Rafted 2 days and had a blast. On Sean Sr's boat both days--he's very entertaining and knowledgeable. Would definitely return to Magic Falls!

This was our second time rafting with Magic Falls in 3 years and it was as memorable an experience as the first. From Donna and Lavonne to the guides and our guide Billy we were treated terrifically. My wife and I have sort of started a tradition that when one of our 5 children graduates HS we take them rafting. Magic Falls will be our only go to rafting company.

I had my doubts as how to keep 5 boys happy, but then I stumbled upon Crab Apple Whitewater Rafting! Our family had only been rafting once in Northern California so we were inexperienced to say the least. Plus, a few of us jump out of ride lines at amusement parks soooo... Our paintball guide was Alex and he was perfect for my group of competitive one-uppers. He was patient, kind, and had a funny, commanding personality. My teenage sons needed a big, strong guy to lead them. It was so fun! even for a 46-year old mom. There were two locations to play on and they also had cold water for us and some bug spray to top off with. We enjoyed the ride out there with Chuck, the patriarch/owner. Restaurant food was great! No complaints from the kids-- burgers, pizza, nuggets, salad and specials. Next day was rafting. the head guide exuded confidence and therefore calmed us all. He had about 30 years experience. I felt very safe. Our guide was Alex again. He was fantastic! Calming the fears of my 11-year old and talking us through the class IVs. He also let each boy try their hand at steering, teaching them with encouragement. No egos here at Crab Apple. Just humble good people. After we had a fun and delicious bbq prepared by the guides. Just a real good vibe! I also want to mention Dawn, who packed an enormous to-go bag with breakfast items when she learned we were leaving at 5am to catch a plane in Boston. Talk about going above and beyond! I highly recommend Crab Apple for individuals and families alike. Five Stars to Chuck and his classy, hardworking family.

Our group had a blast & I would go back solo, it was that much fun! Even the young children in our group got to go via the special raft Cliff guided for them. They loved it. The Forks area is beautiful. We hiked & biked as well. As an FYI cell reception is spotty in the area

Very last minute adventure to try WW Rafting for the first time…read more I arrived right before our bus was to be leaving...got lost along the way. The staff was kind and patient even though I'm sure it was annoying to have us show up in the midst of the safety lecture! Our guide Eric, came with a total of 32 years experience, such a positive and easy going attitude, and an aura of joy! Having never been rafting before I was quite nervous, but after just a few minutes getting with Eric, and observing him in the boat, I knew I was in the best hands possible. What I feel is important to know is that, the people you choose to spend the day rafting with-in your boat-should be people you feel comfortable with. There was a single man that joined our group, and because of his very potent body odor, inability to allow the guide to speak at times, and his obtrusive wooden oar, my experience felt slighted at times. This man meant no harm and is just going about his life, I just wish I could have slapped some deodorant on him Anywho-Eric did a fantastic job doing what he does so well...GUIDING...he read his group, got to know our strengths, and then allowed us to have a very memorable and cherished experience!! I would have to say that the lunch served at camp, after the trip, was less than desirable. Whether you decide to take a day trip or stay overnight, I highly recommend Moxie!

The Wilderness site is about a qtr mile from the main campground and Lodge, which was fine because we would all pile into my buddys pickup and go back and forth. The site was basically a huge field with multiple sites laid right next to the Kennebec River so it was BEAUTIFUL! Def. bring mosquito and bug deterrent (obviously) Not once did any staff member come to check on us which we loved (nothings worse than feeling monitored) RV site had electric hookups which was great for my father so he could relax away from us party animals. The lodge is fantastic, corn hole tournaments, awesome bar with GREAT craft beer! They brew their own beer at the lodge downstairs, it is very delicious. We dined at the lodge our first night after 7+ hours of driving we didn't feel like cooking. Food was A+!!!!! The rafting was very cool, we were a rowdy group to say the least, the guide was very chill and laid back as we wrestled inside the raft trying to throw each other out of the raft even in the middle of rapids (which one of my groomsmen succeeded in doing so with me, it was a rush!) Hitting each other with our paddles, the guide couldn't have been better. Older guides would have screamed at us several times, def. made the experience very memorable letting us bicker amongst ourselves and have fun! It's a total hipster ran place which makes it totally chill, we are by no means hipsters but being around hipsters is never a bad time. Everyone who worked there was cool and relaxed. Not a single complaint! Shower house was clean and water was hot. Def bring gear and supplies, if you run out you're screwed, its about 45 minutes to the closest market of any kind. You're cell phone WILL NOT WORK here!!!!! The wifi in the Lodge is REALLY strong so you can make calls in the lodge once connected, don't expect to be on your Facebook if you're camping, you will be disappointed. Awesome campground! We are doing the Penobscot next year and hopefuly we find a campground as solid as this for that trip (Northern's campground at Penobscot doesn't have electric RV hookups so we can't stay there unfortunately but will use them for the rafting for sure!) We all went to breakfast at their restaurant. Delicious & huge portions. Reasonably priced as well. There's a large hot tub, game room, swimming pool & pool table. Nice cozy couches in this area as well. The staff were some of the nicest people I have ever met. This is an all season place. It is definitely worth the trip!

