One of my favorites is the children's book collection and kids apparel. And they have all the new releases and classic Christian DVDs. Anything they don't have they can order it in. Overall, this is a store that is just easy to shop and browse. It feels like you're in someone's home and the staff treats you like company not a customer. Great local business doing it right. You'll be a regular if you ever visit once. Enjoy!

I recently started work on a chicken coop. This necessitated me buying metal roofing and sheeting…read more Dutchman Metal was recommended to me by a builder. Upon arrival, the showroom was hopping! It was very busy. Phones were ringing incessantly. It became immediately clear that this business had earned and enjoyed a very large customer base. Despite the business, it did not take long before Nathan joined me at the counter. I presented a picture of what I was trying to build and asked him to help me lay out the job. For the next hour, he meticulously went through each phase and plane of the project. He calculated all my metal, j channel, corner pieces, capping and flashing. We figured out colors and trims and he even took care to make sure I had the correct color screws for each of the different colored areas. After working through the whole project based on a picture, he wrote me a very concise and complete cost for the whole project. I was not ready to purchase that day, but I was given an order number and an invoice. Nathan told me that when I was ready, I could call in and get the order cut. He asked for a day's notice on the project. Three days after my first visit, I ordered my metal as Nathan had recommended on my quote, and I picked up my order over the weekend. They loaded the entire load with a winch and sling. We backed under it and that was all it took. They lowered it into the bed of the truck. Prices were AMAZING! The metal was well packaged and secured against both wind and wet. Loading was a breeze! The metal was cut accurately when it came home. Overall, this was a pleasant shopping experience. They cut metal for roof and siding applications. They also have an old fashioned style hardware store. This is at least a second generation family business. I highly recommend them for all your construction metal needs. Parking is ample. Restrooms were in good order and clean.

We were told that if we did not order by then we would not get the discount. So we ordered by the date, but our order was not put in until 8 days later. They still honored the discount, but I felt rushed to make a decision because of the "discount end date". The only day we went in there to look at things they turned the lights out and rushed us out because they were getting ready to close. The first time the cabinets were delivered one item was damaged and several were ordered in the wrong size. The new items came in January and these items were ordered in the wrong color. So now it will be March 2023 before our cabinets are installed...if they were ordered correctly. I've contacted Lumber King multiple times and they were no help. After they got my money they did not contact me back when I had questions or follow through on things they said they would do. I've also contacted the cabinet company Kraftmaid and they have not returned my call. I would recommend going somewhere else. Absolutely horrible experience.

Hubbard's Building Supply is one of those rare small businesses which will surprise you. While they…read morecan't stock everything like a big-box chain store, what they do stock is reasonably priced and their customer service is exceptional. I hold small businesses to the same standards as the big boys when it comes to pricing and service, though; I don't "buy local" just because it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, and I don't shun box stores just because they're all run by increasingly greedy and incompetent bastards. Both types of stores compete for the same dollars on the same playing field, so I judge them both by the same standards. Having said that, Hubbard's has never disappointed me in the 20+ years I've been going there for hardware and building supplies. By comparison, the two nearest Lowe's stores (both a half-hour away) usually disappoint me multiple times within the first 20+ minutes I'm in the store. If you need lumber or building supplies, shop around. Then go talk to somebody at Hubbard's and prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
