As the summer is approaching the girlies know it's time to get the hair braided. Unfortunately, now there are so many stylist to choose from but you're not always guarenteed a great finished product. With that said I came across Magic Fingers Braiding on TikTok and was so impressed with what I saw that I decided I would give them a try. I'm so glad that I did because my medium waist length knotless braids turned out so cute. I've literally receieve compliments every time I'm out. From the moment I walked in the door (which was around 7:05 am on a Friday morning) I was greeted with a warm smile and asked what style I would like to get. Once we determined the style I was escorted to the back to select the color of hair that I wanted. While I keep mine the natural color of my hair they did offer a variety of colors for those who like to add a little razzle dazzle. I was then seated and by 7:15 they started parting and braiding. I can't believe I was done by 9:15 am, yes you read that right only two hours for waist length medium knotless braids. This may be my new go-to place for braids in the D[M]V. read more

Magic Fingers Braiding - Medium waist length knotless braids for $180 including the hair. - Hair Stylists Near Me - New Carrollton, Maryland

I go here very often. I honestly love the service, the prices are decent, timing for styling is always 3 hours or less, it's a comfortable environment. My only complaint or con would be how long they actually take to start your service. Once you enter you're almost immediately asked what you came in for, seated at a station, however, you're sitting at that station for at least 30 to 45 minutes while the stylist are separating your hair on the phone chatting ordering food walking around, etc. I don't mind that the stylist take their time to get themselves together, but it's just something I've noticed. They do a dang, good job and they're very respectful. They can take my money every single time. read more

Came across the business on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I absolutely loved my entire experience. From the moment I walked into the door, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from multiple stylists. I arrived at 6am on a Friday and was the first customer of the day. They asked me what style I wanted. I got the boho medium knotless braids. I was told a price and agreed. They allowed me to choose my hair color and took me to a work station. They prepared the hair and by 6:45am 2 stylists were working on me. One person braided the front, and one person braided the back. They gave me a mirror so I could check the back of my hair. I absolutely loved it!!!! I was walking out the door at 9:30am!!!! I will be coming here from now on!!!! It's only 15 mins from my home and the service I received here was much better than all the other braiding salons I've ever been to! read more

Will not be going back. They did a seemingly good job until 4 days passed and multiple parts were falling out already. Then they proceed to tell me it's my fault because my hair is "short" when in reality it was not, and that was admitted when I went back to get them redone. They didn't not even try to redo the other parts that were almost coming out, I had to identify each piece. Not ideal at all. read more

I communicated via text the night before that I wanted my hair washed blow dried and braided down for a wig style, they said they could do it. I walked in that morning, the lady at the front asked to see my hair, she touched it and then said that it's "too thick" that they can't do my hair and they don't offer blow dry services. mind you they literally confirmed the NIGHT BEFORE that they could do it, but now they turned me away and said they don't blow dry hair, that I would have to go to the hair academy but they're closed (this was a Sunday) so bottom line they can't do my hair. Imagine OTHER AFRICANS telling a fellow African that they can't style me because my hair was "too thick".... mind you it was just DRY. on top of that, the attitude and demeanor of that lady at the front was so cold and detached, not at all welcoming as she should've been! first and last time I will ever step foot into this place. read more

Second time coming to the salon and they did my hair the first time it was great, but when I came back for the second time, the service was was ok. Even if I had two people on my head, it took longer than the first time I had two people on my head. The reason why it took longer this time is because it felt like no one knew what they were doing. They had to have everyone around me to figure out how to do my hair. They literally took braids out and redo it two times. It was a confusing situation overall I do like my hair, but I'm not sure if I would come back. read more

Super over priced . I paid 340 for a couple of box braids I wish so bad I gave some other company money instead . Compared to the other women of there race my hair ended up looking so different it stunk in there and they was arguing most of the time they stop mid hair to go on break it was not worth it- keep looking read more

I would give no stars if I could. The owner is a liar and evil. She not only lied but laughed in my face. I received knotless boho braids 3 weeks ago and my curls are matted. I called no response and text with no response. I came to the store to see if I could get a refund and was met with disrespect and yelled at. She laughed in my face. I would never come back to this establishment. They are liars and evil. read more

They promised me human hair with my braids however it was synthetic ... terrible customer service when I went to get it fixed.

Everything seemed normal until I sat down , felt like a horror story. I had a lady name Joelle I tried my best to remember that name due to the disrespect she has for the owner and the customer . The woman was funky smelled and reek I can understand a long day but not when you are expecting to have my head closed to your body. She started talking about my hair and what she was willing to do and not to ... telling her coworkers that they should do whatever size to customer hair because we can't see the back to telling her coworkers that she is doing whatever on my hair and would fake good braids in the front . She was singing in my ear shouting talking loud not knowing I also spoke her language and understood everything being said. I won't be coming back at all ! Not a place to go if you want a quiet space, braid well done . read more

This place was clean, organized and efficient. I had my hair washed, blown out and braided. I went in at 7 am and was done by 12:30pm. Everyone was kind and professional. Being that this was my first time getting my hair braided, I think it went well. I would definitely wash my hair in advance, as I don't think there was a lot of care placed on conditioning and heat protection prior blowing my hair out. Also, their blow outs were rough (I.e. no parting/sectioning, conditioner or oils applied to the scalp, etc.) and it just felt rough. I'm not tender headed, btw. I would also recommend bringing your own hair as the price changed the more I described it what I wanted. Overall, it was a positive experience. Vera, the owner, was very nice. read more

Magic Fingers Braiding - Smedium knotless boho braids. The boho hair is human hair. - Hair Stylists Near Me - New Carrollton, Maryland

Very friendly!! I came in around 6:00 so it wasn't the cleanest bc I'm sure they were doing other peoples hair during the day. I paid 80$ for 1/2 head of "stitch" braids, which was expensive bc it was for a 9yo girl. We didn't leave til almost 8pm. I don't think the stylist knew how to do stitch braids but she tried her best... the braids are messy, the lines aren't even and like I said it's definitely not stitch braiding. The women were all nice, but if I'm paying $80 I would expect it to be exactly how the picture looks. If you look at my daughter's braids you'll see... they do have a sign that says if you're not happy with the braids let the stylist know. But at this point (2 hours in), & (it was also my daughters birthday), I was ready to go and she had school tomorrow so I was not going to wait another 2 hours for her to redo it... although they were friendly, we will NOT be returning. Best of luck. read more

i would recommend this salon - i traveled from alexandria to get my hair done here. i got smedium knotless they did a nice job but it's been two weeks since i got them i will say that ive spray my braids and my hair is coming out of the shaft. i never had that happen with me when ive gotten braids done ... ever. i'm not sure if it was because they had an extra girl helping out who was barely paying attention. maybe it was lack of product ? i don't know. i am considering trying another place out before returning here. read more
