen area meaning the first four seats and last four seats in each row have horrendous viewing angles - we almost walked out and asked for a refund. Also, the front row seats are too close to the screen. Two teens at the screening i went to actually went and sat on the stairs rather than remain in their front-row seats. The auditorium I was in only had stairs on one side, it's amazing the fire-code allows only one set of stairs out of a theater - i think they are asking for tragedy if they ever have a fire. Marcus theaters seems to have a "special" relationship with the city council (think...monopoly) It appears as though they eliminated one set of stairs to increase the seating capacity but it creates a dangerous exit scenario and less-than-optimal viewing conditions. . I am looking forward to the Lincoln City Council getting rid of the (obviously illegal) ordinance that restricts the number of screens per location outside of the downtown area so that we can get a modern theater operator (such as AMC) into Lincoln to provide some real choices for theaters to the under-served northeast and southeast Lincoln areas (yes, we enjoy downtown/haymarket but sometimes we just want to see a movie!!!!)
