Battalion's equipment sounds solid, and the place is easy to access (plus close to Whole Foods, as an added bonus!). I can't wait to come back. My only push would be to have a bell or something at the front desk. No one was there when I arrived last time, and I had to sit and wait for ten minutes, which cut into my practice slot. They wanted to serve Jamaican food and rum punch with paper umbrellas: an upscale party with island flavor. To create the perfect ambiance for such an evening, I booked this DJ. He was wonderful. We discussed the event several times prior to the big day, he came early to set up and check out the space; and during the event played a fantastic mix of old school reggae, hip hop and soul. Having a live DJ play the perfect soundtrack really made the evening feel special...which led a lot of people to get out their checkbooks and donate to our cause. I hope to find more excuses to host parties so I can book him again.

I have the sheet music with the chords so I tried to play a couple of chords along with the song. All of a sudden it was like a rush of understanding came over me and I was instantly about a 100 times better at playing the piano!! No joke. It was like I have been feeling my way through what I thought was a huge mansion in the pitch black for the pass 30 years. I simply never understood chords and keys and how it was all connected. After just our short lesson, it was like the light switch had been turned on. Not only could I see everything clearly for the first time, but the 30 years of practicing in the dark means I know my music much better than I thought. I was just missing the crucial part to connect it all. Now that I have just a little bit of that it's like I've been unleashed. I can play things beautifully now, in tempo and can even play pieces that I used to simply think were beyond me. I had a few songs I was plodding my way through, struggling to learn my old blind way. I picked them up and could instantly play them all beautifully and in tempo. I'm telling you, it was amazing! Thanks for giving me this gift.
