7 guys on a week long snowmobile trip. our plans got altered due to an oncoming storm so we needed a place last minute to stay for the night. Found contact info on a 15 year old snowmobile map and gave a call. They were happy to take in our group on short notice and feed us dinner even though we arrived very late and breakfast the next morning. We had a brand new cabin and the main lodge was new as well. The owner was very accommodating and hung out as if he were one of our group members. There was a bar in the main lodge if you like to have a few drinks after a long day. We liked it so much we made arrangements to stay for another night on our return trip home. read more

I booked a trip for 6 friends deer hunting, the first week of the 2023 rifle season. The food and hospitality at Bulldog are both excellent. Our group had varied schedules and Darren was very accommodating, allowing guys to float in on different days as their schedules permitted. The location is beautiful. I would recommend getting directions from Darren and getting to camp when it is still light outside (signage can be difficult to see in the dark). We did not opt for guides but will be getting them this year for a return trip. The woods are big up in Jackman. And if you don't have the time to scout in advance, getting a guide is money well spent. Do your sighting in prior to the trip. I plan to come back to Bulldog every year to hunt and fish and highly recommend the camp for hunters and families read more

We went to Bulldog Camps for a 3-day anniversary trip in early June. It was an amazing place to disconnect, destress, and reflect. The new main lodge (featured on the website) is a terrific addition with excellent food, a fully stocked bar, and family style seating. Would highly recommend the 'American Plan', which includes 3 large and tasty meals/day. The cabins are well maintained and very cozy with heat, shower, and kitchen. Be prepared to disconnect for the time you are there (no cell service, wifi, outlets). Would recommend you bring extra charging batteries and a 'spot' or similar device if you plan to venture far from the main camp. For pilots: the lake is ~7500' in length at ~1500' MSL. There are mountains to the immediate west and east of the lake at ~2500' MSL. To the north, terrain steadily rises to ~2300' MSL at a grade of ~8%. If wind is calm, recommend coming in from the south and taking off to the south to avoid terrain. Bring at least 75' in rope to reach the cedar trees along the shoreline. The docking area for the camp is a protected rockybottom beach with little wave action unless the wind is direct from the south east. read more

Each summer my family would go to one or two of Maines traditional sporting camps for a getaway from "civilization". We have returned to Bulldog four times. If you want clean , quiet camps Bulldog is the ticket. The current owners are great people and go out of their way to please guests! The native brook trout fishing , hiking, cave exploration, campfires and huge lawn to play on are great. We usually cook for ourselves, but treat ourselves to a few wonderful meals . The food is really good if you don't want to cook yourself. The quiet you can experience at Bulldog is amazing and very difficult to find in this world today. Staying at Bulldog Camps was a truly relaxing and memorable experience! We were greeted by an impeccably clean, beautifully-updated cabin, where we read the guest book full of interesting characters who had ventured to Enchanted Pond for family events, reunions, hunting expeditions, and getaways over the years. It's clear this is a spot beloved by many - and for good reason! Between the home-cooked meals, warm hospitality, and tranquil surroundings, it's hard to imagine a better place to unwind, explore, and re-center on what matters. The mice were every where; in the kitchen, dressers, absolutely filthy. The beds had mites. I checked out 2 days early and Darren had the tenacity to charge my dog for the 2 nights we were not there. Never again. You have been warned. read more

This is a great camp to get away from it all. Very secluded with wildlife all around you. We like to take our ATVs in the summer and ride the trail all the way to Canada. read more

I recently returned to my home in Pennsylvania from my 5th trip to Bulldog Camps. My hunting partner, Bill, and I have each shot 2 black bears since our first trip in 2010. We continue to return to Bulldog Camps because Darren Savage, Jess, Sierra and Jordan are perfect hosts, the log cabins are well kept, the food is terrific and we feel right at home while there. Bill and I have already committed to our 6th trip to Bulldog the last week in August, 2014. Why go anywhere else to hunt Black bear !! read more
