I have been having my hair cut and coloured every 8 weeks for a number of years (since…read morerefurbisment). All the staff & the owner are really welcoming and it is the most enjoyable hairdressers I have ever used. Very clean and tidy. You can't help but feel at ease as soon as you enter this light and airy salon. Nothing is too much trouble. Nice music in the background to while away the time. Really good products used on my hair......shampoo, conditioner, colour, serum and hair spray. Afterwards my hair smells delicious and is left nice and shiny. Whoever you book in with really listens to how you want your hair done and the cut is accomplished very professionally. Having my hair done is a wonderful relaxing experience and afterwards I always feel like a million dollars!! Following Covid19 the owner has installed lots of see through screens in between the salon chairs, also over the chairs at the sinks. The staff all wear masks and visors and the seats are thoroughly cleaned after use. The prices vary depending on what you are having done, but overall not bad. I fully recommend this salon.

Although fairly new they've built up a good regular client pool. I work just round the corner so I can pop there in my lunch break which is great! I have to say I've only ever had a quick 'you-can't-really go-wrong' fringe trim in there but the other customers always seem pleased with the results. As usual you can opt for different experience levels with according price schemes with various discounts seasonable available - current a student offer is available.

And this is in no small part due to the character of the owner, a thoroughly lovely, slightly eccentric woman, but ... This is a delicate thing to say in a review of a hair salon but I'm going to have to: the owner has a very peculiar hairstyle! Very long, but with a section of it piled up into a bun on the top ... It's not the best advert for a hair salon, now, is it? It's quite hard to get past that when you come in here for a haircut - and let me explain that I did have my hair cut here as a student once, because they were running a special £12 offer for students. I couldn't resist. My friend and I went together, and we couldn't help giggling a bit through the experience. Juvenile, yes, but we were 19! And we had found ourselves in a surreal 1950s hair salon having really very uncool haircuts! The lady doing my hair behaved as though she'd never had to style curly hair before, and my friend asked for a "jaggedy, cool crop" which caused a bit of nervous alarm in her stylist. So, yes, I wouldn't recommend it to young people. It's probably got its reliable custom from ladies who've been coming here for years for the same 'do. It's a charming salon and it was an experience having my hair cut here, but never again!

I guess it's pretty 'funky' with its flashy paintings on the window and the display of Tigi products. Inside it's quite small, and the hairdressers (as always) looked bored out of their minds! They did a good haircut pour moi, but to be honest I wasn't asking much, just a trim so it probably didn't stretch their hairdressing talents!! However, the girl next to me was getting a half head of highlights and looked positively delighted with the end result so I'll bump up the rating a tad for her expression.

After trying many different hairdressers and not being completely satisfied afterwards, I came…read moreacross Moda - and being just along Gloucester Road it is literally walking distance for me which is even better! Although I have recently dyed my hair brunette, I used to get my highlights done every 6 weeks along with a cut to keep the condition - and when I came out of this hairdressers my hair looked lovely, and felt amazing - I was so pleased with the result! Moda is a pretty small salon, with only around five hair dressing seats - and like most hairdressers definitely book ahead, they get quite busy. I had a female stylist, and she was so lovely - and of course stereotypically chatty as ever! She asked me exactly what I wanted in terms of style and colour and I got exactly this. They don't let trainees cut your hair here either which is reassuring - the lowest qualified stylist is a graduate stylist, which is the level of the girl who cut my hair. In terms of pricing Moda is on the more expensive range - but then in my opinion it was worth it for the confidence I could put in them; I paid around £80 for my half head of highlights and a cut and restyle. I would recommend Moda to anyone who is looking for a good and reliable salon in Bristol, they are great and also offer you refreshments!

I'd like to think of myself as quite an outgoing and friendly kind of girl, but when it comes to…read morethe hairdressers I really hate making idle chit chat. It's so banal and dull that I sometimes make things up to keep the conversation alive. "I'm moving to New York next week.... I'm in training for the marathon at the moment... I'm getting married next month". This is why I cannot go back to the same hairdressers more than once. So why I needed my locks tamed, Reflections on Queen's Road was next on my hit list. Friendly hairdresser? Tick. Head massage? Tick. Boring conversation? Tick. The hairdresser seemed like she understood exactly what I wanted and started snipping away. It looked fantastic until she insisted on making in poker straight and flat against my head. Two washes later and a whole lot of hairspray and I was very happy with my new do.

If that's not what you're after, it may take some explaining that you want to keep your curls/length/natural colour. They use GHDs and GHD products which is a bonus, plus they're open until 8pm on a Thursday - perfect if you work late or at the weekends. Inside, this one looks just like all there other salons in the city. Inoffensive, but not the place to go if you want a complete restyle.