We spend 2 nights in a cabin on the Moxie camp site - it had 4 full size beds (we only needed one) but it would be great for a larger group of people. It had a night sitting area with a kitchen table if you wanted to cook over the camp fire (because we were on vacation....I did not want to cook!!) So we bought the meal plan. It seems that most people buy the breakfast, lunch is on the river during the rafting trips and dinner seems to be skipped by most - but it is pretty solid and worth it!! The lunch was steak or chicken, pasta salad and the best baked beans ever!!! if you are looking for a veggie option - they make their own veggie burgers (they looked great and people loved them). The only thing I could ask for would have been dessert (but i have a sweet tooth!! - taller half could have cared less) The staff was outstanding - felt like family. Phil checked us in -(he is the do it all man...from driving the moose tour, the buses and fixing anything you need man) he was very friendly and helpful. We bought firewood (5 dollars for a good size bundle) from him - he set up our fire pit so all we had to do was light it! The camp has 4 bathrooms and 2 showers - they were clean and lots of light (there are no bathrooms in the cabins) no fear walking to them after the sunset. The first day we did a half of day white water rafting with Angela (she was wonderful!!) and Funyaked the 2nd half of the river. The second day we rafted the entire river with Randy (he was wonderful!!!) We were able to swim in the river, paddle our hearts out on class 4 rapids and enjoy a few lazy miles at the end of the river. We even saw a bald eagle along the river!!! The guides know what they are doing and really do their best to make sure you and the boat have the best time ever. We look forward to going back to Moxie in the future! The two exceptions were when the van stopped and we all got out. The only good seat was in the front passenger spot. At one point two Jeeps were behind our tour van for a long time, the guide made a comment about how they were being impatient, needed to respect the tour bus, and didn't let them pass us by pulling over. She kept them behind us for quite about 1/2 hour. When we finally spotted a moose 2.5 hours in and she pulled over, the two vehicles revved their engines and sped past, scaring the one moose we saw the entire time back into the woods. So we saw a moose running into the woods. The people at the back of the van saw it's butt... As we headed back to the tour lodge, another moose crossed the road in front of us, it took about 4 strides across the street... so, did we see moose? Technically, yes... was it what we signed up for and paid $74, and a four hour ride for? No! So their 89% moose spotting rate includes this... if you're thinking you want to see moose in water, munching away and you have an almost 90% chance that's not really an accurate take on this. Also, our tour guide Natalie was very nice, however she did not know much more than the average Joe- me... she wasn't particularly engaging and didn't have information that didn't pop up on any Google search, as a matter of fact, she didn't necessarily know info that did pop up on a google search... she did give us tasty brownies and water. I was able to capture scenery photos, no moose photos though

Their venue is closer to Bangor than some of the other outfitters that do this, however, the ride to get to the pond is at least an hour. You ride in a van and some of the roads are bumpy. The guide narrates a little, but I feel he could have done more. The home base is nice and they sell souvenirs, coffee, and snacks. They have a bathroom building with changing areas. There was lots of water on the ground there, so I wonder why it wasn't moped. Once you get into the van, there is no bathroom area (unless there is a porta potty that I missed. The scenery by the water was very beautiful and peaceful and even though no moose were spotted, it was still a very nice experience. The price was fair and there was always someone that answered the phone when we called to ask questions. Overall a great experience.
